Great getaway

The owner and property managers were excellent and offered lots of suggestions and recommendations. So very helpful for a first time visit. The views are breathtaking and worth the drive from town.

STJ vacation

Our family throughly enjoyed staying at Sundancer. The property is well maintained and the view is amazing. The property managers Katja and Jeff were super friendly, responsive and easy to work with. Definitely looking forward to come back again.

Beautiful stay!

Sundancer Villa was perfect for our honeymoon. The property and the views were stunning. We loved watching the sunset every night with a glass of wine. Communication with the property manager was prompt and appreciated. Highly recommend!

Perfect perfect perfect

We’re visited St. John many times and are familiar with the island and the beauty it offers. This newly rehabbed villa offered beautiful views, a spacious comfortable layout. We stayed with another couple, the set up allowed for common space as well as privacy for all of us. Highly recommended!

St John family trip

Spectacular view with great outdoor space and furniture to enjoy outside and view. Plenty of space and privacy for all. Location is close to town dining boating. Property manger was incredibly helpful and waited to meet us at the ferry dock even though our flight was delayed and take us to the house. We had a fabulous trip and will be returning to Sundancer Villa.

Wonderful House w Beautiful Views

We loved staying here! It was close to Cruz Bay and all the restaurants. We lost electricity in the 1st two days bc of the feeder being down from STT but never even knew it bc the house has solar panels. BRING mosquito spray bc in the summer, the mosquitos are relentless. Luckily the house had some spray so we used that for our time there.

My wife, our two daughter, and our son-in-law enjoyed the house over the Thanksgiving holiday. The home was clean, perfectly furnished, and located a short drive from Cruz Bay. It is close enough to everything, but distant enough from any Cruz Bay nightlife noise. The property manager lives nearby and was quite responsive. We would come back!

Escape from New York

Stunning modern property tucked above the hills of St. John away from all the tourist areas you feel wonderfully isolated and secluded looking out to stunning views of the islands and Caribbean Sea all around you with your own pool to float away in when the heat from your chaise lounge gets to be too much. Beautifully and lovingly appointed all around.

What an amazing property! Breathtaking views. It did take a couple days to get comfortable with the drive but it was well worth it. If you can plan to arrive before the sunsets, the drive is less intimidating and the sunset is beyond words, stunning. I loved how I could see both the sunrise and sunset. Pool was a perfect end to the beach day.

Amazing Stay at Sundancer!

We stayed at Sundancer for a combined 25th Anniversary as well as my wife’s 50th Birthday. Katja and Robert communicated very well leading up to the trip and Katja was great once on island. I really can’t say enough about the beauty and function of the property. We spent most late afternoons sitting on the pool deck listening to the Sonos sound system with a constant amazing breeze out of the East the entire week. This is the first property we have stayed where everyone in the family wants to go back! Once we determine the week.. we plan on coming again next summer.

Excellent Property

Property was very new and pristine. The house, equipment and furniture were in excellent condition and high quality. Pictures are all accurate. View is gorgeous. Pool is small but nicely designed (all of the pools in St. John are small). Check in and communication were all excellent. Note that all showers are outdoors (private and covered), which we all enjoyed very much. Driveway is very steep (again, as most are in St. John) but you get used to it. No issues at all and would definitely return. Have stayed in other houses in St. John and this is the nicest by far.

Family vacation

Overall a lovely property with a killer view. House is about 15 minutes outside of town in a very quiet spot. My kids (6&8) loved the warm pool. House was clean and well equipped. Excellent information/communication with the owners and their management team. Lots of beach supplies provided (chairs,floats,cooler). The room setup would not be ideal for younger children as the two rooms on the lower level are connected by outdoor/open hallway with easy access to a significant downhill incline. The door handles in the bedrooms where also too cumbersome for my children to safely open in case of an emergency. We had an amazing time and would highly recommend.

Sundancer Villa!

This was a great property on St. John. The house had just what you needed and was a beautiful location. The kitchen is fully stocked with a good stove. Plenty of den space to relax. The bedrooms were nice being separate from each other to give everyone the space they needed. Pool is in a great spot with morning sun but afternoon shade. Outdoor showers were a little different but turned out nice and secluded enough. Location of the house is about a 10-15 minute drive to Cruz Bay but worth it. It was nice to be a little bit away but still close enough. We enjoyed the drive and couldn’t beat the house view. Definitely a great deal for the price and a very up to date home. Property manager Katja was awesome and very helpful. The house was the cleanest VRBO we’ve stayed in and truly felt like home. Will defiantly be back.

Best VRBO experience to date!

My husband and our 3 kids just returned from our stay at Sundancer. We have only positive things to say about our experience - both in the home and regarding communication/responsiveness with property management before, during and after our stay. The property was clean and very well appointed - we found everything we needed to make meals and there stocked all necessary paper/toiletry supplies such as laundry detergent, soap, paper towels, etc. to make our packing and island shopping much easier. Beach chairs and a small cooler were left by other guests and were very much appreciated! When we reported a rip in one of the deck lounge chairs, property management showed up with 3 new lounge chairs within 24 hours. We had read comments on the driveway steepness, but St. John is a very hilly and winding island, so being comfortable with hills and winding roads is a non-negotiable; and the driveway was actually much less steep than many other properties on the island. And last but not least - the pool and views from the deck were priceless and the peace of Fish Bay was lovely. We are so grateful to have stumbled upon this little gem - thank you Rob, Katja and Jeff!

