14 of us all had tons of room and bed space, no waiting for showers, everything we needed to cook and serve in the kitchen. Lots of storage in the bedrooms and even an option to drop luggage in storage before check in. We had places to park several cars. The walkable food, coffee, groceries options really sealed the deal for us and we had a ton of fun.

Great option for a group stay

We stayed at this property as a retreat-type trip. It had a great space for hanging out as a group indoors and outdoors as well as enough bedrooms to find a quiet space. The neighborhood was great, walkable restaurants and coffee spots.

Great Location, Comfort, and Communication

My husband and I rented this pair of houses for a 35th anniversary celebration. The hosts were communicative, and the property itself was comfortable, spacious, and well designed. Most Portland sites that we wanted to visit were just a short drive away, and those who chose to explore on foot around the property found plenty to interest them, including a quirky taxidermy shop. We would definitely choose this rental again for a similar function.

We had an amazing time staying at this property! We rented both houses and it was set up so perfectly. Everyone had lots of space and the communal spaces to gather were great. Walkable to lots of restaurants, cafes, etc. We had a fantastic time!

Great place for family

We were in town for a wedding. Many of the brides family stayed here. We could walk to all the wedding venues as well as numerous bars and restaurants. The kitchen in the back house was great for family dinners and games. Everyone loved it. So much better than a hotel.

Great complex

Two awesome buildings that were clean and very accommodating. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. Close to just about everything interesting in Portland, after a 5-10 minute Uber ride.

Great setup, great location!

These units were a great option for our "Big Family" reunion! The configuration of bedrooms, common areas, and amenities worked out great for us - our group of 13 adults and 4 kids aged 3-68 were all quite comfortable! Walking distance to lots of things with options for all - playgrounds to breweries!

EASY STAY

April 2024 Stay

This is a perfect setup for large groups. We had members of 5 different families in town for a wedding. There are great kitchens in each house and an excellent Mexican food truck next door. Had a wonderful time many bathrooms and beds. Michelle the host is very responsive and even sent some items we left behind. Highly recommend this property. We rented both houses but you can rent them separately.

Thanksgiving week with four generations

This was a great property for my extended group of kids, grandkids and great grandkids (20). There were enough beds and bedrooms, enough space to spread out and a great space to be together. With two kitchens our feast was easy to prepare. In the evenings there were games around the large table and kid movies on the second floor. With the airport being close, flights in and out were easy. We had a great, great time and hope to return in the future.

Portland Wedding Weekend

This was a great away-from-home base for my family to gather for a weekend of wedding events around Portland. The house has a large kitchen/dining/lounge and private outdoor area perfect for sharing meals and downtime together. We also had ample bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone to get ready. And everyone loved exploring the neighborhood - especially all the food carts, restaurants, bars, and shops on N. Mississippi. The whole rental process went smoothly - very much appreciated with a wedding to worry enough about.

Amazing house(s) in the Mississippi District

This was perhaps the nicest place that I've ever stayed. The houses were beautiful and clean. Great funky lay out with lots of extras like hanging chairs, dart board, outdoor seating, great furnishings and storage. We rented both houses and it was super convenient for a group of 14 of us who were attending a conference at the Convention Center. Lovely little treats and coffee and wine waiting for us along with a personal note. I would strongly recommend these to others and would definitely rent here again!

We are a husband and wife team who love to travel, mostly on bicycles, and love designing houses. We put both of those passions together with the two businesses we own. Encircle Design and Build is our home remodeling side, where we mainly focus on kitchens, bathrooms, and whole house remodels. We started Shift Vacation Rentals with our duplex on Alberta Street. When we were getting married we looked for a house that could accommodate all of our family members and couldn't find anything. This experience sprouted our idea to create well-designed, modern, artistic lodging for people coming to Portland in our favorite neighborhoods. We adore Portland and think its, if not the, then one of the best cities in the USA. We are excited to share our home and neighborhood with you as it offers so much. In the house there is a list of recommendations of what to do and see in PDX!

The house is adorable, extremely clean, well looked after and beautifully appointed. The house is only used as a vacation rental, so you don't feel like you are staying in someone's personal space. We strive to provide a home that is perfect and hope you have an amazing stay.
