Villa Messi è un posto incantevole per riposarsi, struttura accogliente ed arredata come se fosse veramente abitata, unica scomodità la cucina principale non comoda sia per la terrazza che per la piscina. La Villa è situata in posizione molto comoda per raggiungere punti di interesse sia in Toscana che in Umbria. Proprietari discreti e cordiali, pronti a rispondere ad ogni quesito ed ad accogliere le richieste effettuate. Una piacevole scoperta che consigliamo.

Lovely holiday house! Perfect place for exploring Tia. We really enjoyed the outside kitchen with the bbq and wood fired oven. The pool was a great space which the kids really enjoyed playing in. AC was a bonus too!

Ravi de notre séjour à Casalini. Très bon accueil de Dante et Messi. La maison est spacieuse et la piscine impeccable. L’endroit est calme et reposant. Très bien aussi pour les ballades avec le chien. On a pu visiter les principaux sites que nous voulions voir entre Assisi, Orvieto et Sienne. Un grand merci à Dante et Messi pour leur disponibilité.

Zentrale Lage der Villa Messi

Wir, 4 Freunde, haben die Ambiente Villa Messi, während 4 Wochen, genossen. Leider war das Wetter eher kühl. Die Villa bietet viele schöne Aufenhlatsbereich auf, speziell die Aussenküche mit grosser deckter Veranda, Grillbereich und Pizzaofen, im Obergeschoss. Der Pool hat die ideale Grösse um zu plantschen und schwimmen. Die Gastgeber, Messi und Dante, waren zu vorkommend und diskret. Einmal wurden wir zu einem reichhaltigen Apero eingeladen. Auch hat Messi uns ein Lammgigot präpariet und zubereitet, nochmals herzlichen Dank! Liebe Grüsse von Christa, Jürg, Bruno und Urs.

Villa Messi 2022

Our family is always looking for a Villa with swimming pool where we can gather during our holiday. What a great place Villa Messi is, and what great host Dante and Messi is. Good advice and help regarding everything from wine tasting to car rentals. We really recommend this Villa, and the add really gives a fair representation of the place. Family Thorsen

Excellent stay

We very much enjoyed the house and surroundings. The house is split in a cooler lower part and lighter upper part. The owners live next door and respect your privacy, they are very helpful if you have questions, but don’t interfere otherwise. The owners must have travelled a lot as the house is well decorated with art from around the world. The pool area is very nice and well maintained. The pool is cleaned every morning, without disturbing the guests. We enjoyed daily swimming and playing in the pool. The house has a nice veranda area, where you can have lunch or dinner. It has a fully equipped traditional pizza oven, which we got to try, a lot of fun! As well there is a nice veranda seating next to the pool to have lunch. The house is located in a very small hamlet in the hills just south of lake Trasimeno. In a 15 min drive there are a couple of good, large supermarkets. About a 5 min drive there are a few restaurants and a simple bakery. Within an hour drive there are many sights of Umbria and Toscana, like Assisi, Montepulciano and Orvieto and ofcourse the lake itself.

Fantastic base to discover the authentic UMBRIA

Very friendly hosts Dante and Messi allowed us to enjoy their great and spacious house and surroundings (lovely garden). All rooms are spacious and well equipped (good beds - lots of space to store your personal belongings) and have all their own bathroom. Completely equipped indoor kitchen and very practical outdoor kitchen next to one of the terraces. This is a very nice house in a remote and very quiet area right next to the marvelous medieval city of Panicale or lake Trasimeno (you do need a car to visit the surroundings).

Villa Messi is located in a lovely quiet village of Casalini. The property itself is quite large, furnished with nice art and artefacts, giving it an initially opulent feel. Outside, there is an open eating area, complete with inbuilt barbeque, wood-fired pizza oven, hob, sink and even a fridge. We enjoyed using these facilities during our stay, including making and baking our own pizzas from scratch. The bedrooms are all en-suite. Messi and Dante were on hand when required during our stay and gave us some nice fruit and vegetables baskets from their extensive garden which was a lovely gesture. Unfortunately, the villa feels like it has been a little bit neglected over the years. For example, some of the kitchen appliances were old with broken doors, seat cushions were lumpy and uncomfortable, there was a leak in the main sitting room when it rained, also causing one of the air conditioning units to blow a fuse whenever we tried to use it. The bedroom windows all had fitted fly screens, but in two of the bedrooms, these had large holes meaning that windows couldn’t be left open as there were a lot of mosquitoes around when we visited. All the bathrooms also had an unpleasant cabbage type smell for the duration of our stay which suggested some sort of plumbing issue. It’s a shame because with a little TLC, these issues could all be resolved &I would have no reservations in giving Villa Messi 5 stars, but based on our experience, I am unfortunately unable to do so.

A Great Week in Umbria!

