The property was in good condition for the most part. There were some problems with "singing pipes" in the master bathroom along with a faucet assembly that pulled out of the wall when turning on the water.
Steve and Tricia appear to be very nice people who responded promptly to our questions.
There was one major problem. Two days after we arrived, Feb. 1, notices were posted that the building was going to be repainted beginning Feb. 7. The entire exterior of the building facing the parking lot was then covered in plastic and painter's tape including the walkways and stairwells. Beginning Feb. 7, we were awakened every day to the sound of pressure washers, generators, paint sprayers and workmen doing their job until 5:00 p.m. that evening. This went on for the remainder of our stay. Relaxing, NO! One day, we were actually taped in to the condo with plastic and tape covering the front door.
We believe we should have been notified by the owners that this painting was going to occur. Obviously, they had advanced knowledge of this, probably several months. As the owner's sister sat on the executive board of this condo assn., they had knowledge that this painting was going to occur several months in advance. We should have been advised nd given the opportunity to cancel our reservation for a full refund. We were not provided that opportunity.
VRBO, for its part, has been most unhelpful. We contacted them several time during our abbreviated stay (we left 4 days early), opened a case file and were advised that we deserved some compensation for our inconvenience. They suggested that we contact the owners. That is VRBO's job. We ill NEVER trust a VRBO listing again. Buyer Beware!
