Great place to stay

The place was clean and the communication with the property manager was cordial. Definitely would stay there again and recommend it to family and friends.

It was a ok stay

The property and location were nice. But the house was a little dirty, the fridge broke but they did come to put a small one in so our food wouldn’t spoil, downstairs a/c didn’t work properly so family who were staying downstairs had to come upstairs to sleep due to it being hot. They said there was a propane grill out back that we could use but the tank was empty and grill was broken. It was an ok stay.

peaceful and spacious

Being the first time using a home instead of a hotel while on vacation they made it so easy to choose and check in. The home owner replied in a very timely manner and the home was just what I reviewed on the the pictures. Save you alot of spending if you have a family of 6 like me. The place was very clean and has all your home appliances to feel like at home. So peaceful to enjoy some night fishing on the deck and close to the beach to just walk right over. I will be coming back no doubt.😊

Family vacation

The house was great, but the floors were so dirty that we had to wear socks and or shoes the whole time. Might want to leave a broom so the floors can be sweep especially when a large group stays. I would of liked the boat to have been moved. When advertising a dock to fish off but a boat is in the way, a little disappointing. But overall it was a good vacation for my grandkids, they had a great time and that is what matters.

Do not recommend

If you can, read all the reviews with less than 5 stars and take into deep consideration. Communication with host is stellar as long as there's no issues and it's before 4. AC went out not even 30 minutes into our stay, downstairs temps reached up to 87. Repairs were made until next day, sleeping down there was unbearable. The home was dirty (leftover food, dirty floors and pills were found by the toddlers in our party both upstairs and downstairs). You also cannot fish comfortably with the boat. It takes up all the middle area of bottom deck, fishing can only be done from the corners. The walk to beach is NOT 5 or 6 minutes away as advertised, it's an easy 10 plus minute walk, if you're dragging a buggy and kids be prepared for it to feel like forever. Take your own towels and toilet paper as they provide the bare minimum. The stairs are narrow and steep, that was my fault for not taking a better look. The kitchen is fully stocked, they do provide: shampoo/conditioner, detergent/softener, and hand soap. Parking was spacious. Overall I would not recommend, there are better places to stay on the island.

Lacking Maintenance

Shower was stained/dirty, no soap or shampoo. Weeds need trimming below rear deck. Front deck is worn, requires maintenance. Bugs found in Kitchen glasses, requires Professional Pest Control treatment. Entry lock was not programmed upon arrival. Dangerous stairs inside, should be replaced with a MFG spiral staircase.

Enjoyable stay

Great location,nice amenities and easy rental. Some very minor issues like the soap in the shower dispenser was knocked off wall downstairs. I couldn’t find a broom to sweep up sand or debris from tree on patio after a storm But,overall we enjoyed our stay.

Perfect for multi family vacation

My best friend and I like to do family vacations together with our crews. I have grown children with families of their own and she has a child in high school and one in grade school. This was perfect for our group. My son’s family had a room, my husband and I had a room, and my best friend’s family had a room. Then we put all of the kiddos in a room. There were still two sleeper sofa’s available too!! It was perfect for fishing for the kids and fireworks. The walk to beach access #20 was only about 5-8 minutes. There was a gas grill available and plenty of seating on both decks. I was only slightly jealous of the hot tub next door and the pool on the other side. All in all this was a favorite on the island.

Great Place

Great property. Close to beach and restaurants as well as the Island Market. Quiet street and neighbors. Great dock/ pier! Spacious kitchen. Good AC and a cool house for a hot summer. Property manager super nice. Will come back again!

Wonderful Time

This was everything like the pictures , except there is no longer bunk beds. Still a bed in the room, we enjoyed our time and will be booking again.

Great weekend getaway

Had a fun time. Accommodations were good & enjoyed fishing from dock in the back. Saturday night fireworks were a spectacular show & could see them from the deck.

Stairs not kid friendly

The set of stairs inside the house are definitely not kid friendly. I was constantly worried my child would get hurt trying to play on the stairs. The stairs are very narrow. The owners really didn't leave much for their guest to use. Not many towels, no tissue, no soap, no paper towels. Basically nothing to start with. The bathrooms seemed very out dated.

SPI Family vacation

The entire process checkin/checkout was super easy! The property was beautiful! Great location and amenities. The fishing dock was perfect for evening meals and night fishing. Everyone loved it, from the kids to the grandparents. The owner was very responsive and we had no issues. AC worked great and super comfy beds. We will definitely be back!

Family Outing

Property is in quiet location with close access to everything. We enjoyed fishing on the canal. The interior staircase is very steep and narrow. Really would have appreciated more than 2 rolls of toilet paper and more garbage bags. No excuse for not providing these simple necessities. Other than that it was a good stay.

Would rent again in the future!

We stayed here for three days… it was a very relaxing and nice place. We didn’t have any bug issues and the house was clean. Has lots of room. They only thing we didn’t have enough toilet paper for three days and the stairs for a two year old is kind of scary, but other than that it was a wonderful experience!! Thank you for making our vacation experience great!!

Always check reviews before choosing!

This might be great for young party goers however, this was not for a good fit for our family. We had to wear our shoes in the shower for fear of athletes’ foot and the downstairs had mold in the bathroom. When we checked in there were approximately 6 towels, broken mirror dirty sheets and dirty walls. I immediately took pictures and sent them to Derrick. I did get a quick response from Derrick and he brought additional towels as requested. Day 2 the AC leaked water all into the kitchen and the maintenance guy never came so we just put towels down (leaving us short again) There we’re also large water bugs (looked like roaches to me) and my husband said that they were probably water bugs. Yuck! Also no trash bags (just the one in the trash can when we arrived) Honestly this looks like someone new to VRBO because our previous experience with VRBO was stellar and this one was just not in the same league. We were asked to place dishes in the dishwasher but we opened the dishwasher and the horrible stench was unbearable. We washed them by hand and left them drying on the counter which was a gift in my opinion. I think if you’re desperate, this stay won’t kill you but if relaxation and comfort is what you’re seeking, steer clear of this place.

Nice property

The entire process was super easy. The property was nice inside and outside. Property needed a few repairs and replacements, but nothing too major. Just Wish I would have know ahead of time of some of the issues because I totally drilled my kids thinking they had cracked a mirror, but then I realized there were several cracked mirrors. Only thing we didn't like or that made our kids uncomfortable was the fact the garage is locked so you can't check in there and my kids felt like they hearing things throughout the night and that was the one room we couldn't check to ensure them, nobody was in house. The property manager told me the owner keeps his car in there, so that's understandable as to why it was locked. Other than that, very nice property.

Perfect Beach House

Absolutely one of the best locations to stay on South Padre Island. We love to fish and having a boat lift makes all the difference! Very spacious rooms and comfortable beds. We watched fireworks show from the balcony. Nick is a great owner and very responsive. We definitely plan on staying here again!
