This ia a very well located and comfortable house. The house is well stocked with supplies. Everything works, the house is well maintained and very clean.There is enough kitchen equipment, utensils, plates, etc. to make cooking easy if you wish.Each room is spacious and comfortable. The host is very responsive and helpful. We enjoyed the very nice rooftop terrace.As we stayed for a few weeks, the availability of cleaning supplies and basics like a broom and dustpan and cleaning cloths was much appreciated.

Lovely property in ideal location.

If you want to be in the heart of Old Town Chania with easy access to the harbour, shops, bars and restaurants, this Venetian town house is ideal. We spent a lot of our time relaxing on the very pleasant roof terrace and appreciated the addition of a small canopy which provides some respite from the sun. We were aware of the layout of the house in advance and the stairs certainly do keep you fit! Although we didn’t meet the owner, communication with her was easy via WhatsApp and she very kindly allowed us to pay for a late checkout as no one was in the property later that day. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Roof terrace with a stunning mountain town and sea view.

Stayed here for a week. House was light, clean and well equipped. The roof terrace totally private, not overlooked. The town port mountain and sea views from there were stunning. The old port was the most beautiful town setting we have ever come across. The owner/manager Efi was friendly and clear in her direction and very helpful. A brilliant week.

Relaxing stay

Efi's house is located in the perfect spot, close to the harbour and in the old town, but tucked up the end of a quiet street. We had the best nights sleep all week and relaxed on the roof terrace. Great communication from Efi which made the property easy to find. We would definitely come back here if we return to Chania and highly recommend. Greay

Wonderful house but...

The small bathroom/shower is located on the ground floor while the bedroom is on the second floor. For seniors like us it was quite inconvenient.

Fantastic house in great location!

We stayed at the Venetian House for a week in late October and really enjoyed it. The location is fantastic, right in the heart of Chania, close to the harbour and just off of Daskalogianni, a street with great “non-touristy” restaurants. The Venetian aspect of the house (i.e. tall and skinny) makes it a bit quirky, with the kitchen (which is well equipped) and bathroom (with washing machine) on the main level and the bedroom two floors up, but the pictures and description show this so it is exactly as advertised. The roof terrace is amazing and we planned our days around being on it for morning coffee and late-afternoon cocktails. Efi is very nice and responsive and even left us a bottle of wine and some olives. We highly recommend this house!

Das venezianische Haus liegt sehr schön ruhig, zentral nahe am Hafen in einer kleinen Seitenstraße. In der Nähe sind zahlreiche kleine Geschäfte und viele Restaurants. Die Dachterrasse ist umwerfend!

Perfect location

Excellent communication and check in process. Absolutely perfect location, only a 5 minute walk to the water and many great bars and restaurants. Parking can be really tough, but I found the large parking area Efi recommended to be fine. The kitchen and bath on the bottom floor are good. The kitchen is well stocked. Bathroom is small but the shower worked well. The second floor is like the living area and has comfortable couches. The next level up is the bedroom which is very comfortable, and from there you take a short flight of steps up to the terrace which is amazing. Just incredible views of the city and water. Overall the house is a wonderful place to stay. There are two points to consider. One is that you take two flights of stairs down to the bathroom if you get up during the night. The other is there is no air conditioning. It was fine the first two days, but when the temp hit 90F it got pretty warm. There are fans on the upper two floors, but I guess I am used to having air and got warm. It was absolutely my fault I didn't notice that when I booked as location of the bathroom and lack of air are mentioned several times in the reviews. Despite these two personal drawbacks, we had a wonderful trip to Chania!

Great townhouse in a perfect location

If you are looking for a townhouse in a great location then you will not go far wrong choosing to stay at the Venetian Town House. When we arrived (after getting lost - which is very easy in Chania), Efi was there to meet us on arrival and made us feel very welcome. We did have a problem finding the house which was mainly my fault so please make sure you do your homework beforehand. You may also find parking difficult although we were lucky and managed to finding a space relatively close - that is where the car then stayed all week. Chania with its history, location, bars, restaurants and shops is a place you must visit. Although situated in a very quiet street the house is perfectly located within short walking distance of all the hustle and bustle. Please also be aware that the house is over 4 levels if you include the superb roof terrace - so plenty of stairs. This was not a problem for us but could be for some people. Thankyou Efi was letting us stay at your charming house - we had a really great week in Chania.

