This Amish-built log home sits on a private 1.13-acre lot just 7 miles from Libby, Montana, offering the quiet, natural Montana experience guests come here to enjoy — with the comfort and convenience of a well-equipped home.

This is a great find! Location, amenities and cleanliness are top notch. Many wildlife sightings right in the yard. Great place to retreat from the crowds at Glacier and still access many MT natural wonders.

Nice stay-would return

Summer Harley trip

This was one of the best VRBOs I have ever stayed at and I have stayed at many. It was so clean and so well stocked. The location was beautiful. The host thought of everything to make our stay comfortable. We loved seeing all the wild life around the house every day. It made for a very memorable stay.

Beautiful house, awesome location on the river. We had wild turkeys, big horn sheep and deer all around us. The kitchen was the best and stocked with anything you need to cook which I love to do!!

Amazing Retreat

We had an amazing stay in Libby! Deb and Eric were great hosts who were very communicative, had a beautiful property and thought of every last amenity you might need in their home. We used their cabin as a home base while visiting family and friends in Libby, and it was like we had transplanted our own home there. We had a perfect place to rest our weary bodies after each day’s exploration. We had plenty of room, beds were comfy, living room and outdoor spaces so comfortable, kitchen perfect and well-stocked. Thanks for sharing your place and letting us make some fantastic memories there too!

Montana Magic

This log home on the banks of the Kootenai River was just what we were seeking for our NW Montana vacation. Eric and Deborah certainly put a lot of thought and effort into anticipating our needs for an enjoyable stay. The home is beautiful, comfortable, clean and well supplied. There are endless opportunities for recreation in the surrounding area, so another vacation there is planned! We really enjoyed morning and evening walks and all the wonderful wildlife. Deer, turkey, bighorn sheep, rabbits, bald eagles, ducks, bald eagles and golden eagles abound. It’s a great place to take in the Montana magic!

5 Star Montana Vaca

We loved our time at this sweet VRBO. This host has truly thought of everything and all you must do is come and relax. We had a ball here watching the bighorn, deer, rabbits and turkey. The property is located in the most perfect river setting. The host was very responsive and helpful. We rent a lot of vrbos a year and this one was top notch and blew us away with the organization and thought to detail. My crew went fly fishing, did the falls and suspension bridge, went to the splash pad in town and checked out the dam. It was a great escape from our very high paced life back in Texas. Can't wait to come back.

Serenity-

The property was very well appointed. The owner went above expectations with prompt and very helpful communication. We especially enjoyed the suggestions of what to do in the area. The use it, leave it, deplete it replace it directive was so appreciated. After traveling a long distance it was an easy transition to making this home “ our home” without having to immediately go to the grocery store. The local wild life was awesome to see. Lovely time visiting my hometown

The touches were amazing. I can safely say I’ve never stayed at a vacation property that offers this level of amenities. Everything is clearly labeled and easy to find. Serving plates, plates, saucers, pans, trays, simply everything you can think of. Seasonings and spices. Need a telescope? There is one in the closet. Need a hiking backpack? Closet! Wanna take a bath? It’s like being in a store. An entire display shelf, sorry two entire shelves, of product to use. Want to send a post card? They had one in the wall pre-stamped. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your lovely home. I can tell you love it by the level of care you put into the property. Thank you for sharing it with us!

The house was even more beautiful in person. It was closer to town than we anticipated, about a 10 minute drive. We did a lot of fishing off the property and caught quite a few fish. There was more than you would need or want in the kitchen with coffee pods being my personal favorite. I do have to say we were surprised to find out that the very kind owner lives in a separate house on the property. The neighbors were closer than I expected but also very kind. We would definitely stay here again, Montana is heavenly and so was this home!

Beautiful log home

If you want to stay in a beautiful log home right on the Kootenai River and close to Libby this home is for you. The home is immaculate and complete with everything you will need. The drive back and forth from Libby has tons of deer, big horn sheep and turkeys. Highly recommended!

Slice of Montana Pie Paradise

Amazing family vacation destination! All the right elements for a wonderful stay. The perfect hosts with superb communication who offered helpful information about the surrounding area and options. Very attentive hosts who truly want you to have the most enjoyable stay as possible. The location is perfect for feeling removed but being close enough to amenities that it is not inconvenient to run into town for supplies. The home embodies all the rustic elements that one would desire in Montana with modern convenience of internet if desired. Beautiful river right out your back door that beckons and train across the way that was a fun surprise. Paved road on way in is perfect for biking as well as access at end of dead end road to hiking and biking trails. Wildlife abound and enjoyed visits from deer, turkeys and big horn sheep. You will not be disappointed! Didn't want to leave and can't wait to return!

Beatiful cabin and location.

Beautiful well stocked cabin right on the river. I caught fish out the back door. Everything in the house description is accurate.

Dave, It is so good to hear of all your fishing success on your quick trip to Libby. We knew Linehan’s would give you a great guided fishing experience and also we know first hand that fishing in front of the house is good too. Hi, I’m Eric Alexander. I grew up in Libby, Montana, and this riverfront log home is a special place to me. The Kootenai River, the wildlife, the quiet setting, and the natural beauty of this area are the reasons I enjoy sharing this home with guests.

This is my part-time home, and I want guests to feel comfortable, welcome, and well cared for during their stay. The home is set up with space for your belongings, a well-equipped kitchen, comfortable sleeping areas, high-speed internet, and peaceful places to relax both inside and outside.

I’m happy to answer questions before or during your stay to help make sure the property is the right fit for your Montana getaway. Whether you are coming to relax, fish, hike, explore the Bighorn Trail, visit Kootenai Falls, or simply enjoy the river, I look forward to hosting you for your Montana getaway.

It is a place of absolute peace, and serenity. Living here means total immersion into nature; it is incredibly common to look out and see deer, bighorn sheep, and wild turkeys grazing right in the yard. The property is surrounded by fresh air, a wonderful neighborhood, and lovely, welcoming neighbors.

I grew up right here in Libby, but the true heart of this property will always be the river. I still remember looking out at the water years ago and thinking, "It’s the most beautiful river I’ve ever seen... I can’t believe the color of the water." >
This home is my personal escape—a place where I can completely unwind from a busy life and just leave the rest of the world behind for a while. I am certain this magical setting will affect your soul just the same.

So many of us dream of staying in a log home—a true "treehouse for grown-ups"—but life too often gets in the way of those dreams. I am completely in love with this home, and because I can't be here full-time yet, I want to share the magic of this gorgeous corner of Montana with you.

This property is a place to slow down and naturally reconnect with family and friends. I swear my own blood pressure drops the second I pull into the driveway. Sitting on the porch with a morning coffee or an evening glass of wine gives you a front-row seat to a moving picture of Montana wildlife: deer, bighorn sheep, and wild turkeys routinely graze right through the yard.

A few things that make this stay unforgettable:

Local Wildlife: It is incredibly common to open the door and find a mama deer and her fawns napping in the tall grass. The local chipmunks and ground squirrels are comical to watch and aren't afraid to "chatter" at you if they feel you're in their space!

World-Class Fishing: The blue-ribbon Kootenai River is just steps from the house. You can easily catch action right from the bank, though hitting the water in a boat offers the best chance at a prize-sized catch. If you don't bring your own boat, there are fantastic local guides available—a previous guest recently raved about an incredible 17-fish day with Linehan's Guides.

Easy Logistics: You can easily grab your fishing license online or just stop by the local sports store when you arrive in town.
