Relaxing log cabin by a stream

Our family had a great time. Secluded log cabin hidden in a group of trees with easy access to BV. My family enjoyed sitting outside on the deck and listening to the stream.

The property is INCREDIBLE. Stunning views with a lovely creek, ponds, and fun antique equipment. We saw a group of 10 pronghorn just chilling on the property, a huge jackrabbit, and an adorable woodpecker nest in the tree directly behind the property. The house itself is spacious! The kitchen is updated and well stocked with cookware. Some of the mattresses are a bit on the uncomfortable side for me but might be totally fine for others.We traveled with four adults and three kids ranging in age from 4 to 7, and everyone had a great time and plenty of room to spread out. I would definitely stay here again! Thank you for sharing your lovely property with us!!

Great Cabin Get away

Had a great time tucked away from the crowds of downtown Buena Vista in this rustic authentic log cabin , loved the property and the views , everything was great , my family had a blast .

Great place to stay!

The property was great! The owners were so nice and checked on us to make sure everything was going okay. The driveway was snowed in, so they worked tirelessly to make sure we could get in when we arrived.

Unique one of a kind location

Awesome location and fantastic for a family looking for a unique spot. Beautify area. Well decorated historical log cabin style home. Plenty of space for everyone. Would definitely rent again.

Perfect Location and Gorgeous Views

The property is on a beautiful piece of land with gorgeous views. The location was perfect for our trip with easy access to many hiking and biking activities. The property is very peaceful nestled right by the river in the trees. The owners are very easy to work with, communicate well and are very accomodating.

Beautiful, peaceful ranch

This property was beautiful inside and out! We enjoyed the views and sound of the creek running through. The inside is like a western museum! Very clean and comfortable. Nice beds, plenty of bathroom space and fully stocked kitchen. It’s a wonderful place to spend time.

Perfect for our family xmas gathering

My siblings and I and our spouses had a wonderful, cozy, and scenic Christmas week with my 90 year old father. Great kitchen for cooking large meals. We loved relaxing in front of the beautiful stone fireplace. Convenient to many attractions (Leadville, hot springs, Salida). But mostly just a great place to be together.

Amazing!

This is the second time we have stayed here and once again, it did not disappoint. The house itself is so comfortable and there is plenty of room for our family of nine to spread out. The property is simply amazing. We went on walks, rode bikes, and no matter we did, our kids were always eager to get back to the creek to play. The location is convenient to town and lots of hiking. Lynne and Tracy were wonderful hosts and very responsive to anything we needed. We had an amazing vacation and hope to return again in the future!

Great base for Buena Vista and the Collegiates

This was our annual outing to climb 14ers and our first time in the BV area. This was a fantastic property with the perfect location - easy access to both BV and the trailheads, while completely private and secluded. Communication with the owners was seamless, easy and very helpful. We will definitely consider coming back.

Peaceful cabin retreat

I cannot say enough great things about our experience. The owner was extremely responsive and helpful. The property was secluded and gorgeous. Pictures cannot do it justice! It is a cozy feel and perfect CO vibe. I will definitely come back in the future.

Hidden Gem

The pictures don’t do this property justice! The log home is rustic but feels like home. It is nestled in trees and has a running creek right off the back porch. The mountain views are in all directions and are surreal. You feel remote, but yet it is a quick trip into the town. Would love to come back in the winter!

Beautiful and Comfortable!

This house and property are amazing! The house is spacious and comfortable. With six bedrooms and four bathrooms, there was plenty of room for nine adults. The land around the house is even more beautiful than in the pictures. We were enthralled by the mountain views and loved sitting by the creek. The property owners also allowed us to have our wedding at the property, and it was perfect. Thank you so much for the stay! We definitely want to come back.

Company Trip

Every year our small design/build company spends a week long vacation in CO and it can be a challenge to find an affordable house that can accommodate 8 adult males who all want their own bed. This house was a winner. It’s location, size, amenities, character, and privacy were all top notch. We spent many nights laughing on the deck, or around the fire pit, knowing that the neighbors weren’t being disturbed because the house sits on 130 (+/-) acres. There’s plenty of land to explore and see wildlife, not to mention there’s a small creek right out the east door. The sound of a running creek constantly in the background is hard to beat. I highly recommend this house for large groups who want to get away and shut off reality for a few days.

Loved Spending Christmas at 3 Elk Creek Cabin

We had a wonderful Christmas here with our adult children, their significant others, and my sister (there was 9 of us). We agree with the other reviewers that the house is even nicer than the photos show. We loved the rustic architecture and antiques. The kitchen and dining room were large for all of us to cook and eat together. The house was roomy and comfortable. All of the bedrooms were decorated nicely and very comfortable. There were plenty of bathrooms. There is a lot of land to just take walks on the property along with hiking and Buena Vista nearby. We also visited St. Elmo Ghost town, Cottonwood Hot Springs, Twin Lakes, and the Melenzana shop/Leadville. We even had snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas which was a surprise. We would definitely love to stay here again. Thank you very much!!
