A barn in an old farm, which has been converted into six terraced holiday cottages. Nothing else (except a riding school) is anywhere near, but the friendly farmer let us walk around his fields, and there is a great view over Berwick from the top of a nearby hill.
Contents are clean but a bit SCART-era. For example, there is no Wi-Fi. It isn’t listed, but surely these days its *absence* should be listed. You should ask come entirely self-sufficient - only a dribble in the bottom of a bottle of hand soap was provided, and no laundry powder etc; in this price bracket I’ve got used to not having to drive to a supermarket for toilet rolls during a weekend away.
There is only one shower, in the en-suite, and none of the bathroom doors lock. But we solved the previous reviewer’s problem with hot water. True, there is only enough in the tank for one bath, but there is an immersion heater with switch under the stairs that heats it up in about an hour.
Quiet and peaceful.
