We bought the condo for Cindy's mom back in 2006. She lived there with Sugar (her Westie) until Sugar lost her eyesight and she couldn't carry her up the stairs. She moved in with us for a short time, but she really likes her independence, so she found a "granny flat" and moved in - just a couple blocks from us.
We decided to turn the condo into a vacation home. We did some upgrades, furnished it and stocked it. We've had so many happy vacationers stay with us and we're glad to be able to provide a nice home away from home!
I feel that you will find our home to be a nice place to live with a luxury feel. As an engineer, I like quality products, so many of the upgrades are probably too good for a rental property, but I feel it adds a nice touch. We plan to retire here and I want to live in a quality home. For instance, the entry way has real slate stone, which I chose and laid myself. The paint combination was also my choice - I wanted it to be lively and bright without feeling brash or having odd colors reflected. The flooring throughout the home is also my choice (less the master bathroom). I like the look of the planks - it feels both modern and rustic! And the scraped wood effect gives it a high end look and feel.
The master bedroom is set up to be a quiet getaway. The bed has a high grade, premium mattress that's both soft and comfortable. We have solid wood furniture in the bedroom - a nice plus. And I also installed a soft heat baseboard heater - it provides a cozy warmth to the room!
The bathroom fixtures are high quality. Kohler, Speakman, Delta and Grohe are just a few of the companies I chose. Even the paint we use is good quality - I found out about a special type of Behr paint called Marquee. It's the best paint I've ever used - it flows well, leaves a thin yet strong film. No fading, peeling or losing texture/sheen. And it cleans well!
