Great location, beach and accommodations

We find this property on a prior trip while eating at Dukes, and were impressed so we decided to try it on our next visit. It turned out great — easy check-in, place was as advertised and we had a nice stay.

We had a wonderful, relaxing stay! The unit’s layout worked out perfectly for us as a couple and our toddler. We loved having the patio and grass area out front to enjoy our meals on and let our toddler play. Easy access to the beach and it was nice that a cooler and beach chairs were provided. We also had an amazing time at the various pools especially the kids pool and waterslide.

Great location

We really enjoy staying in 1st floor places since we can just walk right out to the beach or the pool. This was a quiet location and close to the lobby. You can walk right out to the beach (about 2 minutes) and be in some of the most beautiful snorkeling in the world. The condo was good sized as well.

Lovely location!

This ground level location was perfect for families. The kids were able to run and play outside while we cooked or got ready for the day. Everything was very clean and organized. Loved having the sand toys and beach umbrella to use.

This spot was perfect for our family of four (two kids under the age of 5). We really liked how room 140’s back door opened up to a large field (storm surge area) so the kids could run around in the grass, chase birds, kick balls, etc. The room was just a short walk to the pool, beach, elevator (to access the parking garage), and the resort itself is a short walk to food trucks, grocery store, shave ice, pizza by the slice… really a great location. Also Maui Resort Rentals was helpful by providing a high chair and booster seat.

I have been coming to this property for almost 10 years now. This unit hands down was the nicest unit yet. I love the ground level with your own personal yard outside. It was amazing!!!! And many don’t offer towel service this one does!!!! Added bonus :)

Fantastic

This unit was perfect for our family, it was close to all of the amenities, on the ground floor and backed on to a green space which was great for our youngest child to play on. The unit had everything we needed and Maui Resort Rentals was fantastic to deal with, they responded to all emails quickly, provided extra items if needed within the same day and accommodated a late check out. I would definitely book with them again.

Very nice family friendly condo, excellent location

Well maintained unit, tastefully decorated, and with everything you need. We stayed one week with our young children who enjoyed the pools and grounds, and had a blast snorkeling at the coral reef right in front of the condo. The manager checked in several times and immediately sent someone to repair the laundry drier that was not working correctly. The only tricky part was checking in as the staff was very overwhelmed and commutation was not so easy. All in all, I definitely recommend staying here!

Nice property with easy access to the pool, beach and Duke’s Restaurant. Parking was convenient and A short distance to the supermarket. The unit had everything we needed to cook and the beach chairs and cooler were an added convenience.

This room is well equipped. Great grass expanse for kids to run off the lanai. The property manager is excellent and very accommodating and helpful.

Perfect space for our little family

We traveled to Maui with our almost-6-month old daughter, so it was critical that we have a quick and smooth check in process as well as a clean, spacious unit. This place checked all those boxes. They even provided us with a pack & play for baby to sleep in that was ready upon check in! We absolutely loved the multiple pools on site and what's even better was the poolside service from Duke's that we used numerous times. The location can't be beat, especially once we discovered the boardwalk parallel to the beach that connects you to multiple resorts, meaning more dining options. It's a beautiful stroll. Another bonus is the local food trucks next door in an open lot. The property manager checked in with us multiple times to make sure we were settling in well and I appreciated their updates on the highway closure because of the fires. We were quite nervous about making it over to Lahaina from the airport!! We were very happy with our stay and were sad to leave!

condition of room

The biggest problems we had were communication with property manager. The room wasn't ready at check in time, and after a long flight, and having to wait for four hours to get our room , it was frustrating. Also, the AC didn't work for the first two nights and property management was unresponsive to getting it fixed. We couldn't open our doors or windows since we were on the ground floor, so it was miserable.

We always strive to provide the best possible experience for each and every guest so we are very sorry to hear that your recent stay with us left you disappointed. We apologize that we were not able to get you into your room early, but since we had guests checking out of your unit that same day, we had to stand by our standard 4pm check in time. We can assure you that, had we been able, we would have been happy to give you an early check-in. We are also sorry to hear about your frustrating experience with the AC. As an independent property manager at Honua Kai we always remind guests that, should you require assistance for any reason, it is important to reach out to us directly and not the Honua Kai front desk. From looking at the notes on your reservation it appears that you didn’t respond to our check-in follow up call or email, but it does look like you reached out to the Honua Kai front desk directly to fix your AC, and didn't contact us until two days later. Although we had your A/C working later that afternoon, we can imagine how frustrating that must have been waiting for those two days. We do try to be very clear in all of our guest correspondence that service requests should be directed to Maui Resort Rentals and not the Honua Kai front desk, but we will review everything to see if we need to make any changes.
