Nestled in the tranquility of Giurdignano, just a few kilometers from the enchanting beaches of Otranto, Casa Riad Impluvium is a charming residence, somewhat in the style of an impregnable riad, surrounded by high walls, with its beautiful Arab-inspired inner courtyards. The setting is enchanting; time passes to the tolling of the bells from the nearby church, and you can enjoy the cool, fragrant summer evenings outdoors.

The beating heart of the residence is the inner courtyard, an oasis of peace and conviviality. Here, a majestic palm tree stands in the center, overlooking the pool that invites you to take a refreshing dip on hot summer days. The courtyard is the ideal place to relax, read a book, or enjoy an aperitif at sunset.

Casa Riad Impluvium consists of two distinct yet complementary buildings arranged around the inner courtyard with its pool. The main palace, dating back to the 18th century, retains the charm of that era intact, with its vaulted rooms and original white stucco. The Casina, built in 2003, echoes the simple lines and Mediterranean warmth of the palace, offering bright and welcoming spaces.

Both the main palace and the Casina are spread over two floors.
The first floor of the main palace features a spacious kitchen with a fireplace that opens comfortably onto the inner courtyard, a double bedroom with stone beds, a bathroom with shower, a dining room, and a beautiful living room with a fireplace and built-in sofas, comprising two areas—one with a barrel vault and the other with a star vault. A stone staircase leads to the first floor, which consists of three bedrooms: a master suite with an en-suite bathroom/shower and a private sitting area, a double bedroom, and a single bedroom that share a bathroom/shower, as well as a beautiful panoramic terrace furnished with garden furniture, a hammock, and a pergola overlooking the inner courtyard.
On the first floor, La Casina features a large, bright living area with an open kitchen that opens through two large arches onto the inner courtyard with a swimming pool, as well as a double or twin bedroom and a bathroom with shower. On the first floor, accessible exclusively via an exterior staircase (there is no internal connection), there are two connecting bedrooms—one with twin beds and the other with a double bed—which share a bathroom with shower and a small terrace overlooking the village of Giurdignano.
Rounding out the property, in the basement—accessible from the courtyard—is a comfortable spa with a hot tub, sauna, and restroom, perfect for moments of pure relaxation.

Giurdignano is a village of 1,700 inhabitants situated in the heart of vast olive groves and just 6 km from Otranto. It is famous for its megalithic monuments—dolmens and menhirs—the archaeological site known as “La Centoporte,” crypts, and two Neolithic (2nd millennium B.C.) underground tombs.

Good to Know
- The house is located in the heart of the historic center. Therefore, it is not possible to park your car in the immediate vicinity. However, free public parking is available a short distance away.
- Since the house is adjacent to the church, you may hear the sound of the bells marking the time during the day.

Important Information

The weekly rate includes: the initial supply of bed and bath linens; water, gas, and electricity usage up to a maximum of 200 kWh per week (any excess will be charged to the guests at a rate of €0.50 per kWh). Not included and to be paid upon arrival: final cleaning, which amounts to €300.00; the tourist tax.

Security deposit: €1,000.00. Small and medium-sized pets are allowed at a cost of €50.00 each. Smoking is not permitted inside the house.

In accordance with regulatory provisions, a tourist tax of €1 per person per day is required from January 1 through December 31. Children under 12, people with disabilities, and their companions are exempt.