What a terrific experience! Dante and Messi met us as we arrived at the villa and we were quickly moved in and oriented to this wonderful accommodation. We wanted to see Umbria and with 2 couples (joined by our son and daughter in law), a comfortable villa that was central to many interesting locations was critical to our decision. Villa Messi came as advertised, and the friendly welcome and ongoing support from Dante, Messi, and family was much appreciated. We enjoyed great weather, so took advantage of the outside features - private pool and outdoor patio / kitchen to cook and enjoy breakfasts and dinners, with great panoramic view across the valley and surrounding hills. This villa is quite central to main Umbria sights and also to southern Tuscany locations. Although we were four people, the villa could easily accommodate more, and we didn't take full advantage of all the features available there. We travelled everyday to visit surrounding towns like Perugia, Assissi, Spello, Siena, Montepulciano, Montalcino, and others. Dante was very helpful with recommendations for where to go, local restaurants and shopping, and readily available if any questions. The property is beautiful and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable location central to Umbria and southern Tuscany.

The perfect home for your Italian holliday!

We spend 2 weeks at 'Villa Messi' in Casalini, Umbria. From 4/8/2018 untill 18/8/2018 and really had a wonderfull time. The house is really a home with everything you need, pool, terraces, outside kitchen(plus Pizzaoven, soo much fun!!!), spacious rooms, 3 kitchens including dishwashers, lovely surroundiings and more... I can keep going on, but you'll just have to find out for yourself, believe me it's worth it. Also Messi and Dante are great hosts, they are always there if you need them and have great tips for places and events in the area that you can visit. There is no doubt in my mind that we will be returning here in the future.

Gorgeous 14 days in Villa Messi

I had been thinking about a Italian vacation in Umbria since I don't know when. I wanted it to be perfect for me and my family. Well, I could not have chosen better. Messi and Dante were the most warm, interesting and wonderful hosts we have ever come across. First night they welcomed us with wine and drinks for the kids. We were then invited to a village party to celebrate the opening of a new restaurant. What an experience. Throughout the rest of our holiday, Messi and Dante were incredibly helpful and attentive to our needs. The villa itself is prefect. Everything you would need for a perfect holiday: full kitchen, nice bedrooms and beds, very very clean. The pool was wonderful after a long and hot day and well used! Our family tends to not sit still so we travelled all over the place to see different villages and cities. Casalini is the perfect mid point for visiting Tuscany and other cities in Umbria. We would highly recommend this villa for the perfect holiday! I would not hesitate to book there again should we be back in Umbria. Thank you Messi and Dante!

Geweldig huis met geweldig zwembad

Het is een geweldig huis, met een volledig ingerichte keuken. Drie tweepersoons slaapkamers/badkamers waarvan een slaapkamer/badkamer beneden en twee op de eerste verdieping waarvan een nog een eenpersoonsbed erbij heeft staan. Toegang tot het boventerras via de gang op de eerste verdieping. Prachtig zwembad met ligbedden en een houten overkapping met een grote tafel met stoelen om lekker in de schaduw te zitten. Ondanks dat het huis op het terrein van de eigenaar staat is er volledige privacy. De eigenaren zijn behulpzame, vriendelijke mensen.

excellent séjour !!!

Très belle villa très appréciable pour passer quelques jours de repos . La villa est situé dans un charmant petit village , en campagne ou il fait bon vivre . Villa très très bien équipée ou rien ne manque , jusqu'à une salle de sport !! Vous y passerez un excellent séjour !!! Ah j'oubliais de saluer la gentillesse et la disponibilité de notre hote , Messi , qui ne ménagera pas ses efforts pour vous .

Property details from guest perspective

As description on the site is quite short – let my extend it a little bit: House is fully detached from main building, there’s a parking place for 2-3 cars at a side of villa. Ground floor: big, well equipped kitchen combined with dining/living room, another very big living room with small but fully equipped kitchenette, one bedroom with king size bed and en-suite bathroom, another separate toilette, gym room with steam sauna and en-suite bathroom with shower. First floor: two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and big, spacious terrace with shaded dining tables, chairs and most important – big, fully equipped summer kitchen surrounded by bar table. Kitchen is equipped with big grill, pizza oven, big fridge/freezer, sink. By the way in all kitchens you will find dishwasher and set of dishes, glasses etc. Whole house is air conditioned (extra charged), but in fact it’s no need to use it, unless you really need to have 16 degrees inside. We have visited Villa Messi in July, outside temperature was above 35 degrees and have not used air-con - on ground floor temperature was ok, on first floor temperature was definitely higher. At the back of the house is placed a pool area with great gazebo with round table for 8-10 people, sunbeds and hammocks. Pool is approx. 150cm deep, has comfortable stairs and a shallow part for small kids. Surrounding of the pool and pool itself is very well maintained, what you see in the pictures is really what you get – maybe the pool area is in reality a little smaller than it looks on pictures, but don’t worry – it’s a lot of space (we were there by 2 families with 4 adults and 3 kids and have enough space for everybody). Above pool area there’s a short road leading to a hill with olive trees and wine yard you can reach with short walk.
