This is a fine place to get away from it all. Savage Lake has skiing, tubing, swimming, sun soaking and fishing (for bass and perch) fun for all the family. The Cabin is 3 miles from Troy (about 1000 residents) it has Groceries, Gas, Red Box, Ace Hardware, Bowling Alley, There is a sit-down restaurant -The Silver Spur and several sandwich shops in Troy. The Library in Troy has Internet access (lclibraries) I sit outside to check my e-mails, there is a Movie Theater. and State Hwy 56 access. The Cabin is 18 miles from Libby, MT (With About 2700 residents), Restaurants, Movie Theater, Red Box, The Heritage Museum (with old time mining and logging equipment from the past here in Montana) and nearby Cabinet View Golf Course which boasts a slow pace and reasonable green fees. There are tennis and workout facilities in Troy/Libby. It is 150 miles from Spokane, WA. Spokane has lots of entertainment opportunities, it is great for a day run, more fun for me at the slow-paced Cabin. It's About 1 hour from Sandpoint, ID which is known for shopping, restaurants and antiquing, a great downtown walking and shopping experience. Be sure to try the local hamburger joint in Sandpoint or Spokane named Zips they have great fry sauce, love their hamburgers also. On the other side of Bull Lake towards Thompson Falls (About 15 miles from Cabin) is Ross Cedars with a nice little hike in the 1000-year-old Cedars, which are impressive for Montana. There is great rafting and fishing for Rainbow Trout on the Yaak and Kootenai Rivers. This is a great experience to have in Montana. The Cabin is a short distance to the Yaak River Country on the other side of Troy, its the location of the popular Mountain Men program on T.V. It's very remote, and please be sure to visit the Dirty Shame Bar up the Yaak a Montana tradition.
