Pros - Best property I have ever stayed in! Amazing view, Huge 2000 sq. ft. of space condo, very comfortable beds, high quality couch, big screen TVs in every room, Everything you could ever need in the kitchen. We were amazed at this place and did not want to leave! This is not a place someone just set up as a rental, this is clearly someone's living property with quality furniture and appliances that they are just renting out at the moment. You won't find a better rental unit in this area, you should feel lucky if this is available for you to book.
Cons - Beware if you book last minute. We booked the same day we wanted to arrive and ran into trouble with the HOA. When you book, Vacasa will send you a HOA contract that you have to sign and send back to them, which they then send to the HOA of the building. If the HOA doesn't have this when you arrive, they will tow your car if you try and park. Make sure you give at least 2-3 days for this to happen.
Second con - Check in is 4pm and you have to pick up the key to get into the building itself from the Vacasa office, which is 10 mins away. Once you have that key, you can then drive to this condo and get into the building, where you will find the HOA office in the lobby. However, the HOA office closes at 4:30. So, if you dont pick up the vacasa key exactly at 4pm and then drive quickly to the condo, then the HOA will be gone for the day and you cannot get your parking pass for the night and will be towed. The HOA is also not there on the weekends so if you arrive on the weekend it sounds like you will not have a parking pass until Monday. They have a box in the lobby that says "weekend parking passes" but that box was always empty. It seems like this whole thing is setup to make you fail. Vacasa should make check-in at 3:30pm at least so you have time to pick up the key and then drive to the condo and deal with the HOA. In my case, I arrived at the condo at 4:20 and the HOA didn't have my contract from Vacasa so wouldn't give me a pass and then they left promptly at 4:30 so I had to find another place to park for the night and I figured it out the next day. Just make sure you book a few days early and make sure you pick up the key and arrive at the condo before 4:30 and you should be fine. To be honest, you will have an assigned parking spot in the garage anyways that belongs to the owner so even if you dont have a parking pass and parked in the spot you are supposed to, I cant imagine it would be a problem, as nobody else should be trying to park there but you. Still though, it's a risk if the HOA want to be strict about it.
All in all, don't hesitate to book this spot. We stayed in Daytona for 3 months and had 3 different rental units and this was by FAR the best! We actually tried to cancel our 3rd spot and stay here longer but alas, it had already been booked months out when we tried. We will definitely try to get this unit again if we come back to the area.