Beautiful Venetian House

We just finished a wonderful seven night stay at the Venetian House. This property is located in a very quiet neighbourhood of the Old Town. It is on a dead end so there is minimal traffic. The house is sparkling clean and beautifully furnished. The artwork and decorations are contemporary and tasteful. The kitchen is well equipped and the bathroom quite roomy in comparison to some older properties. We were within easy walking distance of all our favourite old town taveras. Efi, our host, was very helpful and easy to contact. Something that we did not understand from the listing is that the house is on three levels plus the rooftop deck. The bathroom is on the kitchen level, and the bedroom two circular flights of stairs up. The rooftop deck is wonderful and shaded with two loungers and two upright chairs, a table and canvas covered shaded area. However, the hatch cover is at the top of a flight of stairs and is very heavy to lift open. A visitor with mobility issues or one who is not strong enough to lift that cover could be disappointed.

Weihnachten und Silvester in Chania

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt sehr genossen. Das Haus ist sehr geschmackvoll eingerichtet und es ist alles vorhanden, was wir brauchten. In allen Räumen war Heizung vorhanden und diese hat sehr gut funktioniert. Vom Ferienhaus aus, ist Alles in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß zu erreichen (Bäckerei, Restaurants, Hafen, Supermärkte, Altstadt, Strand, Parkplätze). Die Vermieterin Efi spricht hervorragend deutsch und ist sehr nett.

Et dejligt hus det helt rigtige sted

Vi var især begejstrede for tagterassen, hvorfra vi havde udsigt til en stor del af både by og havn. Også beliggenheden i Chanias gamle bydel med få minutters gang til havnen tæller til husets fordel. Der er mange trapper med køkken og toilet i stueetagen, stue på første sal og soveværelse på anden sal - og øverst terassen. En pris, vi gerne betalte for udsigten - og de mange mursejlere.

A little gem

The house was delightful. Each floor held one room, all simply but tastefully decorated. The roof terrace was such a bonus. To be able to sit or lounge in the sun in October and sip a glass of chilled white wine was a winner! Chania is a great place to wander. The atmospheric streets, the pretty harbour, the range of cafés for breakfast and restaurants for dinner was amazing. We will definitely think about returning.

Tolle Unterkunft mit traumhafter Terrasse

Eine wunderschöne Wohnung direkt in der Altstadt gelegen. Das Haus ist toll renoviert. Trotz der Lage ist die Wohnung ruhig. Die Treppen im Haus sorgen für eine Steigerung der Fitness. Die Wohnung eignet sich sehr gut um Chania und Umgebung zu erkunden. Bäckereien, Cafes, Restaurants, Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind innerhalb von wenigen Minuten zu erreichen. Hat man einen Mietwagen kann die Parkplatzsuche etwas länger dauern. Wir haben in 5 Minuten Laufdistanz aber eigentlich immer einen Parkplatz bekommen. Tipp: In der Straße Minoos probieren. Efi war eine tolle Gastgeberin mit vielen Tipps. Unser Urlaub war Entspannung pur.

Ideal base for visit to Chania

The house is set over three floors plus a great roof terrace. It is ideally situated for shops, restaurants and the beautiful harbours in a quiet location. Die zentrale Lage und der schöne Dachgarten waren die Highlights

Schönes, gepflegtes Haus im alten Stil, gut eingerichtet und liebevoll dekoriert. Parkplätze in Hausnähe sind nicht unbedingt leicht zu finden, falls man mit dem Auto kommt. Und an die 29 Stufen vom Bett im 2. Stock bis zu den sanitären Anlagen im Erdgeschoss muss man sich erstmal gewöhnen. Beim Benutzen des Wasserboilers muss man auf die Uhr schauen, man sollte ihn nicht überhitzen, hieß es. Die Vermieterin war bei allen Problemen stets eifrigst bemüht, zu helfen. Insgesamt waren wir zufrieden.

Clean, comfortable and a great location

We rented Efi’s lovely town house in Chania in September 2016. We arrived late at night and after some help from Efi on the phone we finally found the house at the end of a quiet lane. We had a small rental car (city type car) which we were able to park at the end of the lane next to the house – this was a real bonus as parking like everywhere is a problem. The house was immaculately clean and comfortable and just what we were looking for. The location could not be better, three minutes walk to the bustling old harbour area of Chania which is packed with restaurants and little shops. Great town to explore and a great base for doing some touring. All in all the accommodation gave us everything we needed and Efi was on the phone a few times to check we were OK. If you want a bit of hustle and bustle with a quiet haven after a busy day (sitting on the roof top terrace having a glass of wine/ouzo after a busy day was a real pleasure) and a base do some touring then Efi’s little town house fits the bill.

Awesome!

