I should preface this with, yes, this space was how it looks in the listing and the property managers/owners were great the whole time for communication and any problems/notifications. But unfortunately pictures can be misleading. This property has so much potential to be extremely awesome, but I felt let down during my stay.
The building is probably an original for the town, so it’s squeaky and slippery hardwood floors did make it hard to move around on; more area rugs and such would have helped a ton especially for dogs or people who have a harder time walking. The unit was cute, but very “bare minimum”. A small uncomfortable couch for a large living room with a cheap table for sitting. There were no creature comforts; like a throw blanket for the couch, pillows for the other chair, etc. The main bedroom didn’t have a TV while the guest bedroom did (which is just a note, not a detraction); the master bed was SO uncomfortable and squeaked any time someone breathed. I couldn’t sleep at all, it was a terrible night. The appliances are working, but are very outdated and old. The toilet handle was hard to flush, almost thinking it was broken. The kitchen was decently stocked for staples, but things like having a coffee maker but no coffee, are a let down. Lacking the “homey” touch like artwork and rugs etc made the noise echo and made me feel overly cautious to move around in the unit in case I was bothering other tenants.
If you’re looking for a quiet and comfortable getaway, this is not it. Located at an extremely busy and industrial setting, the traffic was loud and the view was unfortunately concrete and pavement. There are a few small grass patches if you bring your dog, to let them potty.
The place and unit had so much potential to really bring a great getaway experience, but just fell short in a lot of ways and left me disappointed. I also didn’t like that after my stay, the management emailed me asking for a review of the place (per usual) but if I had less than a 5 star review, I should email them directly and not put it on VRBO so they could make changes themselves. I feel like other people may have had similar experiences to mine and felt swayed to not put their reviews on the site. I would have more than likely gone with another VRBO that was more comfortable, even for a much higher cost.
