La Forada - mountain view

Penya Foradà or Foradada, located at an altitude of 737.2 m, is the most representative landscape feature of the Vall de la Gallinera, characterized by the presence, in its upper part, of a natural opening, in the form of a stone arch, very visible from different points in the valley.
Twice a year you can witness the solar alignment of La Foradada, or Foradà, in the Gallinera Valley. This astronomical phenomenon occurs when the sun passes through the opening at the summit of Penya Foradà. Its rays penetrate the arch in such a way that they illuminate the Calvary of Benitaia, where the Franciscan convent of Sant Andreu once stood.
