The gliding club in Milfield offers a chance to experience gliding with a qualified instructor. St Cuthbert’s Way walking route and the Pennine Way National Cycle Route 68 are both close by. There are sea and river trips from Berwick harbour and to the Farne Islands from Seahouses. Don’t miss the castles of Alnwick, Bamburgh, and the dramatic, ruined Dunstanburgh, or wonderful sandy beaches, the closest being Goswick where there is also a fine links golf course. Take the train to Edinburgh or Newcastle, under an hour either way, from the walled border town of Berwick-on-Tweed, 15 miles, for a fun day in the city.
