Not to be weird but we are no strangers to short-term rentals. We own one and we’ve stayed in so many over the years from Milan to Sicily, New York to California so I hope you will believe me when I say if you are going to Houston, Fred's cottage is the PERFECT place to stay...especially if you are accompanied by your four-legged family members and need to be central. I honestly rate this rental on par with a charming apartment in the heart of Florence or a beach bungalow in Malibu. Seriously.
It is centrally located in a vibrant and beautiful neighborhood, walking distance to so many of Houston’s top museums and a hop away from so many restaurants/pubs. It is an easy jump to almost anywhere in Houston as it is close to freeway access.
It is an oasis. Tucked into a lush garden with secure gates, it makes you feel as if you were at some countryside estate. Yet, you are not…you are in downtown Houston!
It was comfortable and more-than spacious…much bigger than we anticipated. The ambiance is homey and well appointed--straight out of a page from Architectural Digest. I could have spent days happily thumbing through the hundreds of art books, literature and architecture/interiors books at hand.
For our short stay of 2 nights, we did not need to cook but the kitchen was perfectly stocked in case we did want to cook or entertain. There is a large round table to sit your guests around inside as well as a grill and umbrella’d dining area on the porch…along with a quaint seating area that, if it were not the summer, we would have LOVED to have enjoyed our coffee and breakfast.
The bed was very comfortable with high-end, soft sheets, a variety of pillows and crisp blankets. There were ample towels for both us AND our dog.
Most of all, Fred was the consummate host. He was prompt, communicative and generous. We had been on the road so the multitude of snacks awaiting our arrival was very appreciated…nuts, bread, cheese, crackers, chips, yogurt, fruit, bottled water and a yummy bottle of wine!
You cannot go wrong booking this cottage and enjoying the sweet ambiance, peaceful neighborhood and easy access. THANK YOU FRED!!
