Beautiful detached Lighthouse Cottage beside Roches Point Lighthouse which is a working lighthouse!

Spectacular views of both the Atlantic ocean and entrance to Cork Harbour - the second largest natural harbour in the world!

This is a true sanctuary, quiet and undisturbed. Exhale and recharge while you lazily watch beautiful sunsets over the ocean, wave at ships cruising into the harbour, or watch sea birds gather on the rocks below. You might even spot a cheeky seal or two, and on clear days you are bound to see some dolphins!

Roches Point was the last stop of the RMS Titanic before its fatal voyage...!

Golf: Five 18 hole golf courses within 15 mile radius including Fota Golf Club (home to Irish Open events) & Cork Golf Club to name a few.

Our stay at Roches Point Lighthouse was absolutely wonderful. The property is incredibly spacious and came fully equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Looking out to the sea was incredibly serene and beautiful a truly peaceful getaway. Highly recommended and Christian was a great host

The property was very clean and excellent. Or host Christian did a great job communicating everything we would need and answered our questions almost before we asked him. We were so thrilled with the accommodations and of course the view is spectacular from every angle. We would most happily recommend this place for anyone wanting a true Irish experience.

This was the most memorable part of our trip to Ireland. It was a cozy beautiful cottage and we never got tired of looking out at the ocean! Highly recommend as a respite from touring! Did not want for anything. Got groceries on the way and really did not want to leave! Everything in great working order.

Our stay here was the highlight of our trip to Ireland! The view is absolutely amazing!!! Words really can’t do it justice. The house is very clean and comfortable. The location is great. The gated nature of the lighthouse grounds gives you near total privacy, but it is a short distance from a number of restaurants and a grocery store. And, finally, Christiaan, the host, is super nice and helpful. We would definitely stay here again!

Among the most memorable places we've ever stayed, right up there with our Venice palazzo with its own canal water door and patio. The views and setting were as stunning as everyone says, and we were lucky enough to accidentally be there during a week that included both perfect weather and the best viewing location and conditions in Ireland for the 2026 eclipse. Our group of five adults appreciated the abundant comfortable seating and wonderful showers, as well as the excellent washing machine and dryer. The only thing we wished for was a larger fridge and a drying rack for dishes on the days when we cooked a big meal to share in the beautiful kitchen/dining room. Christiaan was a perfect host, responding quickly to any questions with the utmost kindness and good humor. We recommend this special cottage without hesitation. A real standout in our travels.

It was honestly the best place we ever stayed at: amazing view on the Celtic Sea/Atlantic Ocean, great location on the coast in the countryside and at the same time close enough to the city of Cork, several nice extras like binoculars, a great host who warns well in advance on any hickups, ... I would recommend it to anyone!

Walking in the front door was such a breathtaking moment when we saw the inside and the panoramic views from both sides of the home. Absolutely a “winning the lottery” choice for our first stay on this family vacation. We had a wonderful stay at the lighthouse! Watching the ships come and go was absolutely mesmerizing, I could have done it all day. The setting is so peaceful, and the lighthouse’s flashing light at night gave it such a unique charm. We truly loved our time here and can’t wait to come back! Check-in, kitchen facilities, Wi-Fi access, and transport access were all excellent.

The lighthouse cottage has spectacular views out each window. We stayed here eight years ago this time we rented it for three weeks, we loved it so much. Price has definitely increased. The mattresses are extremely hard & very uncomfortable. Only one bedroom has a queen. Second bedroom had two twins which we pushed together for my daughter & her partner. The third bedroom has just one twin. The kitchen refrigerator is quite small, so we made frequent trips to the grocery store. Having laundry at the cottage was so nice. Our favorite restaurants were Sea Church & Salty dog in Ballycotton. The Schooner Pub had live music one night which was lovely. Spike the old black lab is a neighborhood favorite. My daughter's boyfriend bought him a ball to play with which he loved. We purchased fresh vegetables down the road at the vegetable stand which was delicious in a chicken soup we made. The wind can be quite fierce up at the lighthouse cottage. The front wooden lounge chairs almost blew off the cliff. We saved them in the nick of time. I would recommend replacing the lock on the patio entrance door. It can be quite difficult to get in. We enjoyed our return visit to the lighthouse cottage. The views are mesmerizing.

Hi MaryJo, Sounds like you had a wonderful 3 weeks, glad to hear and thank you for rescuing the lounge chairs! Yes, the wind can be quite fierce at times. Spike always loves a bit of attention and he is definitely acts as the neighbourhood watch! Re the beds: The queen bed mattress is less than a year old and is the same mattress we use in our own home, sorry to hear it was too stiff for you. Also, you'd be glad to hear that we are completely redoing the kitchen in Oct which will see a larger fridge installed! Hopefully that makes for fewer trips to the shops. A true gem!

We absolutely loved staying at the Lighthouse Cottage - a true hide away - quiet and serene! It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, and the main bedroom overlooking the harbour entrance was a special treat! The two single bedrooms were more than sufficient for our adult family members.We can't wait to come back next year!

Unbeatable views all around us on both sides of the house. We had a small problem accessing the house because we got the wrong kitchen door keys, but Christiana responded quickly to our phone call and told us to access the back doors. The doors our very difficult to figure out how to open and lock due to the proximity to the ocean. The lighthouse was about 40 minutes from Cork, Blarney Castle and Cobh. We received a very helpful online welcome guide with tips for attractions, grocery shops and restaurants. The house was comfortable and clean and had a lot of character. My husband enjoyed exploring the grounds. It was a unique experience to see the lighthouse beacon flashing every night. The bathroom near the back door didn't have much storage; a sink with a cabinet like what was in the other bathroom would work much better. Overall, a great place to spend a few nights visiting the Cork area.

