The beautiful villages of Zell am See and Kaprun lie in the Pinzgau region of Salzburgerland, boasting year-round adventures. Mountains, lakes, rivers, and pristine nature are a natural paradise.
The village of Zell am See sits on the beautiful glacier lake Zell (Zeller See) nestled under the Schmittenhöhe Mountain. The traffic-free Altstadt is a lovely spot to spend the day browsing through the shops or eating at one of the lovely restaurants and cafes.
Kaprun sits in the valley of the Kitzsteinhorn Glacier, surrounded by mountains and lush valleys, and is part of the Hohe Tauern National Park. The park was established in 1981 and covers a landscape of high mountains, deep valleys and lakes more than 1800 km.
In Summer, Zell am See-Kaprun offer amazing summer activities- leisurely walks, hiking, biking, golfing and water sports- all with a backdrop of a breathtaking panorama.
In Kaprun, The Maiskogel and Kitzsteinhorn mountains, Sigmund Thun Klamm and The High Alpine Reservoirs provide breathtaking scenery and a multitude of different walks and hikes.
From the summit of Zell am See’s Schmittenhöhe Mountain, you will be amazed at the views down to glistening Lake Zell and up to thirty 3,000m mountains can be seen, including Kitzsteinhorn, Groβglockner and Groβvenediger of the Hohe Tauren Range and to the east the Steinernes Meer.
