Fabulous Stay

Fabulous property. Near everything .... beaches, restaurants, stores ... but the condo is isolated so you can escape to ur own little world. Two pools a few feet away. Private patio to relax and eat & drink amongst the beautiful greenery and an occasional chicken. Fully equipped home with everything you need - from a boogie board & beach umbrella to fully stocked kitchen. Worked well for the 2 of us but plenty of room for youngsters on the pullout couch and 2nd bathroom. Not sure what more I could ask for.

Another great vacay on Maui!

Once again, our family had a great stay. Once again, we really enjoyed our facilities at Maui Kamaole. Favorite activities included the Kaanapali zipline and ATV tour in Wailuku. The plane barely touched down...and we decided to start making plans for a return trip, hopefully soon!

We had an awesome time in K109 such a nice garden and close to pool and BBQ. Everything we needed was in this clean spacious unit. Minor criticism was check in is rather late at 4pm after we had travelled over night from Australia.

The condo is very spacious, beautiful, clean and has everything you need. 2 bathrooms were so convenient for 4 of us. Pool and jacuzzi at night was bonus! Walking distance to the beach yet little away from mail street so no tourist or traffic noise. The lanai has private space, loved morning coffee listening to beautiful birds. Definitely love to come back here!!

Just perfect for our week

The condo was even better than the pictures. This is our third condo at Maui Kamaole condos. This one was as the others quiet and comfortable with everything we needed. We love the location, the layout of the condos, and the check-in process has gotten easier than in years past. We have no complaints. Thank you for creating a great home away from home.

This unit was a pleasant surprise. It was very nicely appointed confirming that only the owner had used it before. It had a nice breeze flow and the air conditioning was appreciated in the bedroom. We will be back as it is better than any of the other 8 units we have rented in Kehei.

Great Location!!!

This is a really nice vacation property, it was very well stocked with all of the essentials and lots of kitchen supplies. The hide a bed in the living room is a typical hide a bed, we purchased a cot at Costco that worked great for us and was more comfortable. We loved the quiet setting of the lanai and enjoyed our meals outside almost every day. The pool area is very tropical and full of happy parents and kids. We spent most of our time at the local beaches and snorkelling down south. The local beaches are in great proximity and if you have people wanting to do different things every day it is a very easy walk to the beach and to amenities. We really enjoyed our stay, we did have one small problem while we were there and maintenance came right away and fixed it as well as the owners were great when we were booking the rental. Overall we had a great time in Kihei and the vacation rental was awesome!!

Awesome!

It was just what we were hoping for. This is not a luxury condo but it was nicely priced, clean and everything worked, with plenty of space indoors and outdoors to spend time together or get a little alone time. We went to some events at big resorts and although they have in principle fancier grounds/pools I really appreciated the less ostentatious but still lovely private space on the patio of this unit. I'm not sure that even if I wanted to pay 2-10x as much I would actually choose the resort experience over this experience. The grounds and landscaping in the complex were very nice and although there were lots of families around it was peaceful. They have property management who are clearly checking up on things and keeping them maintained. This unit is steps from the pool with lots of lovely shade from palm trees. If you are looking for a gigantic over the top resort pool you may be disappointed (although I recently learned you can buy day passes to resort pools through a third party service if you book them in advance, so that's something to consider). The bedroom and living room have thick carpet, which is not my personal preference because of allergies, but it ended up being okay for me. The kitchen was great, with nice appliances and countertops. Extremely clean and no evidence of pests at all. I don't feel that anything burdensome was asked of me at checkout in terms of cleanup or checkout. Highly recommend as a home base in Maui.

INFESTED - will never stay here again.

While at first we were enchanted by the beauty and longevity of the condominium complex we became very disappointed to discover mid-vacation that our condo in specific was INFESTED WITH ANTS. In order to feel more "at home," I decided to put my belongings in the closets and drawers, which is something I don't typically do. I did this around the third morning of our stay and we left the condo and began our day of activities. Exhausted from the long day, I got some pajamas from the drawer I put clothes in, changed, and went to bed for the night. When I awoke, I was in absolute shock to discover that I was covered from head to toe in BITES that itched immensely. My daughter who has shared the bed with me was also covered in bites. Now, of course, we didn't just automatically blame the condo for this. We had never experienced this before and it could have been anything. We thought maybe we had even brought something home with us from one of our excursions. But there was one thing that made it impossible to believe that had come from anywhere else other than the condo. Probably the next day or two later, I decided to grab something else from the drawer when I noticed something moving in there. I grabbed a shirt that was in there, turned on the light, and began shaking the shirt on the tile floor. Tiny light brown ants that run pretty quickly began to fall out and run across the floor. We then began taking everything out of the drawers, washing our clothes, and cleaning our belongings of these bugs that we began to realize were EVERYWHERE. They were just too tiny to see without really looking and we had never expected a condo like this to be infested with anything. We even realized that there were ant strips near the master bedroom back door and the kitchen. We were livid that we had to waste this vacation time cleaning and removing items of these ants instead of having a good time like we planned. Nights with the itch had got so bad that we had to spend an entire day finding a doctor that could prescribe us something for the itching. We weren't even motivated to go anywhere or do anything because of the itch or even just walking around with all of these red bites all over our bodies. The absolute WORST part of this entire thing was that when we called the owners of this condo, they did NOTHING. They claimed they never had a bug problem even though they have ant strips in the condo, didn't apologize, and began to ignore all of our calls and emails.

