FAMILY VACA

Great home for family. We had 3 couples, 1 single and 2 kids, six and four. Bedrooms enough for our family, and each had their own bathroom. It was wonderful. The best part was the back yard! Nice pool and great set up for outdoor dining. We went swimming day and evening. Kitchen & living room were fine for our evening gatherings. Need to put a picture of the spiral staircase to 3rd floor on VRBO as we were surprised when we got the house info a week before arrival. This may present a problem for anyone who's not mobile enough to climb the stairs. Jan was attentive, and answered any questions we had promptly.. Can't speak highly enough of her. Overall...great place to stay!

Amazing

Very clean and very nice neighborhood. Excellent communication with owner. Everything was as it said it was. Front porch very inviting and peaceful. Beautiful backyard and pool… getting back and forth to beach was great with golf cart. Easy walk as well.

Big Home, Great Neighborhood

It’s challenging traveling with 14 people and giving everyone their own space, but this house was deceivingly large. It’s a three story home, the second story has three bedrooms and three baths. They’re not all attached, but it gave the illusion of everyone having their own bathroom. On the third floor there are two king bed rooms & a shared bath. The backyard was the star of the show, it was an additional living space that our group utilized most of the time. The kitchen is fully stocked, the host was very responsive & the neighborhood was quaint even though it was near EVERYTHING! The A/C worked great & we never ran out of hot water. Easy walk to the beach & overall a great stay! It wouldn’t feel like a true review if I don’t give any constructive criticism, so my only suggestion is to bring your own sheets if you’re picky about the bed. The mattresses were fine, but the sheets are basic. I would have slept better in my own sheets. Thank you Jan for a great stay!

Great vacation!

Great location & perfect house to accommodate 10 of us. The pool was perfect for all of us to enjoy & relax! Jan was also great to work with, she was available at any point if we needed something! Would highly recommend!

Wonderful place.

Our host Jan was very pleasant and communicative and her place was perfect for our family vacation. Close to the beach and a very unique house and floor plan. Great pool too, with a nice, wrap around porch. We all had a blast and will remember this one as special. Thank you Jan!

Family Getaway

Our stay was phenomenal, from the rental contract to communication with Jan, the accuracy of the property description. We had a ball and will definitely be renting again. Jan is amazing answered all of our questions and made this one the best vacations we have done. The property is perfect for all age ranges, spacious, and stocked with more amenities than you can imagine.

Family vacation

Awesome experience. Family oriented. House was beautiful, pool was great. Golf course was a plus. Family really enjoyed it. Jan the owner was very nice and was always prompt with any questions we had. Would definitely love to come back someday for another family vacation.

Great group trip.

Took my diverse aged office staff to Destin as a thank you for their hard work. The house was wonderful. It even better than the pics. The pool and back yard was great especially on days when the little kids in our group were worn out from time at the beach. The rooms were clean and spacious. The kitchen was able to accommodate all of our needs. Great property and would def stay here again!!!

Vacation

The house was great we had a wonderful time. The owner was very quick to respond to any issues. The only complaint I have is it’s listed with a heated pool but that was an extra cost. It should be listed heated pool optional cost. Otherwise great location plenty of room. The grandkids were in the pool all day and it was very close to the beach. I would definitely rent again.

Destin Holiday

Jan and Jim were fantastic! Our communication was great. When an unexpected problem with the water heater came up they were on it right away and even made one of their other properties available for showers and a hot tub while the water heater was repaired. The house was perfect for our family of 11. Would definitely consider this home again or another place hosted by Jan.

Great Property & Excellent Host

This property was as described. We loved the outside area. Plenty of room to spread out. The kitchen and rest of the home were fully stocked with everything we needed. The beach was just a short walk away and we were very close to everything ...shopping, groceries, etc. The owner, Jan, was amazing and by far the most proactive host I've ever encountered. She was super helpful and the house was very organized. Another guest who also owns house rentals commented on how impressed he was at her local information & home book / binder. She made sure that we did not have a single question upon arrival and she checked in periodically while we were staying there which was nice. We will definitely recommend this rental to others. Thank you Jan for making our stay a great one!

Perfect home/location for family vacation

Great, well equipped property for a family vacation with kids. The pool was excellent, clean and we loved how the house was set up with pool toys and floats, loungers, etc. Layout of the house was nice and we had everything we needed. Jan was excellent to work with, and we appreciated her clear and thorough communication. Great location for access to the beach. We rented the golf cart and enjoyed using it to cruise the neighborhood and shuttle back and forth to the beach. Hope to be back soon!