My wife and I rented this house to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Efi was extremely easy and willing to communicate every detail. Her house was just as presented and we were extremely pleased. We chose it based on the reviews by others and they were spot on. The location is perfect being extremely convenient to everything in Old Town but situated on a dead end street making it seem quieter than the busy harbor just minutes away. We would highly recommend staying there and plan on doing it again ourselves on our next trip!

Phenomenal !

I stayed in Efi's Venetian house in January and I could not have been happier. The house is immaculately clean, bright and tastefully decorated, spacious and very comfortable. There is no detail that has been overlooked; everything is taken care of and thoughtfully chosen. Even though it was winter I really had a wonderful holiday feeling in this house -plus comfortable heating and hot showers ! The house is in a quiet dead-end street just behind the old harbor, which makes it amazing peaceful in such a central location. An amazing place to stay.

brilliantly located, greek hospitality

We stayed in the Venetian House in July 2015 for one week. The house is brilliantly located in the Old Town, about a 3 minute walk to the harbour and a five minute walk to the hub of the Old Town where all the local restaurants, bars and markets are. The bus station is an 8 minute walk so the house is really in a prime location. The house was very clean and we were welcomed with a bottle of local Greek White Wine and some roasted peppers that Efi had prepared which were delicious. The house is split on three levels with the roof terrace on the fourth floor which has superb views of the mountains and New Town on one side with the sea, lighthouse and old town on the other; a great place to have breakfast or a drink in the evening watching the sunset. The house was superbly equipped with everything you could need to make your stay a home from home. Everything that we needed was equipped. I would most definitely stay here again.

peaceful, charming and romantic

Due to a delay with our flight we arrived much later than expected, however Efi made provisions for us and kept in touch with us regularly before we flew out and when we arrived she informed us of the cost of transfers to the property from the airport. When we arrived at the house it was tidy, clean and ready to be used. We had a look around the house before retiring for the night and found the listing description of the property to be entirely accurate. The surrounding neighbourhood was peaceful and quiet, which matched our expectations for a quiet place to stay whilst on holiday. The harbour and other conveniences such as local shops were also a brief walk away, so it was very easy to buy everyday ingredients and cook for ourselves whilst staying at the house or to have a meal at one of the nearby restaurants on the harbour. The rooftop terrace was one of the highlights for us at this property, due to the lovely sunsets that can be admired from it and the relative privacy that it offers whilst enjoying meals. The rooftop is also perfect for sunbathing too, however we found ourselves going to one of the many nearby beaches on our many walks. Efi visited us twice during our stay at the property and on the first occasion kindly gave us a bottle of Malagousia to enjoy, which was a lovely introduction to Greek wines and a fantastic start to our holiday. I could not recommend this property enough if you are in search of a peaceful, charming and romantic locale whilst in Chania!

Great holidays at Venetian house

Our second visit. So stylish and comfortable. We loved it. Great location. House charming , and everything in excellent order. This house has everything you could possibly want for a week's holiday. Very clean and beautifully presented and decorated. This is a different experience, living in the heart of Chania within walking distance from everything in the town. The roof terrace is a joy to sit on. It is what sold it for us and we made very good use of it for lounging, eating and sitting out under the stars. A perfect location, embedded within a friendly local community, very different from the many faceless tourist accommodations in Crete. The location was excellent, close to shops, great restaurants and in a lovely part of the town Efi is the perfect host. She gave us all the info we needed and then left us in peace for the week, but was on hand if we needed her. We would recommend it to anybody who loves an independent holiday in a remarkably quiet part of the old town, yet in the centre of the old Venetian town of Chania.

Greek Hospitality

We stayed at the Venetian House during last April. The house looks just like the photos. Well decorated, functional, attention to detail and most of all spotless! The view from the terrace is great and it is the highlight of the house. Efi, the owner was very warm and gave us a totally unexpected welcoming with a homemade ‘mousaka’, which we savoured to the last bite and a jar of her own orange marmalade, which is one of a kind. She also gave us some pretty good advice, on how to move around and what to see. The location is also very convenient, as it is not so crowdy, yet central and close to everything. Je suis resté avec ma famille dans la maison Vénitienne pendant Avril, et nous avons été vraiment satisfaits de l’accueil. La maison était propre, très bien située, et on a absolument apprécié la vue de la terrasse sur le port et les montagnes. De plus, on est offerts un plat de ‘mousaka’ et une confiture d’orange fait maison par la propriétaire, qui était vraiment charmante. Mille mercis, Efi, pour l’accueil extraordinaire. On reviendra bientôt.
