An hour before check in time, i messaged Vrbo, as i had not received any check in details. Vrbo said i should contact the host directly and not to worry . So i messaged the host and she told me she had been on vacation and the house was already booked by someone else. So, we were stranded with our family and there were no rooms available anywhere, unless we paid at least 3 times what we had already paid out. We were there to celebrate our daughter's 18th birthday. Vrbo offered us the guarantee refund but that is of little help when there's nowhere else suitable to stay.

No communication with owner

While the bedding and overall flat was clean, we were told there was off-street parking— there was not. There were no instructions whatsoever. We waited 2 hours for a text reply from the host before calling. The washing machine would not work. We waited An entire day to get help from the host for the washer and dryer— never a reply:The host

The property is conveniently located for Southmead Hospital, less than 10 mins walk. Generally clean. The front door lock is tricky and could do with being replaced. Kitchen is small but functional, oven and fridge could do with good clean. Cloakroom and washing machine, had a leak could not be used, handyman time keeping not great. Heating on all the time, day and night. Plant room quite noisy. Host good at responding to messages.