Labor Day Vacation 2020

We would definitely stay here again! No major issues through our stay. Jan was attentive to our needs, informative of Destin’s entertainment options and restaurants. The home is located within close proximity of the beach. Enjoyed the golf cart for short trips. The accommodations were comfortable. The pool was great and kept the entire family entertained. Relaxing week in Destin

Great location with plenty of room for our group of 11. The beach is extremely close (and walkable) but would recommend renting the golf cart as it made getting to/from the beach much easier. House could probably use a little more maintenance to ensure it matches the quality shown in the pictures although there was quick response when we needed to call for more immediate maintenance needs. Pool is decent sized but not "huge."

Our Family Vacation

We had a little family reunion of 14 in this house and it met all of our needs. Rooms were spacious. Kitchen was a great meeting place and the wrap around porch was lovely! The winding staircase to 3rd floor was tricky but we managed. The pool was just the perfect size with plenty of chairs. My only concern was getting into the pool. For safety reasons, I wish there would have been a railing as we had elders with us. I would definitely stay here again. The location is perfect. Who can complain about 1 block to the beach. It was a fabulous house!

Convenient location

Location was great not too far from the ocean and white sandy beaches and it does sleep a lot of people. I rated the add a 3 because it sounds like the pool comes heated but it is an additional 350.00 to have the pool heated. Like I said it does sleep a lot of people but the stair situation is narrow spiral staircase leading to the two bedrooms upstairs. I think that it is really hard to tell from photos what you are getting. We have stayed in many VRBOs throughout the years and sometimes I am impressed and other times disappointed that I did not do enough research before booking. Neighbors were great and overall it was a quiet street. Everyone runs their business/rentals differently and that’s ok and now I know the questions and clarification to get before booking.

Perfect Beach House

The house was perfect for our large extended family. It has the charm you want in a vacation beach house with a wrap-around porch, high ceilings, large windows, and spiral stairs. The master bedroom and the two bedrooms on the third floor each have their own balconies. These were great for morning coffee or reading quietly. These private spaces made the house perfect for both gathering with everyone or finding space for yourself. Everything was clean and just as advertised. The location was a HUGE plus for us. Easily walk to Starbucks and shopping as well as the beach. We used the golf cart a lot and appreciated having that option. Having the pool on the cooler days (we went in March when the weather can still be cold) was also great. Jan was super helpful and responsive to our questions--everything you hope for from a property manager.

Absolutely Wonderful!!!

We absolutely loved our stay at Southern Charm!!! The property was very clean and well kept. Pool was very nice and we were very happy that we had it heated, as it was very cool in the evenings. The property manager was very helpful. Unfortunately our golf cart had a malfunction and we only had it for a few days but Jessica did everything she could to get it fixed, and we really appreciated her efforts!! The only other issue was that the pool light had burnt out and the pool service company was not able to get that fixed before we left. However, the effort was put in to try to get it fixed before we left. This house is only about 2 blocks from the beach and is on a very quiet street. We loved these two facts!!! I recommend this property for anyone wanting to spend their vacation in the Destin area. We absolutely hated to leave!!!!

Great location & Nice host!

Overall our family had a great time at this house. It was a great location for walking to the beach. There weren't a ton of restaurants walking distance but still a few. We paid the extra for the golf cart and heated pool. The pool was totally worth it. We did use the golf cart for hauling pool toys / chairs to the beach some days as well. The house really suited our needs with the amount of bedrooms. The bathrooms (minus the master) were small but functional. I am glad we had mirrors in the upstairs room so we could get ready in there to free up a shower. Everyone was happy with the bed comfort. Overall it was a clean house but it could for sure use a deep cleaning. The carpets could use a good vacuuming & the landscaping was all overgrown making it to where we could only put the pool chairs in certain spots around the pool. Those are minor details though and I would still recommend staying here. Jan was very nice, informative of the area and fast to respond when I needed her for small things during our stay.

I'm Jan - lover of food, travel, exercise and meeting new people. I am a mom of twins and 2 cats. Most of my time I am in Destin, or Atlanta.

The house is located in Crystal Beach, in the middle of everything, and a great home base. Destin Commons is a mile away with shopping, restaurants and entertainment. Turn west to go to HarborWalk, Okaloosa Island; or turn east to go to Silver Sands Premium Outlets, Baytowne Wharf and 30A.
The Crystal Beach neighborhood has lots of sidewalks that lead to the beach.

The house has everything you need! You have plenty to do while inside such as: foosball in the game area, television for streaming movies and books in the reading nook. There is a pub table in the game zone that you can enjoy board games, chess, cards, books and puzzles.
Outside, you can enjoy dining on the deck while overlooking the pool.
We provide beach gear for you to use during your stay such as: chairs, boogie boards, beach mats and more.