We have never felt it necessary to provide a response to a review but this is an exception. We have owned our two condos for over 12 years and have a total of 200 five star reviews and many happy repeat guests. No one before or after you has had the problem you described. We value our guests experience and work hard to provide a clean and well appointed condo. We had our management company thoroughly inspect the unit after your departure and they found no evidence of infestation. In fact, the guest that was in the unit after you, contacted us to tell us how happy they were with the accommodation and cleanliness.

Wonderful stay in K109

This condo is in very good condition. It has everything you need for your stay, including beach chairs, coolers, and beach towels. The beach is just a short walk or drive. It's close to shopping in either Kihea or Wailea. We will definitely rent this condo again. We had great communication with the owner both before and during our stay: she wants to make sure everything is going well.

Probably the nicest lowe density condo complex in Kihei

Walking distance to beaches , snorkeling and some restaurants but still private and quiet. The complex is located on a small hill with impressive tropical landscaping.

Such a Lovely Place to Stay!

3 of us stayed in this lovely apartment for 9 days and it was fabulous. We especially loved walking out onto the ground floor lanai you eat our breakfast and drink our morning coffee. The apartment has everything we needed and was very spacious, clean and comfortable. We’d absolutely stay again. Thanks for having us!

Susan and her home are lovely

Lovely condo. Gorgeous pool although not perfect for kids... Ton of rules and security that wouldn't let them play with any water toys on the pool not even a soft water nerf ball in their own area of the pool. The sofa bed was in dire need of extra padding. Otherwise perfectly. The patio had the most welcoming peaceful energy. Drinking coffee with gorgeous trees and tropical sounding birds was amazing. Only 4 beach towels so laundry daily for 4 of us was absolutely needed. There is a washing machine and dryer and supplies for washing along with nice appliances especially in the kitchen including dishwasher. Board games and books and boogie boards. We bought an extra to contribute to the collection. :) I would be honored to stay there again. 🙏 God bless this home and all whole visit. It is a great place if you need quiet clean peaceful environment.

Aloha potential guests. We are Susan, Mark and Steven. We purchased this second condo in June of 2007 and hope to make your time here as enjoyable as ours. We come to Maui twice a year and take great pride in our condos. We are constantly making improvements and upgrades to make your stay (and ours) as care free as possible. We hope you will visit soon. Maui No Ka Oi

As frequent travelers to the Hawaiian Islands, we have visited all of them over the last 30 years numerous times. And while the other islands have their strong points, the charms of Maui can be found no where else in the island chain. Our first visit was to the Northern part of Maui but each time we returned we found better weather and properties lie in the south. In all of the times we rented at many properties we found the Maui Kamaole to be the best property in Kihei, bar none. So it should come as no surprise when considering our purchase that we chose the Maui Kamaole. The complex is low density, unlike the hotels in the North where you can barely find a chaise poolside. The grounds are beautiful, unlike any complex in the area. Complex management is the best and the property is maintained to a very high standard. We love the property so much we bought two units and return twice a year to work and play in paradise. We hope you visit soon, you will also fall in love with the magic of Maui.

The Road to Hana: Journey along the wet side of the island with all the waterfalls, it is wonderful. Stop at Keane peninsula and bring a picnic lunch for Waianapanapa State Park. Then go past Hana at 7 pools (O’heo Gulch)—spectacular.

Lahaina: Lahaina is charming, has good food, and quaint shops. Go early. It gets hot and crowded later in the day. Leave the condo at 8:30 or so and head up the coast, it takes about 40 minutes.

Ka’anapali: There are many fabulous resorts; most have been updated in the past few years. Sometimes it is fun to go to Whaler’s Village and/or go to the hotels and just walk around. Park at the Marriot, and just cruise the strip, which must include the Hyatt Regency.

Haleakala Crater: Watch the sunrise from the highest mountain on Maui. If you are not an early bird, you can see the crater from the front door of the condo, if it is clear go for it. Haleakala is 10,000 feet high, so it is cold. Wear warm clothes. Total trip is about 4 hours.

Pa’ia and Up Country: Pa’ia hosts some nice art galleries, get out of the car and take a stroll. Upcountry you’ll find Panaole’s (Cowboys) and very different countryside including cactus, horses and some very charming small Hawaiian towns.

Wailea/Makena: We are 2 blocks from Wailea. The Shops of Wailea has some really upscale shops, and free parking. The beaches in this area are really great. Big Beach, Makena and Keawakapu are worth checking out.

Whale Watch: We take Pacific Whale Foundation Whale Watch trip out of Lahaina or Ma'alea Harbor. Whale season runs from mid December through April so if you are lucky enough to go on this outing, do it. They also do a dolphin adventure to Lanai’I which we do in the summer.