Lighthouse Cottage

The cottage has beautiful views of the Irish Sea. The rooms were nicely designed with comfortable furniture. It was so nice and relaxing coming back to the cottage after a day of sightseeing. Our host Christian was so attentive and responded immediately, especially when we could not figure out the Wi-Fi. We all absolutely loved the cottage!

Stunning views

The light house cottage exceeded our expectations. The views were stunning. The cottage is surrounded by ocean on three sides. The cottage is updated and clean with all the comforts of home. I highly recommend this property. The host, Christiaan is to get in touch with and very helpful.

If you’re looking for a unique and idyllic place to stay in Ireland look no further than this wonderful cottage next to Roches Point lighthouse. Wake up every morning to look at the ocean and ships out of the large window. Go to the local pub and have a pint of Guinness and listen to the music. Talk to the locals and enjoy! We had a wonderful vacation in Roches Point lighthouse cottage.

This place is amazing!! Christiaan was so helpful and responded very quickly to any questions we had. Only suggestion I have is to make sure you arrive before dark as it can get a bit confusing. Otherwise this is a MUST STAY for anyone needing a quiet sea side escape or even a home base for day trips around the country. Thank You Christiaan for an amazing experience!!

Unique lighthouse retreat

This is a truly special place. The views from both front and back of the cottage are spectacular. We were lucky to have amazing weather during our stay and could enjoy the boats, the birds and the amazing scenery, ocean and harbour views. We could have sat all day looking at the views but there is plenty to explore with beautiful walks from the cottage as well as nearby towns and villages. The cottage is clean, comfortable and cozy. Christiaan was an excellent host and responded quickly to any minor questions we had. We felt so relaxed and rejuvenated after our stay and can’t wait to hopefully return again soon.

Absolutely stunning stay at Roche’s Point – unforgettable views!

Our stay at the cottage near Roche’s Point was even better than we had hoped. The highlight was without a doubt the breathtaking view – it’s truly something special and made every moment feel like a peaceful escape from daily life.The cottage itself is very comfortable and well-equipped for self-catering. There’s a good kitchen setup, and while the fridge is on the smaller side, there's also a freezer. Do keep in mind that a car is essential for getting around, and restaurant options in the area need a bit of planning. But with such a great place to stay and cook, we didn’t mind at all.All in all, this was one of the most memorable and relaxing stays we’ve had. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a quiet getaway in a spectacular location!

Truly Lovely Lighthouse Cottage

This is one of the loveliest places to stay! Stunning views of the sea (whether sunny or rainy) and a cosy, comfortable “home away from home” to view it from. The cottage has everything you need to cook, eat, sleep, and relax. We loved Christiaan’s Welcome Guide - filled with useful apps (the ship app was great to know the ships passing by), local recommendations (well stocked grocery store 10 mins away) and places to visit around Ireland. We used all the time we had to explore near and far - and still managed to see a few seals from the cottage! Thank you for everything :) We’d love to come back!

Slice of heaven

Much like the puffin, who can remain perfectly content in a little crevice on a cliff, no matter the weather or tides, this little cottage offers more than solace and peace, regardless the weather outside. From booking, to the day of check out, we only had joy. The only hard part was checking out, only because all good things have to come to an end, sadly...This place offers everything you will need for a week or weekend break away. The area lends itself to activities that would suit all ages and ranges from walking distance to a quick drive.There are also a good selection of restaurants and pubs nearby, but once again it's fully kitted for self service for a family.We can't wait to book our next visit!

My brother and I stayed here for 11 days while visiting Ireland, and it was absolutely wonderful. The cottage was clean, spacious, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather most days, and the sunrises and sunsets were truly breathtaking.What made this stay even more special was that it’s located at a working lighthouse — such a unique and peaceful setting. We spent our days exploring castles, cathedrals, and pubs — there was always something amazing to see. We did take one day just to relax at the cottage, reading, cooking, and doing puzzles while enjoying the peaceful view. It was the perfect mix of adventure and downtime.It was such a treat to start each morning with tea in the front room or out on the deck overlooking the ocean. Having a washer and dryer was a big plus — we were able to do laundry midway through our trip, which was so convenient. We also loved watching the ships come and go and using the binoculars to look out over the water — more fun than you’d think!I would highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. It made our Ireland trip even more special.

Uns hat es in dem Cottage super gefallen. Es war alles vorhanden, was man braucht und die Aussicht war fantastisch.

Wat een perfect huis met een fantastische ligging naast de vuurtoren (zie foto) om vakantie te vieren. Alles was tip top in orde en schoon. Prima bedden, een goed uitgeruste keuken twee heerlijke ruimtes om te zitten en een mooi terras. Het uitzicht op zee aan beide kanten van het huis is echt geweldig. Wakker worden en vanuit je bed met een kopje koffie of thee de zee zien, zo fijn! Communicatie met Christiaan was uitstekend, vragen werden zeer snel beantwoord. Speciaal compliment voor de digitale info over het huis met verschillende links.In de omgeving zijn prachtige wandelpaden langs de kust bv in Ballycotton (zie foto's). Accommodatie zeer aan te bevelen als je van rust en de zee houdt.
