View of the Bay and businesses was fantastic from both levels! I do have just one problem..the diswasher has a white film completely covering the inside. The first thing I did was to add a dirty cup into the washer and ran it a full cycle. The cup still was dirty after the full sycle with your soap that was under the sink. Taking the cup out of the washer I used the sponge and completely cleaned the cup, clean with just wiping with the sponge. The inside of the washer still was covered with the white film that I could just rub off. So, constantely, I did not use it again. Actually all the dishes, glasses and cups in the cabinet had to be washed before using them and actually all the cutlery was washed before using too. We had both of mjy daughters and our granddaughter and partner for my birthday dinner. We had a great time! I had the lower bedroom and bath and loved being able to get away by myself whenever I pleased. The family talked of a trip perhaps and renting both places. If a planned trip later on sometime we will keep both your places in mind! And also tell our friends and other family members. It was so wonderful just to enjoy the view and relax. Our time there was pure enjoyment. We had a visitor every evening by a young forked horn deer in the area just below the decks.

The location of this rental and the large picture windows provide a great view of the bay. We saw herons and deer on the grounds below our deck. The beds are comfortable and there are two futons, one in living room and one in downstairs bedroom. There’s a nice little market Nextdoor that makes pizza, sandwiches, and tikka masala!The property description doesn’t mention that there is no TV. We’ve never encountered this so we didn’t notice that TV was not listed in the amenities. So be advised to bring a book or whatever you like to do when you’re not gazing o the view.

Amazing view to wake up to! The location is conveniently located with an unmatched view. We loved spending time in the den. Felt like we were some place far away. We had a relaxing time. Owner was accommodating and was very responsive. You may want to bring your own soap and ground coffee. Check with the owner prior of what you may need to bring.

This is the second time we have stayed at the Heron’s Nest. If it’s possible we enjoyed it more this time. The views are breathtaking. I think the little sitting area nook overlooking the bay where you can sit watch, sip some coffee, and read… it’s worth the price of admission. If you come you might stop at a grocery store inland because the options are pricey. Restaurants are good locally though. Thanks hosts we will see you soon when we need some r&r.

A true respite

I left it a surprise for both my young-adult kids where we were heading after our last five years staying in Monte Rio for our getaway, and their excitement as we approached and entered the home was so gratifying. It is very tastefully designed and clearly a well-loved home, not just a revenue stream. We saw a fox, a deer with her spotted fawns, and so many birds. It was just wonderful to stay there and to be able to walk out the back of the property along the marina and onto the dunes. Very well-equipped kitchen as well and apparent environmental awareness based in part, evidently, on research by one of the hosts.Favorite aspect: no screens.

The birdwatcher is an apt name, the views are spectacular! We loved waking up to all the wild life and having morning coffee on one of the spacious decks.The home was clean and comfortable. The host were wonderful and available when we had questions. 1000% would nook again, and fully recommend the Birdwatcher for anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Heron’s Nest

They weren’t kidding when they said great birding from this property. Especially if you like Great Blue Herons. Constant activity on the old wharf and surrounding bay view that fills all the windows on the back of the house. Handy location to base out of for all your Bodega Bay activities, and plenty of information provided to start from.

Easter Family Vacation

This house was such a tranquil, relaxing getaway. The views of the bay from the deck, the living room, and master bedroom were stunning. Kitchen had everything we needed. We greatly enjoyed the wood burning fireplace.

Scenic quiet stay

Really enjoyed our stay, we had a beautiful early spring vacation with an amazing view. There are a number of places to pick up food in the area and near the best crab sandwiches on the Chase. Amazing spot!

Every thing you need in a vacation home!

We had an amazing time! So much fun that we decided to stay an extra day. Panna was very communicative and gave us the green light to extend our stay. The house exceeded all our expectations. It has beautiful views and we had amazing sunsets, it is conveniently located near the beach, restaurants and a market. Our dogs absolutely loved the access to the water. They felt right at home in the house, and as the post mentions, there are a variety of birds in the area. The kitchen is well-equipped with all the necessary amenities, and there’s ample outdoor seating for enjoying a morning coffee. The beds are incredibly comfortable, and we’ll definitely be back. We highly recommend this nest for anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Great little Get A Way

We were pleased with our stay. The kitchen had ants…constantly and the coffee pot did not work bc the lid that allowed it to fill was gone…:We were there at a very rainy time! The view however was stunning! I did not go down stairs but our daughter did and this house is pet friendly but she said everything was stained from previous guests. Beds were comfortable. Thanks for our week! We drove home and got our own coffee pot just to make coffee that was inconvienent. But we neededcoffee! Anne and Mike

Bodega Bay Get Away

Outstanding local with exceptional views. We enjoyed our 5 day stay. There is a local grocery store , one minute walk away. Highly recommend the place.

Beautiful harbour view

The house is located with the most wonderful view over the water, facing west for sunsets. The property is spacious, and the kitchen well equipped.

Steep stairs

This is a beautiful home but I would not recommend it for parties with small children. The stairs to the Master suite are right at the entrance and are steep and narrow (I had to go down sideways to keep from hitting my Achilles tendon on the step above). Also, elderly persons may find it difficult to navigate the stairs but there is a smaller bedroom with attached bath on the main floor. Also, the view is fantastic but it would be nice to have some type of pull-down blinds on the living room windows and patio doors as the sun comes in there most of the afternoon. The living room is not usable when the sun is beating in there and it tends to be pretty blinding in the kitchen right at dinner time. We were there the first of October and it may be better at a different time of year.
