Beautiful home in a beautiful location

We loved our stay at Casa Duna. The location is perfect, walking distance to Playa Chiquita and a short ride or drive to Playa Uya. There is a great breakfast spot just south of the property, an easy walk, and a lovely pizza place tucked in behind it. If you want a more laid-back vibe this is a perfect property for you.

Unit has everything you need. Open air makes nights very comfortable to sleep. Great location and convenient to the area!

Wonderful House & Location!

Duna House is tucked away in the jungle, you don't even know there are neighbours around you. It's a lovely, clean house with everything you need (make sure you bring your own shampoo tho). It's within walking distance to a small market store and several restaurants. Definitely a must to check out!

Rejuvenating casita in the jungle

This casita was very clean, relaxing, and immersed us in the Puerto Viejo jungle wildlife while also providing a space to be comfortable on vacation with our toddler. The pool was fantastic, area felt private from the other larger casitas next door, and the walk to playa Chiquita was about 10 min walk down our private road, across the main road, and then down a dirt road to an amazing quiet part of the playa. The casita had the essentials for us and they were able to provide a crib for our toddler for a small charge.

Essentials

Very clean and spacious. Kind of disappointing that there wasn’t any iron or even soap and other essentials. It was quite private even though there were a couple of other units close by.

If you want privacy with a jungle feel to it, this is the place. There is no TV, but who needs one when you have a NatGeo show going on outside. The location was great, the communication for access was excellent and the place itself was very relaxing. It was a bit difficult to find at first as there is no sign at the road. It is off set with two other places that are similar. Stil no complaints here:)

Location close to beach with pool

The house was clean, communication was great. The location was about half hour south of Cahuita, actually south of Puerto Viejo, which was unexpected. The closest beach (Playa Chiquita) was great. The area was loud...the house does not have windows, just screens and unfortunately while we were there there were numerous loud neighbors who are very close and on their cell phones outside at 4am. It didn't feel very private. The management was great to deal with and quick to respond. Would have been nice to have some basics like salt, pepper, washclothes, a broom.

Spring Break 2023

It was my son’s senior year spring break! We began traveling to Puerto Viejo16 years ago, but hadn’t been able to make it the last 7 years! This home was just what we needed for our return! Perfect for the 3 of us! The home was clean and we stayed long enough to get an additional clean during our stay! The home was fully stocked with what we needed to prepare meals! The pool we have found is something we truly prefer to have when in PV! So having this private pool was perfect! Sitting by the pool and enjoying the excitement of animals, birds, insects (all the wildlife/flora of Costa Rica) is truly some of the best entertainment! We like our privacy when we travel and although, this home has 2 other houses with their own pools on property. The flora has been planted well between each house to give proper privacy! We loved that this little house was to the back of the property and kept neighboring noises to a minimum. Property management was easy to communicate with and made sure we had everything we needed! We would love to return and will recommend to friends and family as well!

No recibimos lo que contratamos

En nuestra visita a Casa Duna, en Playa Chiquita de Talamanca, Limón, Costa Rica, tuvimos una experiencia bastante desagradable. Rentamos esta propiedad porque queríamos disponer de una piscina privada. Nuestra sorpresa fue que al llegar el agua de la piscina estaba turbia. Recibimos una solución momentánea, al permitirnos utilizar la piscina de otra de las casas de la Villa, con la condición de que solo fuera en los momentos que no estuviera ocupada. Esto no fue por lo que pagamos. Y aunque sabemos que los imprevistos suceden, una buena administración se comunica con los huéspedes y les indica los inconvenientes, ofreciendo opciones para toda la estadía sin que sean los huéspedes quienes tengan que ir descifrando día a día, qué va a suceder con el uso y la limpieza de la piscina. Por otro lado, reportamos que las toallas de baño estaban sucias y la respuesta fue que el agua las mancha. Hemos estado en la zona hospedados en varios lugares y nunca hemos tenido toallas "manchadas". Y si fuera así, vemos que estas deben ser cambiadas con periodicidad. El escurridor de platos estaba herrumbrado, y como sabemos el clima afecta ciertos materiales, por lo que deben buscar utensilios que no se deterioren o bien cambiarlos periódicamente. Reportamos que la caja de seguridad presentaba problemas para cerrarla y no tenía las baterías completas, nunca llegó nadie a solucionarlo, aunque se nos dijo que iba a llegar alguien. Recibimos mensajes confusos por WA que nunca entendimos.

Perfect getaway!

Casa Duna was amazing! Perfectly laid out for a couple with room to spare. Close to town and a short walk to Playa Chiquita, but the location is nice and private. We put the plunge pool and kitchen to good use too! We will definitely stay again!

A Beautiful GetAway!

Five stars all around! Could have used daily maid services, more towels, and cushions on pool chairs. Other than that, this place is perfecto!!

Recaptured Myself In This Paradisw

Property is just as described - nestled in th back of the compound. Emma, Luis and Donnelly are great staff to this property and we’re easily accessible. Property is within walking, biking and tuk tuk distance to shops, restaurants and beaches! I don’t want to let this secret out, but it’s a must stay!
