The rooms were clean and the beds was very comfortable. The space was great for me and my college Friends. We were here for our Homecoming 45 years later and everyone on them was please. We will stay again if available next year.

Fantastic Lake Getaway!

Our family enjoyed our stay at the Boujee Shack very much! It feels much larger on the inside than it looks from the outside! The owners have done a perfect job of furnishing the house! It is very tastefully decorated, comfortable and clean! Wonderful outdoor areas for the family to enjoy every minute ate the lake. We parked our boat at the dock and spent a lot of time fishing, skiing, and swimming off the dock. We had a fire in the Firepit next to the lake, it was like a fairytale. I hope we can come back again next summer!

Lake Life Gem

The Boujee Shack has it all! Our family stayed over Easter weekend and it was the perfect accomodation. Beautiful lake views, fire pit, grills, spacious yard, and stunning sunrises and sunsets from the backyard and dock. We had fun fishing, playing in the yard, grilling out, and relaxing in this beautifully decorated home. Our kids loved relaxing in the hammocks and fun sleep space downstairs. The mattresses were very comfortable and everything was very well organized and clean. We look forward to coming back again. Thank you for helping us make lasting family memories in an amazing space.

Fantastic weekend in a wonderful place

This place did not disappoint. The view was gorgeous and beautiful on the inside. Quiet cove and easy access to big water. The house was stocked with all we needed and very clean. This was the perfect place for a very relaxing weekend. The host was always available and answered all our questions. Looking forward to staying again soon. Came in town for a family event and this place was the perfect gathering spot for those from out of town. It was really clean and very comfortable. We’d definitely stay here again.

Beautiful home on a beautiful lake

We stayed here for thanksgiving and had an amazing time. The house was beautiful and clean. Plenty of room for kids to run and play in the yard, board games to entertain them inside. Beds were comfortable. View of the lake was beautiful. Located in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. Neighbors were also very friendly when we went for a walk. Not too far from downtown Columbia, about 30 mins away. There’s also a Publix about 5 mins away.

Great stay on Lake Murray

The property was a lovely retreat while visiting for USC parent weekend. (It’s about a 35 minute ride from campus especially with all the highway construction.). Property has beautifully renovated and offered lots of comfy space in between events in Columbia. My only wish would be to have the entire yard fenced. All around great stay!

Family Lakeside Reconnect Boujee Style

To say our weeks was AWESOME would be an understatement. Based in Massachusetts we made the trip to Murray Lake to spend long overdue time with family who live in Columbia. The #1 focus was to spend time together and enjoy the lake. The Boujee Shack was the PERFECT place for this. The "Shack" was everything Eric and Michelle said it would be and then some. The location was really cool as we were just into the cove to give you quiet and less traffic while only 2 minutes in the boat where you were pushing to full throttle and enjoying the lake. Michelle and Eric were awesome house and for the few questions we had their responses were immediate and then right back to enjoying lake life. I will also say that the upgrade work they have done MADE you want to treat the home just as you would your own. Thanks to Michelle and Eric for sharing your home with us. We WILL be back!! Great place to stay!!

Loved the house and yard. Great owners who were easy to contact. Spacious and very updated. Loved the heated floors! Kid friendly! We had a 2 year old, 1 year old, and 5 month old and it worked out well.

Excellent choice on the lake!

The Boujee Shack was just as adorable as pictured in the photos. We also booked the tavern for extra family guests. having the extra sleeping space and bathroom as well as the “party place” was perfect. We enjoyed much time fishing off the dock and using the kayaks and SUPs. It was a beautiful setting. The house had everything we needed for a perfect week!

A beautiful place!

This was one of my favorite rentals. The home is very beautiful and spacious for a group. It’s very convenient with the downstairs and bathroom. We had a blast.

So peaceful!

We spent a wonderful week on the lake for Thanksgiving and the SC vs Clemson game. This house had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. The views are so beautiful to wake up to and the house is decorated with high end touches. Highly recommend!

Fabulous Family Getaway !

The Boujee Shack was the perfect place to relax with our grown children and littles. What an adorable lake house! The white shiplap, furniture, heated floors, unreal kitchen, stunning views from decks/dock, fire pit, floating pad, paddle boards, kayak, lounge chairs, hammock chairs, and overall vibe made for the relaxing weekend we all needed! Relaxing Lake Murray vacation

This house was amazing! So many nice features. Had everything we needed for an awesome vacation on the lake. We swam, kayaked (brought our own, though they have an inflatable and 2 kids kayaks), rented a boat one day, Loved sitting on the back deck any time of the day. The dock was really nice.too. Beds are comfortable, kitchen is well.stocked, there are beach towels, lawn chairs. The owners have thought of everything and we're very responsive. They texted to make sure we got in the first night and had everything we needed. Would love to stay again someday. One of the best VRBO houses we have stayed in.

We are the Champ's. We've lived in Charleston for 20 years, and have always had a deep love of lake life. We purchased this home in 2017 as an estate sale. It had not been touched since the early 1970's. We passionately spent two years gutting and renovating it ourselves with the goal to start a travel nomad lifestyle living between several homes in our favorite places. We appreciate the little details and well thought out gestures of a home. Eric is the cook, construction and tech wizard of the home. I am the designer, clean up crew and passionate "bring the extra" one.
Between us, we have tried to think of everything a family of all ages would want and need while relaxing at the lake.
What does Boujee mean: A slang word for "luxurious" in lifestyle yet humble in character. Defined as a need for luxury.
Why we named it "The Boujee Shack": One of our daughters calls Eric and I "Boujee" often because we appreciate nice things in general. As we were renovating this home we would show her photos of different items we were purchasing or adding and she would often say "Oh that is so boujee" The word stuck and seemed to fit our humble shack of little luxurious touches.

We have taken a family vacation on Lake Murray for years with the hopes to own a home of our own one day. The owner before us was the original owner who built the house and lived there his entire life. It didn't even hit the market before we heard it was going to an estate sale. We jumped on the opportunity to have a small shack of our own so close to town with great water views.
