Upon arriving at the Island Colony building, my first impressions were great! Although the building is located 3 blocks from the beach, very nice atmosphere and friendly staff working at the building. We tried to see about checking in a bit early, as we arrived in Honolulu around noon, however we were told we have to wait until the 4pm check in given out by the condo owner. After arriving in the room, the view from the balcony is breathtaking. The bed was very cozy, a little on the softer side, but overall basic amenities inside the room (ie two burner stove, cooking and eating utensils, full size fridge and freezer, tv, bed, heater and AC, bath/shower and toilet). The bathroom is on the smaller side, as only one person can be in there at a time. Multiple people using the mirror or sink is not happening. We did have to buy toilet paper and paper towels during our stay, as only one of each was provided upon our arrival, and the hotel staff only supply keys and nothing else for the owned condos. The elevators run slow at times, and would sometimes take up to ten minutes to arrive at your floor. The pool area, laundry facility, and hotel store are located on the 6th floor and all seemed very nice, although we didn’t use any of those facilities as we were mostly exploring the island. There is no rooftop access as some of the pictures show, so your rooms balcony is the only view you will have from this condo. The hotel/condos are also located right in the middle of Waikiki, close to all of the dining and shopping options your heart desires. Overall a nice stay, but I think we could’ve gotten a cheaper deal at some of the other hotels in the area and received more amenities (ie beach/activities bookings on site, complimentary food/snacks, room service, etc.). Parking is 35 dollars per day, since our trip was 7 days, it cost an additional $210.
