Some times I am in country at the house and find guest visiting other parts of the county just prior to my departure. In those cases I almost always invite them to come a day early at no cost to them and show them around for half a day. Then have my in house, care takers Perla and Vanessa treat them to a gourmet dinner on me. This season alone it has happened three times. The next morning I take off to the airport reluctantly and my guest get off to a great jump start. Mel Norrbom

Thank you very much for the review on the property and staying with us. We are glad you enjoyed your stay. I wanted to take this opportunity to address your concern with the A/C. The main area of the house is set up to be an open area house, meaning that when the windows and doors are opened, the breeze that comes off the ocean less than 100 feet away from the house keeps it at a steady temperature. The bedrooms are setup a bit differently with A/C units to ensure that a cool nights sleep is provided. My staff never reported any communication regarding light bulbs or any other issue with the house. The staff is there 24/7 for concerns like this or any other guest needs. Again, we appreciate the review and that you enjoyed your stay with us and are here if you ever want to join us again.

A kind and compassionate guest. He came to the house with his wife and two sisters that had a restful time and enjoyed the blessings of kindness that yahaira our resident housekeeper and interim chef provided. She learned many new recipes from my wife Perla and international chef for my wife Perla before she tragically died two weeks ago when my 102-year-old mom and I were leaving Costa Rica just before the arrival of Tom and his wife. Cody our Waterman did what he usually does meeting all of their needs during their stay. I wish I had more guests as kind-hearted and joyful as this family. Sincerely Mel

What can I say. First off we pray for all of our guests or at least I do. This family unit was emblematic of the family units that we cater to, grandparents parents and grandchilding. In this case the family was very much interested in rest and the two boys were interested in being out on the water at every moment. I would say 99% of their needs were met both parent-wise and children wise. We are not a swingers place and do not encourage people who are more interested in going heavy duty Wild Ned and Lucinda were very kind and dealing with me living on site upstairs and on several stories about to allow more guests to come and enjoy the Lord's beautiful creation. The boys told me many times over and over again we're coming back we're coming back and I said Lord willing Ned and Lucinda will be able to come back again at the appropriate time. Well It was the first for Daniel and myself. In conversations the week before is visit to the house he let me know that he was considering buying property down there. Being a real estate agent myself I couldn't not share with him my 40 years in Costa Rica. I told him all about more virgin properties South of my home two to three hours away and everything up to my own local neighborhood. In closing with those conversations I said make sure you don't spend all your time looking at property because you're bringing your sweetheart with you and I want the two of you to have personal time. As it turned out they were late getting off the plane and after many hours of waiting for them my staff which was providing the airport transport and myself we're informed at the same time that his sweetheart was not going to be allowed entry into the country because her passport was expiring in 5 months and they required 6 months. Oh what a mess. Daniel pleaded with me now is there somebody that you know that can get her out of customs. Of course this was on on the weekend and even if I had been able to talk with my attorney down there the likelihood was minimal. But Daniel said tell me what to do.? I said let her go back on the plane and you come home with us.. As it turned out Cody ended up being the best buddy of Daniel throughout his 7-Day stay. Daniel went back into house hunting mode and was blessed by finding a home actually just down the street made an offer which was accepted the next week. The part I didn't tell you was that when I told him, Daniel you just stay and let her go home was that I had invited them to come back at no cost to them and at my expense for a week, to do nothing but enjoy the country. It was the following week just as he arrived back in Quebec Canada that he got that answer of yes they had accepted his offer. In closing Daniel had a great time that week and has made plans to come back for 2 weeks the first half of April with his soulmate and will have purchased a townhome just down the street from me. What can I say? Great guests six children two parents and grandparents. We love to host groups like this. As I have told many we are culturally significant even Bohemian to a certain extent. Yes we have an open air house. Apart from ants etc that love to see if there's any morsels left out there are any morsels left out we've even had visits from huge grasshoppers the occasional gecko and as for myself in December we had a visit from a bevy a baby turtles that met me at the beachside front door trying to get in. The story of how we corralled them and got them into the ocean is for another day. Costa Rica is known for having 5% of all the animal species and plant species in the world so be ready to see and sometimes visit with much of God's created blessings. Little by little we are working through our guest that got caught in a covid issue. In fact we even have people as far back as 2019 that have backed up their dates three and four times since the pandemic started. Is all about how we try and serve our guests to the best of our abilities. No one has lost any money today and Lord willing we will continue to be able to serve guests and meet all of their needs. Every guest has different needs and for this group privacy was a primary concern. Perla and Cody had many more services they could could have rended although we were thankfull that the welcoming dinner Perla made was appreciated as well as her wonderful white sauce that she made for the lobster dinner she cooked for the entire group on the last night there, as well as Codys beachfront bonfire. Each of them had more attributes of service they could have rendered as you can see from all of our reviews. We follow the lead of our guests and trying meet their needs. Dear future guests, I think this is probably only the second time that I have ever done an a review of guests comments. In our case compared to many other rentals we do have a no-refund policy. Taking that into consideration nobody has ever lost their money regardless of the circumstances at hand. In one case husband was an avid off road motorcyclist probably trying to keep up with his boys and got busted up pretty badly. it took a year-and-a-half for them to eventually get down there because of the long recuperative time. I believe he got teased incessantly by all the family members as they neared the trip dated the following season. We pray for all of our guests before and during the time of their stay and during the time of their stay. In this case I encouraged Cheri to pray with her young kids regarding whether school date closures and other factors which continued to make the likelihood of the trip more unlikely to happening this seasonas time moved on. After numerous attempts at getting it together we ended up getting them all set for next season exact same dates for Easter. For nearly a dozen guests that couldn't go to this season we have worked out different months, and years by staying in touch buy phone by messaging and by email throughout this crisis Corona virus pandemic. We do our best efforts in moving our guests two and three times and leave the rest to the Lord. Sincerely, Mel
