Our recent stay at the house in Brevard, NC, offered a mix of delightful aspects and some significant disappointments.On the positive side, the location was fantastic, providing easy access to several wonderful hiking trails, which we thoroughly enjoyed. The HOA amenities were a definite highlight; the golf course and pool were excellent, and the pickleball court was quite decent, adding to our recreational options.However, several issues impacted our overall experience. The first was the drained lake directly in front of the house. This not only ruined what should have been a pleasant view but also rendered the canoe unusable, which was a major letdown. Apparently this is a temporary problem, but we would have liked to have been notified before booking about this issue.Cleanliness was also a serious concern upon arrival. We were greeted by approximately 50 flies in the basement. While we were fortunate not to need the third bedroom immediately, having to "run through" the basement to avoid the flies was far from ideal. We eventually traced the fly problem to a trashcan and were able to move it outside, which helped reduce the issue. The owner was responsive and sent a maid, who did clean out the maggot-infested trashcan, but the flies already in the house were not addressed. Additionally, we found the towels seemed old, and there was a lack of essential supplies like extra trash bags and sufficient detergent for both the dishwasher and laundry.In summary, while the house
