Very convenient location, could walk to Kailua restaurants and shops. King bed was very comfortable, nice furnishings. Kitchen was well supplied with everything we needed for meals on the lanai. Parking was free.

We loved our stay. The location was perfect & within walking distance to many things. The views were amazing. We loved being right on the water & watching the beautiful sunsets right from our balcony.

Great location, hearing the waves crash was soothing. Plenty of dishes, towels, and beach chairs. The negatives-the AC went out every single night I stayed. The portable AC didn’t do much to cool it down. The bedroom has a weird odor that increases when it heats up due to AC malfunction. The property management was excellent.

Great location

Located right on the lava beach, views are great. We saw whales and turtles right at the condo. Surf crashing is a delightful sound, but a bit loud for conversation on theLanai. We were worried about street noise being so close to town, but the complex was very quiet.We loved the close proximity to restaurants and shops. The unit was well furnished and staff very responsive .Our only disappointment was the small size of the lanai and the furniture there ( not as pictured ), as the table is too big and chairs not comfortable.

Beautiful View

My compliments to the Owner and Property Manager. this condo was perfect for us. The views, room, and pool were stunning. We really liked the location as it was just a short walk or drive to some great snorkeling spots and shops. We will definitely be back. Jim & Elaine

Terrific stay at Kona Kai condo

Very clean and was exactly as pictured. Lots of thoughtful touches, beach towels and chairs, coffee and some condiments for our stay. We would absolutely recommend to anyone but for one thing, the comfort of the king bed. It had a much too soft topper on it and made it difficult to sleep at night for my husband and myself. If the mattress was upgraded we would definitely give it a 5 star.

Great convenient location, nice condo

We've been staying at Hale Kona Kai for many years and we love it. The rooms are starting to look in need of updating, but they're still a great deal.

Honeymoon

We stayed here for our honeymoon and enjoyed the property very much. It was a close walk to town and the pier and the view was stunning in the morning and at night. We will miss this place very much and remember this honeymoon for a life time. Thank you for making this memorable trip!

Perfect location

This place was clean, comfortable and a perfect location. We could walk downtown for meals and then sit on the lanai and watch the sunset and hear the waves. Having the air conditioning was a plus too. This is our first rental on the Big Island we had air. And it was nice when we went out and about we returned to a cool place.

Beautiful location!!

Condo is very nice with all amenities! Parking is a plus. Kind of a busy little town but within walking distance to restaurants and beach/park. Would definitely recommend the complex but if staying again would go up to the top floor as you can hear the people above you stomping around.

Great place!

We are lazy vacationers and this was a great property for that! Coffee on the lanai every morning (for 3-4 hours) then wander around Kona, no car needed!

Kona Getaway

The unit was beautifully remodelled and fully equipped. We spent a month and enjoyed every day! Great location, close to shopping and restaurants. Parking space included, which is a real bonus in Kona!

Great Place to Stay IF....

If You're looking for a family friendly area. The area: It's very "touristy" with lots of families roaming around and lots of kids. There's a lot of homeless people in all the public areas but they mind their own for the most part. A good selection of restaurants and other offerings all a short walk away. We had a Turo car so we preferred to explored the Islands other areas. Now for the condo. The Good: The staff was very helpful and there was a nice welcome card and complimentary snack that were nice. It was clean and functional. It had all the necessities and in our opinion okay for a short stay. It is an "ocean front"property and there is a usable beach within a 5 minute walk. The Bad: No Central Air conditioning. We could not enjoy the ocean sounds because the Portable Air Conditioners (1 In Living Room, 1 in Bedroom) are loud and really struggle to cool the spaces. As of our stay dates the bed was very uncomfortable. It's super firm and kind of a cheap springy bed. "We" woke up tired every day from not getting any good sleep. So much so we left a day early to check in to the Hilton in Waikoloa literally so we could have one good nights rest. Over all it was good, if the owners would invest in the Air conditioning and a good bed or mattress and better bedding it would be fantastic!
