Great Location & Space for a Group – Just a Few Quirks to Know
We booked this cottage for a last-minute family beach trip with eight of us. The price was great for what we needed, and overall we had a good stay. That said, there are a few things future guests might want to know:
Pros:
* The listing says 3 beds and a pull-out couch, but there were actually 4 real beds, which was a great surprise!
* Lots of towels provided, including beach towels – though not quite enough for a full house, so pack extras just in case.
* Outdoor shower is a nice touch for sandy feet, but it's hidden by greenery and easy to miss at first.
* The kitchen was well-stocked with basics like dish soap, a sponge, and dishwasher pods. We didn’t cook much, but everything we needed seemed to be there.
* Location is excellent – you can walk to restaurants, shops, and of course, the beach.
Cons / Things to Be Aware Of:
* The door lock was finicky. The code was long, and it often took 3–4 tries to get it to work. We reported it.
* Parking is confusing. The listing says to park on the “north side,” but unless you have a compass on hand, that’s not super helpful. A graveled driveway would make this much easier.
* When it rains, the driveway area floods. One night the water was ankle-deep and even our 4WD vehicle got stuck in the mud. Again, gravel would solve a lot here.
* Don’t run the microwave and coffee maker at the same time – we learned the breaker can’t handle the combo!
* No salt and pepper in the kitchen – not a big deal, just pack your own if you plan to cook.
General Notes:
The cottage has a lot of charm, but it’s definitely showing its age. Some doorknobs are tricky, windows are dusty or cracked, and the appliances are a bit dated. Still, it gave us the space and location we needed for a fun weekend together.
Would we stay again? Possibly – especially if the lock and driveway get some love. If you're easygoing and looking for a convenient beach spot that fits a group at a fair price, this place works!
