So first the bad, and only bad. Upon arrival there was no security to let us in. We waited between 30 and 45 minutes for the security guard to arrive and let us in. Eventually the guard arrived and we gained entry to the condo.
First impression was, AMAZING. The view cannot be described. We have the mountains, the sea, a view of Los Arcos, and the entire bay. Then sunset!
In the morning we awoke to the sound of waves. Setting on the balcony we could see a few large rays swimming along the beach. The first 2 days the beach was very calm, even the littles could enjoy the beach without getting slammed by huge waves. The next couple of days were a different story. A storm had passed off the coast bringing HUGE wave. some crested as much as 10 feet by my estimate. We tried to avoid the beach those days and found things to do in town. The last few days of our stay the waves calmed and the beach was back to normal. I would suggest water shoes as the beach is constantly changing. When we arrived the beach was 99% sand, no rock to be see. After the storm, the sand had washed away and the rocks were hard on the feet. Most of the beach was fine, but when you entered the water, the rocks piled up, however if you walked a bit you could find a place to enter the water were there were fewer rocks. I was told by residents, the beach is constantly changing, so as stated bring water shoes. Also in certain months be weary of where you step, you might end up stepping on turtle eggs.
The condo is a bit of a drive from town, however Taxis are almost always to be found across the street. There is an OXXO (convenience store) nearby, and it would be within walking distance, however there is no safe place to walk along the roads, so I would suggest a taxi. Also due to the distance from the condo to Walmart or other grocery type stores, I would suggest a shopping trip on one of your first days if you plan to cook in the condo. Avoid Walmart and find a local market.
For dinner and lunch we found the beach front dinner nearby to be some of the best food in all of PV. As you walk onto the beach turn left and walk about 5 minutes, first impressions of the restaurant is it's very rustic, and maybe intimidating if you are not a seasoned traveler. The food and drinks were great! The staff was friendly and the service was excellent.
The last thing I would offer is to make sure you get plenty of Pesos from an ATM, not a money changer. Pay for everything in cash. God Bless!
