Great location and view, but several issues affected our stay
Casa Vista da Praia Luz has a very central location and a fantastic view. Communication with Rental Valley was always friendly and polite.
Unfortunately, we experienced several issues. Most concerning was the terrace door, which could not be locked. We reported this on the day of arrival, but it was only repaired several days later after we contacted the agency again. For a significant part of our stay, the apartment therefore could not be fully secured.
We also found cockroaches in the bedroom and kitchen. We stayed in contact with Rental Valley, but no professional pest control took place during our stay. We therefore bought and placed traps ourselves and informed the agency. Fortunately, we did not see any further cockroaches afterwards.
There were also renovation works in the building complex, including work on other apartments and the roof, which we had not been informed about in advance. There was construction noise, scaffolding was erected directly next to our balcony, and workers were working immediately beside it. For at least one day, this significantly affected our privacy and made the balcony practically unusable. Rental Valley only informed us about the works after they had already started.
We also experienced two brief power outages.
Despite these issues, we enjoyed our holiday, especially the excellent location and view. However, considering the price of approximately €3,000, we did not feel the stay offered particularly good value for money. At this price level, we would expect security and maintenance issues to be resolved much more quickly and guests to be informed in advance about significant construction work.
