Great Getaway

This is a great spot for a trip to Norris. Minutes away from a marina and a perfect choice for our 4th of July weekend.

Great View

Great view, great location. The house was perfect for our group. Communication was excellent and the info sheet Joseph sent out was very helpful, especially the directions on how to get there. Thank you for an amazing week.

Wonderful house on Norris lake. The stairs to the dock are no joke but that was clear in the description. We had a great week!

We had a great time at this lake house! The stairs going down to the lake were difficult but that was clearly stated in the listing. We will definitely keep this place in mind for our next lake vacation! Owners were super responsive and very helpful anytime we reached out.

Lake Trip 2025

Awesome view from back deck, awesome boat dock with jet ski storage and room for (2) boats! Very close to marina and plenty of parking at the house for several vehicles. Also plenty of trailer parking close by, bring a trailer lock and chock blocks! Stairs to dock were challenging but doable even for me, just take breaks to catch your breath and enjoy the view!

A nice stay

A nice stay, however the climb( steps) down to the water are hard and can be dangerous if not very careful.

Our Family enjoyed very much our time in Carpe Diem.

Beautiful house with plenty of space for a large family. The view is amazing and the owner was very responsive to all our questions.

Great Stay

House was great and clean. Views were amazing. Water is amazing. Steps weren’t for the weak of heart but that is clearly disclosed in the listing. Owner was responsive to messages and questions I had before we arrived. Once we arrived, he checked in with us to make sure everything was good. Would definitely stay again!

The property is very nice, bright, and clean. It was very well stocked and had everything we needed. The steps are definitely a fitness test - as noted.

Great Lake spot

12 adults & 1 toddler enjoyed this spacious and comfy lake house. A great place to unwind and relax. The stairs, as advertised, are definitely a challenge for any older adults or anyone unfit. A great exercise though. Would definitely recommend Carpe Diem and would stay again!

Really nice house

The house has a great layout. Very functional. Kitchen was a little small to meal prep for a large group but we made it work. Rooms were spacious and clean. The view from the back was amazing. The stairs from dock to house are challenging. No carrying of coolers for sure. Hot tub wouldn’t heat up but wasn’t a big deal for the group. Overall it was great for our group and would book again.

September Fun!

We had a group of 8 adults using the 4 bedrooms. All the beds were reported as very comfortable. The home is very well stocked for larger groups with the main dining table able to seat up to 10 people comfortably. The decks are great - particularly enjoyed the swing and the hot tub on the lower level. The steps are certainly a challenge, however with some planning to limit the trips up and down, you can enjoy boating and swimming off the nice dock as we did. Very nice home with an accommodating and responsive host. We look forward to a future return visit. BTW - the week after labor day is a great time to enjoy Norris Lake with low lake traffic.

Nice stay over Thanksgiving

Carpe Diem was a nice place to a big group (9 of us) to stay over the Thanksgiving week - it offered great views of the water, and a relaxing environment for the short vacation. The owners were very responsive to my questions and even picked up some new pie pans and a roasting pan when I let on that we were planning to make Thanksgiving dinner while there. Our dogs also loved the upper deck, as it is fully-enclosed. The hot tub was great to lounge in after a day of relaxing too. We did not get on the water, but did walk down to the dock several times and greatly enjoyed the nature. It would have been the perfect time of year for canoeing or kayaking, as there were very few other boats on the water. Great for a family trip!

House was very accommodating four group of 15.

Great location, easy to find. Kitchen was very equipped; however more refrigerator space would have been great! LOTS of steps to the water! I believe it was counted to be a minimum of 166 steps just to the hot tub from the water! All of our legs took a beating the first couple of days! We just made sure to bring everything down the first trip so that we only had to make the trip up once a day. Plenty of sleeping space, beds were a bit hard but everyone managed to sleep just fine! Overall great place to stay, just be prepared for the trip back up from the water!

Great house in the woods

We enjoyed our weekend getaway at the Drumm's lovely lake house! Know they aren't kidding in the directions to just trust that the house is on that road - keep going. You will go past the marina another 1/2 mile and it is on the left (the directions end at the marina... but the house is past that.) The home is comfortable and roomy. Plenty of room for our group of 8 to spread out with teenagers downstairs part of the time. We enjoyed their games, puzzles and fall football on their big screen TVs. Great hosts. When we arrived the AC and fridge were both not working properly but Joe was very responsive and had the AC fixed quickly. I understand a fridge is on order so should not be problem going forward.

Amazing views

Amazing views! Absolutely beautiful. The property was well described. The lake was very low when we went which made the walk to the dock an extra challenge. We ended up getting a slip at the marina to make things easier. The kitchen is definitely small like noted in other reviews but it works.

I am a police officer and my wife runs a small business in Dayton Ohio. We raised 3 sons and now have 4 granddaughters. we have been vacationing at Norris for 20 years. I love this house and rented it at least once a year. in 2018 the home owner talked me int to buying it because he was building in the tropics. Best purchase ever!!!
