Communication with the host was excellent. Easy check in and house was clean, well stocked, comfortable and well located. We loved sitting by the water and watching the fish jump, the sound of the birds and even had a dolphin swim by. Would love to stay at the house again. We stayed for the month of February 2026 and would like to do 6 weeks next time.

Host was welcoming and answered questions immediately. The place was beautiful and cozy. Nothing more relaxing than a warm sea breeze and canal front on two sides of the home. Location was perfect; not far from Mom. Enjoyed sunsets every night!

Awesome all the Way Around

Whether we were sitting outside enjoying the view or sitting inside watching something on Netflix, we were relaxing. Loved the openness of the main living area. I could prepare a meal while still be included in the conversation. Communication with our hosts was always handled in a timely fashion. I do miss my bird friends. They gave me the opportunity to capture some nest photos.

Beauty in the water

We loved staying at the mermaid house. In the morning we sat on the blue bar stools reading our Bible. Every morning there was an egret, great Blue heron, and an anhingha. The fish were jumping, too. The place was very comfortable and well equipped. The owners were very responsive to questions. Couldn’t ask for more.

Wedding trip

We were in town for a wedding. Great location, convenient to everything. Didn't get to enjoy all of the amenities of the house due to weather and time constraints, but hope to stay here again in the future. Communication with management was excellent. Overall a good experience.

Lovely home and location

Lovely house. Very comfortable and well stocked. Really enjoyed the swim spa. I'm recovering from a broken shoulder and shattered patella and bought some foam water weights to do PT in the spa. So much more fun in the water.

This house met all our needs. I was very surprised when we got there. This house exceeded my expectations. It was on a corner lot of the canal. The house was very clean.

Mermaid has been our home since 2016. We have a sailing catamaran called DAME which is a play on our names together. She is moored on the property while we are away awaiting our next adventure on her. We love to travel and found ourselves with an opportunity to be in New Zealand for a year. We have cruised the Bahamas.

We bought an RV and are now "land cruising". In the summer of 2024 we did a trip from Florida to Canada and Alaska. What an adventure.

We chose this home due to its location and quick access to the Gulf. We both believe that homes die when empty and want to share our beautiful home with our guests. Hudson is a wonderful Gulf front community offering many amenities with a beach atmosphere, boating, fishing and waterfront restaurants.

We were lucky to befriend Don Himes who is managing our property for VRBO. Don has been managing VRBO's in Hudson since 2014 and is also an officer of the local Hudson Beach Yacht Club. He has a 4.9 out of 5-star rating and understands what people want.

Our hope is that you enjoy our home and the community.

We are long time sailors who wanted a home on the Gulf with easy access to same.

It's location at the corner of two canals, one of which is the main access to the Gulf was ideal.

Hudson is a great little town on the Gulf that's not too touristy but close enough to major attractions to be an excellent base of operations.
