Thank you for your review:-). We're so glad you found the apartment clean and tidy and like the photos. We put a lot of love and effort into giving our guests a comfortable, inviting, and special place for their stay. We're sorry we didn't earn five stars from you:-(. When we spoke as you were checking out, you mentioned that you were disappointed by the handles on the pans being loose, and some of the knives not being sharp enough. We wish you had mentioned that to us during your stay. It certainly was too late to fix them for you when you were checking out. It only took a few minutes to tighten the pan handles and sharpen the knives. We aren't sure why those small issues make our entire kitchen a problem for those who wish to cook in it. The appliances are modern and in very good condition. There is ample space for cooking a nice meal for a family. And it is stocked with just about every dish, utensil, and appliance you can think of. A professional may not call it a "chief's kitchen", but neither do we in our listing. We appreciate your bringing those items to our attention for our future guests:-)

We made every effort to communicate our pet rules, which prohibit incessant barking, and Ashley agreed to them in writing 3 times. But she repeatedly broke our rules by leaving her dogs discontent and anxious. We even tried to find a way to help her poor dogs be comfortable when she left them. But though her dogs were happy while she was around, they did not want to be left alone! We texted her a recording of the dogs' desperate barking so that she could understand the magnitude of the problem, but according to her "review" she clearly did not care how unhappy her dogs were and had very little regard for how her actions affected anyone else. Her behavior was very far from "pet friendly". The fact is that, though "normal" barking (like in response to a doorbell, or a sudden loud noise) is not a problem and is expected, we can't allow incessant barking (constant whining, howling, crying due to stress, separation anxiety, or boredom) not only because we live right under the apartment, but because incessant barking is AGAINST THE LAW IN MILTON. A city ordinance is in place to prevent this sort of ABUSE of animals and neighbors. And even though we live on 2.5 acres, and the dogs were inside the house locked in a bedroom, the neighbors could hear the barking. Even though her stay caused us a great deal of stress and trauma -- it is not fun to have the peace of your home disrupted nor is it pleasant to have to call out a guest on a blatant infraction of your rules -- and her dog damaged our hardwood floor desperately scratching to get out, we chose to be kind and not charge her for the damage and refrained from giving her a bad review. She did, after all, at least leave our place in tidy condition, and she chose to vacate early -- thank goodness! We have instead, sadly, decided to turn off "allows pets" to avoid having another puppy parent like Ashley. We worked very hard to make sure that everything was clean and polished, every towel was lovingly folded, every pillow was fluffed and in place, etc., to give Ashley and her family a comfortable, cozy, lovely place to stay, and did everything we could to make sure she felt welcome and appreciated, but according to her "review" of us, all she wanted while she went off to her church conference was a cheap kennel for her dogs. We want every stay in our home to be a wonderful experience both for our guests and for us, and we put our heart and soul into it. But it takes both parties to make it so.
