Family vacation

Absolutely beautiful views. Condo was updated and clean. Having covered parking was a great bonus. Entire island is easily accessible from this location.

Beautiful beach front

We had a great stay. The listing was very accurate, the unit was very clean, well equipped and the views were amazing. The beach was perfect, and just a quick trip down the stairs and 20 feet to sand. We would definitely stay here again.

Beautiful Views

Condo was perfect for my family of 4. Beautiful view of the ocean is seen as soon as you open the front door. Coffee in the morning on the balcony is a must. A quick 5-7 minute drive to beautiful beaches and everything you need while staying in Maui. Would rent here again!

the room was nicer than the actual building

The rooms views were great, this is a nice place if you want to be away from the crowd. My only question is why are locks of the bedrooms located on the the outside of the room, rather than in the inside.

Another wonderful stay at Kealia Resort, Sugar Beach Maui

Sheri and her team that manage and maintain the Kealia Resort do a wonderful job to keep the suites and property in top shape and to accommodate all as best they can. We have been staying at Kealia since 2005 and have booked for 2016 and 2017 already ! highly recommended Added bonus is the location...impossible to beat...ON the beach with miles of sand and open beach and privacy..

Week of relaxation

We loved staying in unit 404! The unit had amazing views and was very comfortable! Only suggestion I would make is to invest in some new beach chairs. Since the complex does not allow the lounge chairs to be used on the beach and the chairs provided we small and not conducive to lounging on the sand. Minor annoyance but worth mentioning.

Breathtaking views

We loved our stay. Pros: The view from the windows is breathtaking; you can't beat it. The apartment has direct access to the beach, which was not crowded at all. The apartment is stocked with everything you may need (beach chairs, towels, kitchen supplies). The only thing you may need to bring is a cooler. It has a washer and dryer. The location is pretty convenient; it was close to all of our destinations. AC Cleanliness Cons: There was a 'fishy' smell outside when it was windy. In my opinion, it's not the prettiest part of the island. It's a great apartment if you rent a car and plan to explore the island. I would stay again.

The resort is family friendly with easy access to sugar beach. The staff are friendly and will go out of their way to help. I have always recommended Kealia Resort to friends who ask where to stay when visiting Maui. It is like a home away from home. It doesn't have all the fancy stuff that some resort have, but then again, neither does my home. Sherry and Norma Jean will do their best to make your stay enjoyable.

The king bed is very comfortable. Updated walk-in shower, leather furniture in the living room, nice patio table and chairs, granite counter tops. The only 2 items that can use updating is the dining room table and fridge. The property is well maintained, very friendly atomosphere. Beautiful beach. Enjoyed many walks and sunsets. Liked the location as well - very convenient to all the major sites.

Fantastic!

Overall the place was great! The only exception is that the photos need updated. The living room furniture has changed with a simple sofa and chair. Nothing to be concerned about, but noteworthy. The kitchen was superb with updated appliances and newer washer and dryer installed. The bedrooms were comfortable and all face the ocean. The property management was friendly and helpful when the garage door opener failed. They replaced it immediately. The grounds are well maintained as the crew was onsite daily doing general cleanings and maintenance. You cannot go wrong renting this property as all windows face the ocean which allow breezes to flow through. The place is steps to the beach and the pool. We rented in December for 11 nights and could not have been happier with our stay.

Eight trip to Maui.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We have been to Maui eight times now. We always stayed on Sugar Beach, we really enjoy it there. We have stayed with Kealia resort 3 times and have allways enjoyed it. Very nice units,great veiws,not much else you can ask for.The only draw back form other resorts in that localation is the lack of personal customer service from the on site Manager or Office person. The City had a water main break, so there was no water four about 24hours and the Managment did not have any help for its guest at all. We were very dissapointed that they have no guest emergency preparedness plan for the guest who come stay with them. We will take that into consideration with the other resorts on Sugar beach.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First off, the view from this rental is stunning. You are right on your very own, very private beach. You won't need your noise machine to sleep here because the ocean waves are right outside your window. The location is great because you are minutes from Big Beach, which has been named the most beautiful beach on the island. Plus it's easy to get to all the tourist attractions in the northwest part of the island. For the rental itself, it was very nicely equipped. All the cooking utensils you need and some surprise benefits like chairs to take to the beach, sunscreen available, and even beach towels for you to use. The washer and dryer were great and allows you to pack less than you normally would. They even had beach totes available to pack up everything you would need for a day at the beach. Plus, two air condition units in the rental allows you to keep it as cool as you could want. Any negatives with this rental were very minor. They have a small cooler available for use, which we used every day, but the top is ripped, so it doesn't stay sealed, but it kept our things cool. The garage door opener was held together with tape, so it had a tendency to come apart on us, but we found more tape in the unit and reinforced it and it did fine. But the fact that it has a garage door opener lets you know that you have underground garage parking, which is extremely nice and keeps your car cool. I would definitely stay here and recommend it to anyone who is visiting Maui.

No kids allowed at the pool!!!

The Good -The view is lovely. The condo was stocked with dishes, pots and pans, spices, oils, medicines, lots of towels, blankets, extra sheets, and loads of beach toys and boogie boards. The property grounds is well maintained. The location of the condo on the island is great. It’s halfway between all the West Maui beaches and the South Maui beaches. The Really Bad -The pool—oh the pool. My 11 year old daughter wanted to swim in the pool everyday when we returned from our adventures. However…the pool had “adult time” (ages 18+) from 12-1 and 5-9 everyday. That’s the time she wanted to swim—after 5pm. It seems from 12-1 is when two old ladies who live at the condo do their “exercise” (they float around the pool a few times on pool noodles). Then, from 5-9, the pool sits empty except for the amorous couple who’d run off the two old ladies. My daughter would sit on the balcony eyeing the pool and lamenting how it wasn’t being used. Later in our stay, a family showed up, disregarded the rules and let their kids swim every night. This stung even more because we are rule followers. If you have kids who love pool swimming, maybe skip this place. Even when it was kid time in the pool, we would get a lot of side eye from the older ladies. -The pool. Did you see the pool comment? I had to mention it again because is was annoying every. single. day. If I would have know about the crazy pool rules, I wouldn’t have booked here. I spoke to several other families staying there and they said the same thing. There is also a sign entering the pool are that states no screaming, no horseplay, no big movements, no fun of any kind. Ok, I made up the the last two, but they aren’t far off. There is a sign posted that says no diving or jumping in the pool—it is for swimming only. Seriously? Apparently, one of the condo owners said this new pool rule for no kids just happened a couple of months ago (after we booked). She was completely against it (as were the managers). The condo board passed it quietly without input from other owners. How terrible. And how sneaky to not say anything to people who booked their trips prior to passing the no kids rule???
