Our family of 4 along with grandma, all stayed at Villa St Lucia for a week. We rented both the upper and lower unit, giving us exclusive access to the private pool. The house was clean and roomy, and outfitted well. The pool was sparkling clear, and the deck area was much larger than the pictures, with about 7 or so loungers.
I believe the Villa St Lucia is the largest unit at the resort and the only one with it's own pool.
Since it was rainy season, we were glad to have the screened in pool patio and screened in upper living and kitchen area, particularly in the evening when the mosquitos were most active.
The house is nice, beds comfortable, and A/C in the bedrooms was a must in June.
The staff were awesome. Had a bedroom A/C unit stop working, and they had a repairman out the next day, who got it fixed. Office staff also set us up with an airport taxi and arranged to have our rental car delivered to us, after our flight was delayed 7 hours in Miami, causing us to arrive after dark. They correctly insisted we do the taxi after dark, because we would have never found our way in the dark. Glad they insisted, because they were right. Staff was also helpful with booking our sailing and fishing trips. Both were awesome (caught a 250 lb Blue Marlin).
From the Villa, 90% of the view of the water and boats in Marigot Bay is obscured by the trees and foliage, but it was beautiful just the same. Marigot Bay is awesome, with extremely nice (and pricey) restaurants just a minute or two away by ferry ride.
You must be able to climb stairs at this resort, since it is on the slope of a mountain. The villa is half way up the resort hill, and easily accessible from a trolley they have that takes you to the midpoint and top of the resort. But to get to the trolley you still have a dozen or so stairs to climb up. I was concerned grandma might have issues with the steps, but she's a trooper and had no issues.
Marigot Bay is also ideally located between the Capital city and the Pitons. It made for a great base for us to work out of to visit both.
If I had it to do over again, I would stay here 10 out of 10 times.
