Bracken House - a house that sleeps 8 guests in 4 bedrooms

Bracken House is situated in a quiet cul-de-sac at the North end of Aviemore. This modern house has a large hot tub for the whole family or a group of friends. Bracken House is named after the bracken covered hill behind the house, which is at the foot of the Craigellachie Nature Reserve. You may be lucky enough to spot some visitors to the garden and we have some lovely pictures from previous guests of Red Squirrels.

Enjoy a private and covered hot tub area in the back garden, with uninterrupted views and a BBQ for some evening dining. A secure shed also offers a place for bikes and skis, so plan to do some exploring while you are here.

The accommodation is very spacious, offering two double rooms and two twins. Great for large family or even two families. Kids are looked after and a selection of DVDs and a PS3 for guests use - just bring your own favourite games. The large kitchen and dining room are definitely the heart of this home and there is space for everyone to dine or just relax with a glass of wine with views to the garden.

Great stay

We stayed in Bracken House for a week . House was fantastic with the hot tub an added bonus .Plenty room for 6 and the house was fantastic in a great location We well definitely return

We had a lovely time. The house was spacious clean warm and comfortable.

A wee bit TLC is required in the showers as water wouldn't drain away properly. Cushions in the kitchen area needs to be replaced ed but apart from that it was superb. We would definitely come back again. Hot tub was the star and the wildlife visiting out the back was magical. Three small deers came down every morning.

Wonderful Weekend

We had an amazing long weekend staying at Bracken Lodge. There is plenty of room with the kitchen, living room and enclosed garden providing a perfect setting for socialising and relaxing. My Mum the entire weekend kept saying "It just has everything you need". Only a small improvement recommendation would be to have the chairlift area next to the hot tub a bit cleaner with somewhere you're able to hang towels. Would definitely plan to return - superb house in an excellent alpine feeling location!

Bracken House Brilliant

We stayed at Bracken House for a week in late June 2026 and had a wonderful time. The house was lovely, very clean, comfortable and had every amenity you could have a need for. The location is set within stunning silver birch woods on the outskirts of Aviemore where you can walk into town within 15 minutes or set off into the surrounding mountains on foot direct from the door. The location is peaceful, yet close enough to the shops and anything else that Aviemore offers. The house is spacious, very comfortable with everything you could need. It overlooks beautiful woods to rear where you can sit and spot wildlife. Not sure what else you could want from a holiday in the Scottish Highlands at any time of the year.

dog walkers paradise

Bracken House is the perfect place to stay with the forest on the door step and Aviemore within walking distance .The forest has endless trails on the door step and many more only a short drive away .This is the dog walkers paradise and lovely house to relax in at the end of the day .Local pubs and shops are very welcoming making the holiday enjoyable . To improve on everything the only thing I would do is update the refuse collection information and in the cooking range a steamer could be added for vegetables

Family weekend away

Nice quiet location, well equipped with everything you need. Plenty PS /DVD’S games to keep the kids/adults happy. Added luxury was the Hot Tub which we all enjoyed after our adventures

A fantastic property for a family gathering

We are regular visitors to Aviemore and have stayed in a few holiday homes and Bracken House did not disappoint. Great location with a great space for 7 of us and our dog. The hot tub was an added benefit and would recommend to others.

Perfect house for a family getaway

Perfect house for a family getaway. Location was great with easy access to dog walking and biking trails. House was well presented, very comfortable, clean and well equipped. We enjoyed having the hot tub and that the garden was not overlooked and it was secure for the dogs. Well all loved it. Great location for exploring the surrounding area. Only minor negative was the BBQ. It was too small to cook for 8 people and very shallow to get enough coals into it to cook for a house full. We abandoned our plans and cooked inside.

Excellent holiday house

Excellent holiday home in a good location,especially walks from the door with the dogs.Beds were clean and comfy all slept really well .Plenty of space for everyone ,hot tub great to relax in after walks.Aviemore is a beautiful place for all ages ,still love it after twenty years of holidays here .

Lovely Stay at Bracken

We loved our stay at Bracken. The house it's self was nice and clean. The location was great, quiet estate. Lots of paths near by to walk the dogs. Hot tub was a lovely added bonus.

Hiking Break

5 of us stayed at Bracken House at the start of June for a hiking break, the house was excellent and plenty of room for the 5 of us location was quiet but still only a 15-20min walk into town, we only used the hot tub once but it was a great way to sooth the aches and pains after long hikes in the cairngorms. we were lucky enough to spot a Red Deer in the woods above the house while relaxing in the tub. The Kitchen was well kitted out and overall we were very comfortable there. I would certainly stay there again and would recommend it for large families or a group of friends. Its the 1st time I have used Great North Lodges & they were very professional and kept in touch by regular email contact so everything was stress free, there is also someone at the end of a phone too if you need them and they are easy to get in touch with which I found refreshing

Reid 2026

This is the 3rd year we’ve stayed in this house and while we love it for location and space (and of course the hot tub), it feels like the house is becoming more tired as the years wear on. Yes, there is an additional chair in the twin room upstairs, however nothing else has really changed in terms of decor over the course of the three years we’ve been staying. The addition of the bike storage in the garage is however a welcome addition. Over the course of our stay the front door lock was exceptionally temperamental and needs adjusting or replacing. One evening we couldn’t unlock the door which caused a fair panic for our children however after a lot of jiggling of the key and the handle my husband got it open.

Christmas in Aviemore

Great service and information from Great North Lodges. House was easy to find and in a beautiful location. The house had everything we needed and plenty of space which let kids have some space of their own. Beds were extremely comfortable and bedrooms were all of a good size. We had a problem with the heating but this was rectified within an hour or so. Hot tub was the icing on the cake, great after a day out in the cold. Welcome pack was fabulous.

Lovely stay

Lovely house and very spacious. hot tub was a nice treat. Rooms are spacious and most of the beds were comfy. Kitchen had everything we needed for our stay. Ideal location, 5 minute drive or 30 minute walk to the centre. Nice little touch or beer and biscuits for arrival

Lovely spot

The house was great, really well located for local amenities and walking / other activities in the area. The hot tub is a lot of fun and was lovely and clean. Kitchen well equipped. A couple of small areas that would benefit from maintenance e.g. loose toilet seats and some bathroom mould but nothing major. We’d return.

Very comfortable and spacious house and a fantastic quiet cul-de-sac. House was very nice and immaculate when we arrived. A short walk into Aviemore through lovely woods. 6 of us really enjoyed our holiday and would stay in Bracken House again.

A spacious comfortable house great location plus a hot tub

We thought this house was great value for money. It was spacious and well equipped. The hot tub was great. The added touch of Christmas tree and decorations was lovely and festive. We enjoyed the complementary robes We walked from the house and beyond. It is in a great location We would go again
