Pasadena Cottage

Weekend getaway

We really enjoyed our stay. I’m sorry we didn’t have more time to spend there. The whole place was very comfortable and beautifully restored. We live in a 1920’s house and love older homes. Marla did such a nice job with keeping so many of the original details while at the same time updating the important parts. The roses were in full bloom and lovely, as was the sweet smelling jasmine. Thank you for a quiet and comfortable place to lay our heads after a busy day.

Just a wonderful experience, from start to finish. Marla is one of the best hosts we have met in all our travels, friendly, responsive and has thought of everything she could to make our stay more comfortable. The cottage was immaculate and indeed charming, decorated in a vintage style befitting a home in the "Bungalow Heaven" neighborhood of Pasadena, where I read that the craftsman homes there have earned a spot on the National Register of Historic Places! The neighborhood was quiet and safe. We especially loved the patio accessed through French doors, surrounded by Marla's beautiful rose gardens. We were in the area visiting our new grandson, and hope to return to this rental many times in the future!

We had the most wonderful stay at Marla‘s home in Pasadena. It is beautifully appointed and very comfortable. It was the perfect place from which to enjoy Thanksgiving with family and friends. And Marla is an awesome host.

A wonderful place to stay in Pasadena.

Marla was a wonderful host. She provides some breakfast items and a fairly well stocked pantry. She was attentive to our needs and even had fans shipped from Amazon since there was a major heatwave and the ac was having an issue. I highly recommend this property.

Beyond Excellent

Clean, quiet, roomy, nicely furnished, abundantly supplied and amenitized! Owner was very kind and communicative. The kitchen has everything. We were 3 adults and a 1 year-old so backyard (with fruit trees!) was a plus as was the playground within walking distance. Really felt like home here!

Our Easter stay at English cottage

This property is just beautiful and Marla was very communicative. She even decorated the house for Easter! She had breakfast for us in the refrigerator because we arrived so late the night before. The neighborhood is beautiful and very walkable. Everything was perfect for our Easter stay and was enjoyed by all!

Visiting since pandemic

Super quick stay to visit with friends and family since the pandemic. The house location was central to everyone and all the great nearby restaurants made it a perfect stay. Everyone enjoyed it, and found the house so cute and clean. Super friendly neighbors too!

Great stay for a family

We were visiting LA and nearby area and had a great stay at this place. The house is charming and spacious enough for a family of five to spread out. Also this house is fully stocked (even all the emergency stuff like flashlight). Marla was a caring host and she was prompt with responses at all times. Highly recommend!

Lovely cottage!! In peaceful Pasadena neighborhood.

This was the perfect location for our Pasadena visit ... the house and property are so charming!! Everything was clean and the kitchen was very well stocked. All the special touches did not go unnoticed, from fresh flowers to breakfast goodies. Thank you Marla!!

Home away from home

The Charming Pasadena English Cottage was just that. Big enough for our family, warmly decorated, and comfortable. Marla, our host, was easy to communicate with and made every aspect of the stay simple. We were back and forth to events in Eagle Rock and Pasadena and the parking and easy access to the freeway were a plus. A wonderful experience in every way.

Great location!

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The house was perfect for us. We were visiting the area looking at schools and houses and getting to know Pasadena. The house was older, but nicely furnished and located in a nice, quiet neighborhood. Marla was very helpful and responsive. We had everything we needed.

Charming, welcoming, perfect home

The house is perfect for family ... so well-appointed with everything you need to cook and stay. Thanks for the goodies to get us through the first couple of days. Keurig and drip, electric kettle, all the pots and pans. Great, safe neighborhood and lots of walking available. Close to groceries and restaurants.

I am a very easy going, outgoing and relaxed person…I consider myself to be a very positive person and love surrounding myself with beautiful things…I love my garden and take pride in my numerous rose bushes and fruit trees…Spring is my favorite time of year when everything in the garden is new and in bloom.

I grew up in San Diego…but left at 20 to live and work in London.
I ended up traveling all over Europe and was in London for about 4 years.
I then moved to Vancouver, Canada to attend film school…and moved to LA…I have been here for almost 20 years and I love it. I know lots of hidden treasures and fun places to go off the beaten path here in LA and Pasadena and would love to share my city knowledge with people visiting from out of town. I know what it’s like to take a trip and be away from the creature comforts of home…and I would really like my home to provide you all the comforts and luxury of being in a true home so it's makes your trip all that much more fun and relaxing.

I love the outdoors and love hiking, sailing, stand up paddle most of all, I am avid bicyclist. I did a 100 mile ride to raise money for the Leukemia/Lymphoma Foundation a few years ago and I got hooked!
There's a great ride from my house down to The Rose then it's 3.2 miles around the of fun! There's also many wonderful hiking trails here in the San Gabriel Mountains to explore..
I work in film editing and have worked for numerous popular tv series like Ray Donovan, Preacher, Desperate Housewives, Bates Motel, etc… I am also a entrepreneur and am working on an app - hope to have it in the App Store soon…Very Exciting!!

I love meeting new people from all over the world and look forward to a wonderful experience on airbnb.

My home is a perfect example of what makes Pasadena such a unique and charming town. The neighborhood is quiet and serene with wonderful mountain views and yet close to everything that Pasadena and the surrounding areas has to offer.

Old Town Pasadena and The Rose Bowl are just a few minutes away... Just minutes to the 210 Fwy entrance. Los Angeles is 10 miles south on the 110 Freeway, the beaches are 25 miles south and west. 20 minutes from the Burbank Airport.
Close to CalTech (2 miles!) and the famous Huntington Gardens, 15 minutes from Santa Anita racetrack and Los Angeles Arboretum. We are only 5 miles from the Huntington Hospital and the HRC Clinic. 12 minutes to JPL (Jet Propulsion Laboratory) and just 7 miles to Art Center College of Design. The Pasadena City Hall and Convention Center is also only 4 miles away....

There is also a Los Angeles Metro station less than half a mile away (the Allen stop on the Gold Line)within walking distance.
