Great place to stay in San Carlos

Steven's place is great! Very clean and spacious. It has great views of San Carlos especially on the margarita deck. The location is also great with a 5-10 minute short walk to a couple of different beaches. Steven was very attentive during the process, answering all of my questions in a timely manner. Check-in was quick and easy.We will definitley return!

San Carlos Gem

Everything was as described, and communication with the owner, and property managers was very smooth. There was a lot to enjoy at the house, from the large kitchen and dining area, patio with grill, and rooftop terrace. It was nice to have a secure garage for our rental car as well. This place will be at the top of my list on our next trip to San Carlos.

Mixed stay

We initially liked the property, but all the stairs were very difficult with our small dogs. It wasn’t clear to me in the pictures that the main living area was upstairs. One of our dogs fell and died. Not blaming just warning others who might travel with pets.

Lovely home!

We are in San Carlos every July for our yearly family reunion, now that my kids are older our family has grown and we needed to stay somewhere that could fit us all. This house was a perfect size to fit our family of 8. Location was perfectly close to beaches, restaurants, stores and Dad stations. All was in walking distance. I especially fell in love with the large kitchen and dining room, the large roof patio, and my morning çoffee view of the ocean. The three bathrooms made it a conflict free morning with three daughter's 😁 getting ready, and I loved the garage space for our suv. The house overall was perfect for what we needed. We did have an issue the first night but Steve the owner was on top of it and made everything right for us immediately the next day. I can definitely see us returning to this lovely home in the future!

We booked for next year!

This was our first visit to San Carlos and we truly enjoyed the area and the house was a perfect base camp to explore. The location was great, within walking distance to many restaurants and take out food. We spent most days outdoors on the Margarita Deck, but also enjoyed the lower deck to get out of the sun. The house was well stocked with kitchen items and we were able to prepare many meals and grilled often. Our dog loved the enclosed yard and freedom to roam inside and out. Steve, the owner, was super helpful and responsive. Nice to have a garage for our huge truck, too. Only one suggestion would be the addition of some nicer chairs or some comfortable furniture for the upper deck. The area is so big and the scenery is beautiful, you want to spend a lot of time there. It was adequate, just room for improvement. We have booked already for our next visit.

Great house in an excellent location

really enjoyed our time in san carlos and especially loved the house and the location. short walk to a nice little beach with very few people and lots of tide pools for the kids to explore. walk the other direction to another beach a little bigger with more people but great for paddle boarding and kayaking with sea caves and a great restaurant and bar. walking distance to several other restaurants and shops. the house was spacious aplenty for 8 people. hot showers and an extra bathroom upstairs was nice to have. the kitchen is large with plenty of pots and pans and dishes. we cooked most of our meals at the house. roof top terrace is awesome with fantastic views of the ocean and mountains, and overlooking the town. could see all of the fireworks on new years eve from up there! the large garages offer plenty of room to store all of our stuff during our stay. the only thing we would recommend to change at this unit would be updating the furnishings, especially the beds. other than that, we had an excellent time and really enjoyed the house and wouldn't hesitate to rent here again!

Restful getaway

House is spacious, plenty of beds and bedding. Wifi and AC worked perfect. Home was close to restaurants and beaches. Cars were safe parked in garage. Quite neighborhood, but ok to party on patio and have fun!

It was nice

Overall the house had what we needed and was comfortable for us. I think the property was a little further away from the ocean than I had thought it would be (the address given by vrbo is inaccurate), but the views from the deck are beautiful. The furniture was comfortable if a little worn. My biggest complaint is that I wanted to open up some windows for fresh air, but many of the screens had large holes that let mosquitoes in. We were covered in bites the whole trip.

We had a nice peaceful two week holiday at Casa Hermosa. Convenient walking disance for most of our needs. Steven was attentive making sure we were comfortable. Very large and would accomodate a family gathering easily.

One of the best vacation experiences ever.