St John Hideway

The villa is very well appointed with stylish contemporary furniture and ample towels and kitchen supplies. The beds are very comfortable and the views are fantastic. The house is very nicely designed. We are a three generation family with people ranging from from 16- 82. However, we did have some problems that should be eliminated. First and foremost, the internet was very spotty and to make it worse, there was no way to get in touch with Katja from the house with no service. There should a phone in the house for contact and emergencies. We had no way to reach her when our internet and phone was out. This inconvenienced us several evenings in the middle of watching Netflix when we had to abort the movie we were watching. In the morning, when we went to town and had service, we were able to contact her and she was very responsive --- but this happened several times and the issue was never fully resolved. There are two other issues worth mentioning: the narrow driveway is a 90 degree pitch down from the main single lane road --- to get back up to the road you have to be very skilled at backing out of a narrow steep driveway --- we managed but it was very tricky. Thirdly, the water pressure in the house needs addressing. The outdoor showers are lovely but you have a weak streak of rain water and, if one machine/person is using the water simultaneously, you have no water at all. Overall we loved the location (private), the views, and the well equipped kitchen but the problems should be addressed for this to be a 5 star villa.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review Sundancer for us. We trust that the issues you raised did not significantly detract from your enjoyment of Sundancer and St. John. We hope to see you return. I would like to respond to several of your comments: Regarding the internet, I have not an any issue whatsoever with the internet for the last 2 years. My service is the most reliable with the fastest speeds available on the island. The system is satellite based with a full battery backup. My wife and I worked at the house for 3 months during Covid and we were on endless zoom calls without interruption during our stays. Your issue was unfortunate because it seems the internet signal was compromised when the wind knocked a lower level shower screen into the satellite dish. This problem was corrected soon after your departure. Relative to the driveway, like hundreds of St. John driveways, it is an 18 degree pitch and 12’ wide which most guests find quite manageable after one or two successes. Finally, relative to water pressure, we have personally occupied the house with six guests and assuming that guests take reasonably timed showers we have never lost pressure. All shower valves and shower heads are brand new and conform to a federally mandated flow rate for of 2.5 gallons per minute. The tank and pump which pull rain water from the cisterns are brand new and properly sized for the needs of the house. I am at Sundancer right now and am assessing this issue carefully. I appreciate your bringing it to my attention. I ‘ve owned a custom residential construction company in NJ for the last 30 years, I personally oversaw and participated in every aspect of the construction of the house. I also spend no less than 3 months at Sundancer every year making sure the systems are functioning at peak performance and no maintenance is neglected. I take pride in the fact that we’ve had over 40 guests since the house was constructed and all of those guests were delighted with their stays. Again, thanks for taking the time to provide your review and we hope to see you again at Sundancer.

As close to heaven as you can get!

What a treasure to find Sundancer! It is even more breathtaking than the photos! From booking to property management it was the BEST experience we have had with VRBO rentals. This property offers the obvious breathtaking views, top of the line accomodations and paradise, better than home away from home. Thank you to Rob for being a perfect host, so gracious and welcoming. My only complaint, wish I could have stayed longer. Property Management is superb, they ensured provisions were all there and our comfort was top priority. We will be back to Sundancer just as soon as we can! Thank you!

Great Vacation!

The property was private with a great view. Great for 2 to 3 couples. Each couple has private space and perfect outdoor entertainment set up. Roads to house are in better shape than other places I've stayed on the island as well.

Great Villa and great Vacation!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sun dancer property, Robert the Owner was super helpful and the Property Manager was easy to get a hold of if we needed anything. I would highly recommend staying here; beautiful views, breakfast on the deck poolside every morning, only 15 mins from Cruz bay, and really enjoyed the pool and the outside showers. Overall a great place to spend a week on St. John.

Amazing stay!

The home has a beautiful view, well appointed with anything you’ll need, owner and the property managers were beyond helpful with anything I needed…I can’t rave enough about this booking. Can’t wait to come back!

Amazing property!

Such an amazing view with excellent accommodations! Very clean, updated and very comfortable beds. Great distance from town and beaches. Will definitley try to stay here again when we visit in the future!

Great Experience!

Just wanted to drop a note to say how wonderful of a time we had in St John for our first visit staying at Sundancer. The thoughtful modern architecture, design and furnishings were perfect for our taste and the artful pool area with the views was amazing. Rob was great and Katja at driftwood properties was very helpful as well. We loved the island, and will definitely be back again!

Dream Vacation at Sundancer Villa!

Perfect St. John vacation home

This home is absolutely beautiful. We searched dozens of homes for our trip and we are so happy to have found this one. The location is perfect with great proximity to Cruz Bay and beaches while still being private. We spent most of our time outside enjoying the amazing view and pool. The home is beautifully designed and well built down to the finest detail. It has everything we needed. Tori, the property manager, met us at the ferry and led us out to the home and on arrival we saw that it was perfectly clean and ready for our arrival plus Tori was a wealth of info regarding area restaurants and beaches. When we return to St, John we won't be staying anywhere else.
