The Location is excellent. The bed was extremely soft and the unit was not as clean as I thougt professionally cleaned led me to believe. There was no toaster or a BBQ which it showed online.

Hard to beat 1 block from the beach! Property was clean, well stocked and management was great!

Easy to the beach and the manager was easy to reach and reached back to us when he said he would!

Find something else

Was so bad we left two days early. From check in with no instructions and broken keypad that wouldn’t let us lock the door when we left...to paper thin ceiling with upstairs guests making noise unbearable, just don’t go. The “property manager” who calls himself “San Diego Beach King“, says all the right things and follows through on NOTHING. Asked ahead of time if he had beach chairs. He says “yes but bring a couple anyway”...??? Ask him for for beach chairs and a broom again after 2 days. Nothing. We went out and bought them. Sits on first floor of an alley way with windows that don’t open, and AC unit covered by curtains and with no visible controls. Can’t leave curtains open OR sit outside at the rusted out table set. Coffee maker broken ( he replaced it) no bottle/wine opener. He uses the word “upscale” in his listing. There’s NOTHING upscale about this place! Avoid this listing and any listing from “SanDiego Beach King”! Spent a lot of money for 5 nights and got a MISERABLE 3. VRBO will be hearing more from me.

Compact beach rental

Very compact. Could use a little refresh, especially for the price. People upstairs were noisy. Good location.

Location ISN'T Everything

The location of this property is excellent as it gives easy access to the ocean and to the bay. However, location isn't everything. The previous comments on this property are what encouraged us to book it. They were not accurate, to say the least. The listing states that the studio is brand new...that did not seem to be the case. The studio was filthy. The baseboards and floor in particular were extremely dirty. The absolute most disgusting part was the multiple cockroaches and other bugs we encountered during our stay. The mattress was way too soft, and upon removing the sheets during the departure process, we encountered numerous disgusting stains. The upstairs occupants were extremely noisy and not considerate at all of the downstairs neighbors. We heard pretty much every noise made by the people upstairs. Every time they returned from the beach, they washed all of the sand off of their feet and it made a big puddle in front of our door. The other strange part is the upstairs unit has garage parking access. There is a door to the garage from the studio, which we were able to access. That doesn't seem very safe for the people parking their car in there. Unless the owner/property manager does a better job of cleaning/checking for critters, we would not recommend this property to others. If you are expecting a quiet, peaceful, clean experience, then this place is not for you.

great beach access BUT...

this property was hard to rate since it has so much potential. i gave it an average grade because i'm hoping the owner fixes a few things. pros: - location, location, location. a block from the beach and near the action. - maurice was SO responsive. he is a pro. - a/c unit was great cons: - BUGS. cockroaches, spiders and random beetles (felt like i was camping) - photos did not match the place (no bbq on patio, dining room table is lawn furniture (not what is shown in picture) - bed was a marshmello. reminded me of uncle fester's bed in the addam's family. i ended up sleeping on the couch (which was not bad) i hate leaving bad reviews but i know this place can turn it around. if you don't mind the cons, then i fully recommend staying here. thank you maurice for your great service.

Amazing Stay!!!

It was very clean place. Maurice and Ana were Amazing, and Check -in was easy. The best part was how close it was to the beach. The listing said it was close, but wow was it close. Because of this, my kids were able to enjoy the beach just as much as we did the locations we visited (Zoo, Balboa Park, etc...). As far as communication with property management, I called once to get guidance on door lock, and they picked up immediately. I cant wait to visit again. Hopefully I can book both floors so my sister's family can also enjoy San Diego, a stay in a location where the beach is as close as walking to my back yard, in a good neighborhood, and safe and clean. Thank you Maurice and Anna, you helped make our San Diego trip Amazing.
