Could not find a better beach for a 2 1/2 yr old right out your door. and good snorkeling for adults 10 min walk away

What a wonderful place!

We were amazed upon our arrival. The beach is just beyond the front yard...what a sight! There was plenty of room and waking up to crashing waves was so relaxing. I highly recommend staying here!

Fantastic!

Perfect location for our family which included a 4 year old and an 8 year old! Can't get any closer to the beach and the ocean, with beautiful sunsets as an added bonus. Loved the property. Would stay again, and again and again.....

not modern but comfortable

We had a nice stay. The house is very outdated, but we had a good time. The small beach right in front of the house was always very busy, with many families with small children there. Unfortunately, there was not much shade, but we were able to protect ourselves from the sun with towels hung up.

Great house to stay in!

This house was amazing. The beach is right in front of you. Sunset views, the ocean, all really nice. The house is very easy to relax in and has everything that you need. Very clean, well appointed. No concerns. Just bring your trunks and enjoy the relaxation!

Baby Beach Bliss

We had a fabulous time at Hale Ohe right on Baby Beach. The house was immaculate and well stocked, we ate nearly all our meals on the beautiful porch overlooking the ocean, and it was close to Poipu but away from all the hotel action. Perfect for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers, but would suit a family including ALL ages. YES - we did see babies on the beach every day !! 💜

Location is AWESOME!

Cannot get any closer to the beach than this! Location, location, location! Also, super responsive with communication. Cannot go wrong with rental. One small caveat- there is a walkway directly beside house. Resulted in vehicles parking around the property and people walking in and out. (Small annoyance compared to everything else)

Aloha Sue, we are happy to hear that you felt one cannot go wrong with Hale Ohe! This property is literally the closest beachfront rental in Poipu. Since the beach is a popular public beach, known as Baby Beach due to its safety/protective reef, it can get a little busy at times, especially on the weekends. There is a State of Hawaii public beach access path between Hale Ohe and it's neighbor to the west. Over the years no guests have reported any problems or issues due to this and the majority don't mind it at all. We look forward to hosting you again in the future. Mahalo!

Beach front.

Flakes fell off the ceiling in the 2nd bedroom the whole time we were there. It got in my hair at night, it was all over the comforter and the floor. The toilet paper holders are not very sturdy. The showers could use updating. The location was beautiful and stunning. We loved the views.

The house has been updated quite a bit since the listing photos were taken. It's clean, the location can't be beat, and the house was outfitted with everything we could possibly need. Garden Island Rentals was wonderful and had great communication throughout our stay. We're already planning our next trip to Kauai and there's no place else we'd rather stay than Hale Ohe.

Stupendous beach location!!! Home dated but great beach style!

Location absolutely amazing ...especially with grandchilren!!!We had one big request that was NOT MET...CEILING FAN IN MASTER BEDROOM DID NOT WORK. The said they would send electrician and DID NOT!AND WE SHARED THAT THIS WAS OUR ACTUAL 50TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY AND NOT ONE THING WAS DONE OR SHARED BY THE RENTAL COMPANY TO CELEBRATE THAT!!! ANOTHER stay location..hotel or home would have surely celebrated with us!!!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Six of us spent 12 very relaxing, fun days here. The location can't be beat, especially if you have children with you -- you are literally on the beach. We spent a lot of time dining on the deck, staring at the ocean, spying sealife. Baby Beach is aptly named, perfect for small children, and we did see a lot of sealife, including turtles, as we snorkeled along the rocks (the snorkeling area next to the Beach House restaurant an easy few blocks away is even better!). For easy access swimming, you'll want to go elsewhere. The house is well stocked, bed are very comfortable. Better kitchen knives would be a big plus. It does sleep 6, but 6 adults/older teens would be difficult privacy wise. Really, you rent this place for the location and we were very, very happy with our stay.

Reviewer Comments: We have stayed in two different homes over the past few years with garden island rentals both have been amazing, but it is sure hard to beat a home on the beach. Not only was the house and a location a perfect point to hang out or explore the south side of the island. The folks at Garden island were also nice enough to let us have a late checkout which helped made it up for one full day that we lost due to our airlines canceling a connecting flight. After two experiences with this company, I would not hesitate to recommend to anyone Mahalo D Price

We live in Colorado, and we left a lot of very cold weather there. We have seen Hale Ohe' be well maintained and cared for all these years. It is just a delightful place to be. The beach is so beautiful, and the sunsets are beyond compare. This little house has everything for a quiet restful experience.
