Weekend Stay

Lovely visit

Lovely property with good facilities and off street parking (slightly tricky entrance but ok once we founf it). Basics available in terms of tea and milk etc and good information on lical ameneties.

Lovely accomodation in a lovely location

We loved our stay in Woodland cottage. Clean, cosy and in a beautiful location. We were happy with the service and particularly loved that we were able to bring the family dog along for a stay too.

Weekend away

Had a fantastic time here - the inlaws came from abroad and we wanted to get them out of the city. The cottage was fantastic - very high spec, cosy and plenty of space. beautiful location and accessible to the surrounding villages to explore the Cotswolds. The communication was great - quick, hellpful and accomodating. We had a wonderful time.

Wonderful stay

Cottage was fantastic, exactly what we were expecting from the photos and description. We had everything we needed for our stay and it was a wonderfully quiet location. Lots of walks from the door that our dog enjoyed. We walked tonthe HalfWay at Kineton for dinner one night and it was great. Highly recommend a stay here.

Fantastic

We had a super stay, it was a wonderful cottage close by to lots of beautiful towns. Would definitely come back to stay - the cottage was incredibly clean, and we appreciated the welcome hamper of recommendations in the area.

Handy quiet location

Lovely quiet location, accessible via decent sized roads (not a one track lane). The house had everything we needed, and we appreciated the toiletries and essential food cupboard items. We didn’t get to use the small outside space due to the weather, it is effectively in the driveway/parking area and there was an interesting smell at times (possibly from the septic tank). If I was wanting to spend time in the garden I would probably book a different property. Note that there is a larger house adjacent (using the same parking/driveway area) and also owned by Bolthole Retreats, this caused us no issues whatsoever, but flagging for anyone looking for a completely private property.

The Property Manager has advised that there may have been a slight residual odour following the recent emptying of the tank. In addition, an engineer has been arranged to attend the property to investigate the matter further and ensure it is fully resolved. Great base for a relaxed Cotswalds escape

Perfect Cotswalds escape for a relaxed few day with two great local pubs 3 minutes away in each direction. Very quiet and a lovely village atmosphere. Please note though it is advertised both online and in the accommodation manual as having a washer/dryer, there is no dryer to be found so if you are on a long trip and looking for a dryer, none is provided

Fantastic!

This is our second time at Woodland Cottage and we absolutely loved it again. It is very comfortable, lovely decorated, and very well situated. We met the owner who was also ready if needed anything. We must have stayed at about 10 Bolthole Retreats so far and this has been our favourite. We will definitely be back!

Lovely cottage in an ideal location

We had a wonderful stay at Woodland Cottage with a multigenerational group of 5 (the lower bedroom was ideal for older grandparents). It was very clean and modern inside, and had a nice sit out area as well as ample seating inside - the couches could probably do with an uplift - but other than that everything interior was lovely. It is also in a great location with many Cotswolds villages within a 20-30 minute drive and provisions within a 15 minute drive.

Great Cotswold base

This is our second stay at woodland cottage. We love the sociable downstairs layout and three bathroom arrangement. Perfect for meeting family as it’s mid way between our homes. Fantastic quiet location with walks for the dogs from the door.

Comfortable Stay in a great location

We had a wonderful stay in Woodland Cottage. The cottage is beautifully decorated and everything was there to make our stay easy. We used all three bedrooms and everyone commented on how comfortable the beds are. The towels were thick and fluffy and everything was spotless. There is a lovely little walk in the woods from the cottage. The Halfway House pub is a short drive away and we all loved our meal there with unmissable desserts. The cottage is centrally located to explore the Cotswolds by car. Thanks so much for hosting us!

A lovely Cotswold cottage in a quiet location. Comfortable accommodation with pristine linen and powerful showers. So great that they accept dogs. Very minor suggestion, could do with a potato peeler please .

A lovely property

The property is located in a very peaceful position with wonderful walks straight from the front door. It was spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds made up with excellent quality bed linen. The kitchen was well equipped with a large fridge and all the necessary equipment you need. Fresh eggs, milk and bread were a welcome addition. Three generations enjoyed our time at Woodland Cottage - a property we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

Woodland to The Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at Temple Guiting. However, we had to move from Woodland Cottage to The Cottage across the courtyard, due to issues with plumbing and electrics. The housekeeper and owner resolved the situation swiftly.

Pleasant cottage, in tiny village. Very well equipped

The cottage had a beautiful garden, and was Dog friendly, although with a terrier that digs i didn't trust it to be fully secure. It was great with every bedroom having their own bathroom and shampoo etc supplied. Beds were comfortable, although staying in a heatwave a fan would have been nice in the upstairs bedrooms as the heat was intense there. The cottage was clean and tidy with quality, furnishings and fixtures. Kitchen well equipped with everything could need and a welcome pack provided with eggs and bread. Only disadvantage was dogs not allowed on sofas, or upstairs, or to be left unattended, this wasn't clear until booking was made for being left or when we got there for furniture. We ended up shutting Dog in a small utility room where she whined most of evening! So not as Dog friendly as most dogs are used to. Upon checkout I left some stuff in the bedroom, which i went back for, on my way the owner was calling to inform me. Would I stay again? Yes if no dog.

Half Term Break

A really lovely break - superb cottage, well kept and very comfortable. What put this above other cottages we have stayed with is the little extras - cleaning equipment, oil, salt and pepper, spare light bulbs etc On arrival there was also bread, milk and eggs which was a lovely touch! Icing on the cake would have been a cream tea….. will leave that with you! Great base to explore the Cotswolds, would recommend the 4 mile circular walk and a visit to Batsford arboretum. 5* highly recommended.

The instruction for key location was incorrect, the details said that the key safe was by the side door however it was actually on the opposite side of the house and since we arrived in the dark this made a difference as it was difficult to locate. Toilet seats in two bathrooms need adjusting

A perfect family Christmas location

We celebrated an early Christmas at Woodland Cottage - 5 adults and 2 children and it was perfect for us. Angela personally welcomed us and had put up festive decorations which added to the warmth of the pretty cottage. The third bedroom with three single beds worked especially well and the three bathrooms were a big plus. I cooked a Christmas dinner and there were plenty of pots, pans, baking trays etc - unusual for a holiday cottage to be so well stocked. Much appreciated and dinner was delicious! The fresh local eggs provided were a real treat for breakfast too. The storms prevented us from doing too much in the area but it was so cosy in the cottage, it didn't really matter. Luckily we didn't lose power, although the wifi and phone signal was out of action. It really didn't matter - we played games, had fun and chatted. All in all a lovely stay and I'd definitely recommend it to other families.