I can't say enough about this rental! It surpassed all our expectations far and wide. It was much larger than we had anticipated; the pictures on the website did not do this property justice at all. We were not in need of anything. This rental had EVERYTHING we needed for my family to prepare, serve, and eat dinners at home on a dining table. The kitchen had pots, pans, silverware, plates, a coffee maker, all that we needed was there. We were all able to relax in the living room and watch tv. We all slept very comfortably and even had a washer and dryer. We had WiFi, which was quite a relief since I realized too late that my phone would not work in Mexico. There was a beach within walking distance, but it was rocky and not quite suited for a relaxing swim. However, driving into town a little ways we were able to find an excellent beach called Algodones where we swam (in January!!). The neighborhood was quiet and we saw many other residences with Americans living there as we could see the plates on their cars. We NEVER felt unsafe, even when we walked to a few of the local stores. San Carlos was a wonderful experience and we can't wait to go back to this same rental.

Family Gettaway!!!!

This home was perfect for our family. My kids loved it and my in-laws came to stay with us so it made having a BBQ that much more fun. The house was super clean when we arrived. The kitchen is completely stocked with everything you need from cutlery to plates and cooking items. The Property Manager Steve was super helpful so many thx to Steve for making our stay awesome! When we come back to San Carlos we will be staying here again for sure. Thank you again! Allen

Beautiful home in San Carlos is a 4.5 star property

The owner of the property, Steve, was an absolute pleasure to communicate with. He responded very quickly and professionally to questions. During our stay city water was off for two days and the tinaco (water storage tank) ran dry. A call to the property management company trucked in water within hours. Steve advised us prior to our stay that poor city water infrastructure does cause problems. He had measures in place to mitigate any outages. The veranda was a great place to spend the mornings and evenings. The home was well appointed and the garage added a safe place to park the car (not that it was needed). San Carlos was found to be a safe and friendly town. There were a few items that should have been repaired prior to our stay, but they were minor. The garage and front porch lights were burnt out, the bathroom toilet tank in the main bedroom allowed water to run constantly, the downstairs shower constantly dripped, the daybed in the main bedroom could use a through shampooing and needs to be fixed as the bottom cushion slide when it was sat on. It would have been nice to have had a few trash bags to replace the one provided. These are minor issues and the only reason a 5 star rating wasn't given. I'd give a 4.5 rating if the rating system allowed. Positives were the home, owner, and property management company. I would stay at Steve's property next time I'm in San Carlos. We paid a $250 refundable damage deposit that was returned in it's entirety within 1 week. A 3 liter bottle of water was provided so we didn't have to drink the city water if we didn't want to. We used the local water to brush teeth and other things and didn't have any stomach issues. The entire process/stay was a joy.

Our only complaint is the bed. We are used to a king and that felt smaller than a Queen. There is plenty of room for a larger newer bed. The quick response regarding getting the Direct TV to work was appreciated. The house was very clean!

Great view of the ocean and spacious house!

The house was difficult to locate. The map that was given on the HomeAway app and at the seaside reservations upon check in didn’t give us the exact location where the house is. We kept on going in circles to find it and we followed the map. Until we were fed up and called Seaside Reservations. The lady at the front desk was nice enough to come and show us where the house is. The house overall is beautiful but I noticed some of the beds sheets were not washed and I found rat poop on pillows and on the dishes. Good thing that the house has a washer/dryer and dishwasher. I don’t believe the house fits 8 people. Both futon beds were broken and stained. Possibly only 6 people fit due to the amount of beds in bedrooms. The garage light was out and in the master bed room shower head was broken and sprayed everywhere. The tv only showed black and white. The dish satellite cable didn’t work. The WiFi connection is slow and only connected in the kitchen and living room. The great part about the stay was the A/C. Nice and cold when we arrived. The house provided soap for dishes and for the washer machine. So you know, it’s close to the beach but not walking distance. The house only gives a beautiful view to the ocean. We have to drive 10mins to los algodones to swim in the beach.

A wonderful place to stay...

A wonderful place to stay --- everything nice and clean (tile work in the three bathrooms is gorgeous). Even has a computer. Great location in San Carlos --- spectacular views off the margarita deck; also two large balconies with beautiful views. Owner and his management company located in San Carlos quite accomodating and easy to work with. Enjoyed and used the write-up that the owner has in the house which lists good restaurants, attractions, beaches, etc. All in all, a very tasteful, comfortable home that we thoroughtly enjoyed --- at a very reasonable weekly rate. Forgot to mention how nice it was to have a roomy garage (with a garage-door opener) so we could get our vehicle off the street each night. Very positive experience with nothing negative to say!
