This may have been the most beautiful VRBO / B&B room in which I have stayed. The guest facility is actually more of a suite than a room. Richard Schuh was a most gracious host. He saw that I was walking with a bit of a limp after knee surgery and offered to carry my luggage into the room for me, and out of the room to my car when I departed. He also provided a spot on restaurant recommendation for dinner. I couldn't have been happier with my stay.

Great location in Boulder, CO! The space was large! The communication with the host was prompt!The only caveat was there was no A/C or any way to cool off the space besides leaving the front screen door open all night long - this was a bit unsettling as we were in a new place. We could open the windows for air, but there was no screen which caused mosquitoes to flock in. A window A/C unit, Mini-Split, Dyson floor device, or ceiling fan could be a great solution for the spring/summer months.

Awesome stay near downtown boulder!

We had a great time visiting Boulder staying in this VRBO. The check in process was easy and quick and everything was super walkable to the restaurant/bars/shops/everything that you could ever want really in downtown. The apartment is downstairs in their home and it was very easy and quiet with either of us disrupting each other.

Great location to walk to Pearl Street Mall, Restaurants and Bars. Close drive to great areas for hiking. Property was as pictured; clean and easy to access. On street parking was nice. We would stay again.

Very nice, clean, and large basement apartment with a terrific shower and fireplace. Owners live in the main house and were promptly responsive to questions. Ideally located to Pearl St., which was a 5 minute walk. No stove or oven which we didn’t care about though some guests might. It’s also not accessible since you have to walk down a short flight of stairs to access.

Thank you, Trish, for the kind review — we’re so glad you enjoyed the space, the shower, fireplace, and the walkable location near Pearl Street. For clarity for future guests: the suite is not advertised as a handicapped-accessible or ramp-access listing and is reached by a short flight of stairs to a private basement entrance. While there is no full stove or oven (as noted in the listing), the suite does include a **fully equipped kitchenette**, and many guests comfortably do a good amount of cooking during their stay. We appreciate you staying with us and taking the time to share your experience, and we’d be happy to host you again anytime.

Wounderful place with a great location

We very much enjoyed our stay. The accommodations were great and the location is fantastic. We were in walking distance of Pearl street, which has an amazing selection of shops and restaurants and a short drive from a number of fabulous hiking trails.

Richard and I are only the fourth owners of this historic Boulder home in 125 years. We have been on VRBO for 16 years, have hosted over 2000 guests, (Over 4 booking channels), and are the most-reviewed property in all of Boulder. Please be aware of rookie hosts.

The home has been carefully restored and we are proud to be the next generation to carry the torch. Richard is a small business owner and I am a Doctor. The main part of the home is our primary residence, with the guest suite being completely separate. You will have your own private entrance, bath, fireplace, and kitchenette. Location, location, location...

The home is our primary residence. Richard bought the property in September of 2006, just after the renovation. Every home flipper in town had looked at it until the previous owner pulled the trigger and hired the best craftsmen and tradesmen in town for a top-to-bottom gut renovation.

Richard was in town after an Outward Bound excursion and discovered the home while riding a bike through the historic district. It came down to: If I don't buy this house, I am going to regret it.

So he bought it and moved from Minnesota.

Mapleton @ 17th Street. The location cannot be beat. You will be right in the heart of Downtown Boulder and be able to walk to everything. Five Star Guest Suite is not near Downtown Boulder. We are Downtown Boulder...

As well, the guest suite is very private and comfortable. The architect designed it to feel like a suite in a Five Star hotel with all the amenities you would expect. Beautiful artwork & furniture. Fine linens & Towels. Washer & dryer. The home is located in a very quiet neighborhood in the historic district 4 doors down for the 'Mork & Mindy' house.
