Home away from home

We really felt at home while we were there. The rooms were very comfortable and our dogs loved the backyard. The location is convenient to most of the city and all of our favorite places to eat. We will definitely stay here on our future visits.

We lived in this home the first 2 years of marriage and even though our lives dictated we move away. We kept the house as a rental since 1982. All four of our grown children have rented it as young adults. We've had long term renters, most good and some bad. We chose not to renew the last lease agreement and reclaimed our home for other people and travelers to enjoy.

A historic and eclectic area with friendly neighbors in what historians say is Oklahoma City's first middle class neighborhood.
A vintage home in a preserved historic neighborhood built for JC Penneys good friend, Somerville Gilchrist. His first store manager in Oklahoma City. The home is largely preserved as built. Nine foot ceilings and original untouched maple woodwork. Original tile fireplace, hardwood floors and an entry room (for Rose Gilchrists baby grand piano) instead of an open front porch. As soon as you enter you will immediately feel at home.
