Love the place and location
I really loved this quaint little one bedroom flat right in the heart of Avilés. You couldn't ask for closer location to the main plaza. Just walk out and you are in an adult Disneyland. A charming old world experience. Beautiful and serene.
The only issue I had was that the property management does not respond to messages on Vrbo. I had an issue trying to check in as no one ever gave me a code to access the key and when I got there it took a few hours though Vrbo help line and some individual sleuthing to find the actual building owner and have him contact his daughter to get us the information I needed to get in. We never heard back from the property manager that manages the property for the owner.
The only reason I am giving a good review is that, once I was all checked in, the place was great and the location to everything and the experience outshined the difficulties.
The shower is very tight. So if you need space to take a shower, I suggest the other property downstairs. I heard it has a bigger shower.
Also, if you are traveling from the US. Bring an adapter for
your electronics. It is quite different in Europe. I went to the local hardware store and bought two for about $4 US.
Everything went well and I can't wait to return in November. Hope you enjoy your trip, wherever you may decide to stay. I do recommend this place, even though I went through what I did to get in.
Avilés is great. Enjoy Spain.
