A week in the Dordogne

The property was a period cottage with a lovely peaceful courtyard. The location we thought would be great for walking to local restaurants but most were either unsuitable or closed. There are some beautiful villages and good restaurants a short drive away. The location has a good boulangerie and small food store. The description needs updating as the cleaning, linen and understandably electricity are significantly more expensive than shown. Overall a good base for exploring a beautiful region of France.

We had no car. A car is needed, and essential, as difficult to get any transport. No bus links, taxis only available from bergerac and very expensive. Very kind of owner to provide homemade marmalade.

Five Star Home and Holiday

This delightful house had everthing and more. Located a short drive from the airport, we were warmly welcomed by our host Claire who showed us around what I can only describe as a beautiful home full of character and history. On a practical level it had everything for day to day living and the garden/patio area was completely enclosed with a variety of flowering plants and bushes with ample seating and dining with both sun and shaded areas to fully embrace the outdoors. A 5-10 minute walk along the picturesque river lead us to many local amenities such as shops, eateries, museum, church etc with daily markets scattered around neighbouring towns and villages. To get a taste of the real France and immerse youself in French culture, I would highly recommend this property as the place to stay.

un véritable paradis dans un village médiéval,

Un rel dépaysement dans une belle maison, un véritable paradis a l abris du temps. Nous nous sommes tout de suite senties chez nous. La maison est bien équipée de tout le confort nécessaire et même plus. Après nos sorties variées et nombreuses, nous avons dormi comme des BÉBÉS. Nous avons toujours mange dehors ou aux restaurants conseilles par Claire. Nous recommandons cette maison

Une véritable Pépite excellent rapport qualité prix

Tout correspond au descriptif maison authentique, très facile à trouver, propre, claire et agréable des visites sur tous les themes: viticulture, histoire, gastronomie, jardins promenades et vélos. Il est rare que autant d'activités soient présentes sur un même site. Il y a du choix, et grand qualité de cette maison: on se sent comme chez soi, même mieux... des vrais vacances.

Dès notre arrivée dans cette maison, nous sentons chez nous. Même en mieux....Cet endroit est fantastique pour un séjour que vous visitiez en couple, en famille ou avec des amis, il y en a vraiment des activités pour tous les goûts. Le jardin est magnifique, les roses sont splendides. La campagne environnante et les villages sont parfaits pour de longues promenades ou en effet une balade à vélo. la propriétaire a tout fait ce qui était possible pour rendre notre séjour mémorable ... Le confort est maximum, il y avait des tas d'informations disponibles sur les endroits à visiter à proximité. J'apprécie toujours cela quand je suis en vacances, ça rend les choses beaucoup plus facile. Mon souvenir préféré est le vélo chaque matin à la boulangerie locale pour aller chercher un croissant et pain pour le petit déjeuner ... C'est un excellent moyen de commencer la journée ... Nous reviendrons !

idéal maison typique découvertes extraordinaires

Idéal pour découvertes des sites remarquables, des villages perchés, des vignobles de Bergerac, de la vallée de la Dordogne,.. Patrimoine régional très riche : lavoirs, villages classés, bastides anglaises et françaises, murs en pierres sèches, puits,.. Le gite de pierre, bois et chaux est également authentique, confortable avec un patio très agréable. L'accueil par Ann est impeccable avec des confitures maison et de la documentation sélectionnée et récente. Merci.. Nombreuses randonnées au départ de la propriété (Gr et chemins balisés), circuits en vélo (route ou VTT). En saison (avril, octobre), récoltes des nombreux fruits et légumes des producteurs locaux sur les marchées et visite du célèbre marché d'Issigeac le dimanche....

Fantastic for relaxation, peace, walks.....and wine....

This house is charming, comfortable, spacious and well equipped . It situated at the edge of a village near the Dordogne to rivet. It is very Pleasant. Shops near the house are friendly with good wine….. We walked through wood, on well and good ways. We saw flora and fauna. The cycle track is free free on small ways indicated well. This natural activity is excellent near the house. We shall return.

Formidable, nous revenons toujours conquises

Avec une amie nous avons passé 4 jours dans ce gîte. Tout était parfait. La propriétaire est charmante, le gîte est très propre et très bien équipé et surtout le cadre et la vue sont magnifiques. Il est situé dans un charmant petit village médiéval, à l'écart du bruit, mais tous près des boutiques des producteurs locaux. Tout est rassemblé et parfait pour être au calme et se ressourcer. Vous pouvez y aller les yeux fermés !

I loved the charm of it all. While being old charm, the plumbing and ease of living were just perfect. Auto perhaps needed for long journeys, but I preferred walking through the lovely old town and over the Dordogne bridge...Gorgeous walk (very few cars) along the canal to neighboring Lalinde. Trains when no strikes(!) very easy and far more freeing. Sweet gift of fresh eggs and THE MOST DELICIOUS JAM EVER! I would absolutely insist on staying there again. C'est une très jolie maison dans une rue tranquille. C'est juste un peu plus loin du quartier des super-boutiques, bars et restaurants à quelques min de là. Il est très facile d'y aller à pied pour aller à la rivière Dordogne. La maison de pierre, poutres et véritable parquet, est lumineuse, très propre, et dispose d'une cour aménagée en jardin, très conviviale et sympa. Je la recommande vivement: tout y est...

Parfait, confortable et agréable

Très bien reçus par la propriétaire très sympathique, avec des bons plans à disposition, et passionnée par sa région. Très belle maison en pierre typique. Grand espace intérieur confortable avec un poêle et des poutres apparentes d'origine. Chambres spacieuses et décoration agréable. Situation très calme, au coeur de la campagne verdoyante. Nous avons beaucoup aimé le patio et les environs de la maison.

Le gite est grand, confortable, et bien agencé. Il est à 5 minutes du centre village à pied, ce qui est raisonnable et pratique. De plus, il y a de la place pour se garer gratuitement; enfin le patio est un must plus que positif lorsqu'on est en famille : c'est une véritable pièce en plus. Les enfants ont pu faire du vélo à leur guise en toute liberté....

Jolie petite maison avec tout le confort dans un cadre agréable et tranquille proche des petits commerces et restau sympa. Accueil très chaleureux, sens prononcé du service. Séjour très agréable. Charmante maison avec sa petite terrasse ombragée. il est cependant dommage qu'aucune des deux chambres n'aient de fenêtre et que la télévision soit si petite et n'émette que 3 ou 4 chaînes.
