Summary:
This modern, bright, first floor studio apartment within a traditional Glasgow tenement building is located in a quiet cul-de-sac close to the centre of the bustling Glasgow suburb of Shawlands. The area has many restaurants, cafes and bars and is situated on the south side of Glasgow with direct links to the city centre by bus or train. The apartment has a spacious lounge and sleeping area with a separate kitchen and bathroom. Access to the apartment is via a key lock system.
The Space:
The apartment is modern, fresh and comfortable. There is a double divan bed in the sleeping area and hanging and drawer space. There is a seating area with mirror and hairdryer and also a full-length mirror. The lounge area has a comfortable sofa and a small table and chairs which can be used for dining or as a work space. There is a large screen TV, DVD player with a selection of DVDs and wifi. The kitchen has modern appliances including a washing machine, cooker, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower and a vanity unit with mirror. There is a small hallway which has facilities for hanging coats and storing outdoor shoes.

The Neighborhood:
There are many restaurants, coffee shops and bars in the Shawlands area all within walking distance of the apartment. A slightly longer walk will take you to Battlefield or Strathbungo where there are also good places to eat and drink. Glasgow boasts many beautiful parks and the popular Queen's Park is a 2 minute walk from the apartment. Also close by are The New Victoria Hospital, Hampden Park Stadium, The Burrell Collection (unfortunately currently closed for refurbishment) and Pollok House (The Burrell Collection and Pollok House are both set within Pollok Park). There are a couple of small supermarkets and other small food shops in Shawlands and a larger supermarket a 10 minute walk away (near Crossmyloof train station).
Glasgow makes a good base to explore other parts of Scotland. Forty minutes by car will take you to Loch Lomond, 50 minutes to Edinburgh and 30-40 minutes to the seaside towns of Troon or Ayr. Travel from Glasgow to the western isles of Scotland is also easy by car (or by bus from Buchanan Street Bus Station in the city centre) to ports with onward ferry connections.
Getting Around:
Public transport links to Glasgow city centre are within walking distance of the apartment. Bus stops are a 2 minute walk away and the train station, Crossmyloof, is a 10 minute walk. The is another train station, Pollokshields East, but it is slightly further away. Parking is free on the street outside the apartment building but it can be quite busy.
