Comfortable and convenient!

Five friends enjoyed our visit to Ludlow, VT. We stayed for the weekend and attended a concert festival at Okemo, a 7 minute drive away. The place had everything we needed and more. It was clean and the beds were sooo comfortable! Walked around the neighborhood and ate at a local restaurant for a delicious Sunday brunch on the way out of town.

Vermont weekend

Great location in town and close to shuttle. Able to walk to restaurants. Host very responsive and answered quickly. Comfortable beds. Great for 5 adults. Easily fit 3 cars in driveway.

Just as described

Great location, very communicative host. Listing was jusy as described. Worked perfectly for a ski trip with the mountain just a 4 minute drive away. 1 block from town as well.

Great Stay!

This was a beautiful, clean, comfortable property to stay at! The beds are INSANELY comfortable. The bathrooms and kitchen were clean and nice. We were sad we only stayed one night. Would definitely stay here again!

Very much enjoyed it

We loved our stay. The house was very clean and very cozy. It’s in a great part of town. Very quite street, and a very quick walk to the restaurants and stores. We were very happy with our choice and would stay there again. I would have given 5 stars if the dishwasher had been working, but that was our only complaint.

Location Location Location

This property was great. We went the weekend to ski and it was only 3 mins from okemo. It is an easy walk to the downtown restaurants. My wife and kids had a blast and we really enjoyed the location.

Great Location

This was a wonderful house with a great location, within walking distance of downtown shops. Close to Okemo and within 40 minutes of other skiing locations. Would recommend for people who want a ski getaway.

Perfect for our group

The location was idea. The shuttle to Okemo was right next door and came every 1/2 hour. We walked to downtown restraints! The house was so cute and had everything we needed. My favorite was enough fluffy towels for 8 tired skiers. We would definitely stay again!

Clean and Comfortable

Arrived late and left early; just stayed one night so can't fully review it. Didn't even use the kitchen except for the Keurig machine. The house was clean, the beds were comfortable, and the kitchen seemed well appointed. Would stay again if we return to Ludlow.

Cute home and very clean

My family stayed here for 2 nights. We booked last minute and Wendy was so accommodating on such short notice. The house was very clean and adorable. We loved the barn door on the bathroom. The kids loved the attic bedroom. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there and not many restaurants/things to do were open. Next time we plan to come in the summer or fall. We’ll definitely stay in this house again.

Fall in Vermont

We stayed in this lovely duplex the end of September 2018. The place is exactly as pictured and spotless. It is an easy walking distance to restaurants, bars, and shops. The grocery is just a quick trip away. It is centrally located to so many places. We drove everywhere from here. We visited Woodstock, Calvin Coolidge's birthplace, and visited a lovely farm that made several different kinds of cheese and had a sugarbush for the making of their maple syrup. We will stay here again when we return to Vermont.

Unkept home

Arrived at property and house was dirty, as were the bathrooms and beds slept on and unmade. House was not ready for tenants. Owner failed to check on cleaning crew to make sure that the house was clean for our arrival. Did not end up staying there, had a hard time trying to find an accomodation at another location.that night. I did not like the house, it is not what they advertise

Cute!

On a quiet street that runs parallel to the main rd for the little tiny downtown nearby- we walked through the backyard to get to the restaurants/shops- super convenient. Love the gas fireplace inside. House was warm and welcoming. Note, the 3rd floor (4 twin beds) has steep small steps leading up to and slanted ceilings- yet 4 grown adult women still stayed together in that room like we were having a slumber party, lol. Had everything we needed for movie watching (throw blankets) and cooking breakfast. A few times we heard a few scary loud thumps and a dog barking- thinking maybe the people checking in next door (it’s a duplex)? Such a great stay though. Thanks, Wendi!

Super clean and comfortable.

We enjoyed our second trip skiing in Vermont. This property was great for skiing during the week. The shuttle was not running like we thought it would. That was disappointing, but not the fault of this property owner. Long lines waiting to get to parking on the weekends. We noticed the shuttle working on Sunday. We heard some talk about labor shortages so maybe that’s why it wasn’t running as stated. It didn’t show up Friday, or Saturday at the times on the schedule. If you want American pie pizza you have to order before 12 noon. The heat was not working properly, but it was fixed very quickly and we stayed comfortable with the fireplace and the space heater. Super clean and comfortable. We highly recommend this property. Rob and Viv

Weekend Skiing

We had a great time this weekend in Ludlow skiing at Okemo - although a little cold but nothing anyone can do about that. We purposely picked this place to be on the Okemo Village bus route to take to the slopes each day as that was very convenient the previous year. Due to COVID, those are not running this year so had to drive a park at Okemo. Again, not the property manager's fault but letting people know. The place was clean and nice and very interesting how they made the space work. Only negative is if you are over 6 foot and trying to take a shower. There is a manageable option but the showers were a bit tight. No concerns on staying warm as the fire place gave out plenty of heat, plenty of blankets to utilize and very warm bedding on the beds. As well as a Nest system to adjust the heat. The dishwasher is a unique set up under the sink. I would call it a 1 meal dishwasher - meaning 1 meal will fill it with dishes but plenty of dish soap was supplied so we ran it after each meal. The house is convenient to walk to many restaurants. We did not get to utilize that as much given the COVID restrictions on places and super cold weather. Looking forward to next year and hopefully minus the COVID restrictions.

This place was great! Convenient and clean. The beds were soooo comfy! We walked to town for groceries and dined out in town. We were there for a concert at Okemo which was just a few minutes away. We planned on hanging out back at the fire. Unfortunately, it rained so we hung out in the warm and inviting living room with a fire in the fireplace!!

The North House Lodge is the showcase home for a popular DIY Home Improvement and Home Decor website, H2OBungalow. Wendi works and travels between Florida and Vermont creating unique and useful tutorials on how to fix up a home and decorate stylishly on a budget.

I traveled through the area in the summer of 2015 and fell in love with Vermont and the area. That fall my husband and I found an old duplex built in 1835. It had great bones, lots of natural sunlight and plenty of potential to make it a unique getaway infused with character. Ludlow and its surrounding towns and attractions made the location perfect for a year-round destination that families and friends could enjoy. The old home was in rough condition but structurally sound. All it needed was creative updating and ingenuity. After a year plus of hard work, many hours of labor and lots of projects behind us, we are happy to introduce the North House Lodge.

We aren't done yet! Is a project house ever really done? Visit us each season to see what's new and what we've changed.
